Josué 6
1 Jericó estaba fuertemente cerrada a causa de los hijos de Israel. Nadie salía ni entraba.
Now Iericho was shut vp, and closed, because of the children of Israel: none might go out nor enter in.
2 El Señor le dijo a Josué: “He aquí que he entregado Jericó en tus manos, con su rey y los hombres valientes.
And the Lord saide vnto Ioshua, Behold, I haue giuen into thine hand Iericho and the King thereof, and the strong men of warre.
3 Todos tus hombres de guerra marcharán alrededor de la ciudad, dándole una vuelta. Lo harán durante seis días.
All ye therefore that be men of warre, shall compasse the citie, in going round about the citie once: thus shall you doe sixe dayes:
4 Siete sacerdotes llevarán siete trompetas de cuernos de carnero ante el arca. Al séptimo día, marcharéis alrededor de la ciudad siete veces, y los sacerdotes tocarán las trompetas.
And seuen Priests shall beare seuen trumpets of rams hornes before the Arke: and the seuenth day ye shall compasse the citie seuen times, and the Priests shall blow with the trumpets.
5 Sucederá que cuando hagan un toque largo con el cuerno de carnero, y cuando oigáis el sonido de la trompeta, todo el pueblo gritará con un gran alarido; entonces el muro de la ciudad caerá de plano, y el pueblo subirá, cada uno delante de sí.”
And when they make a long blast with the rams horne, and ye heare the sound of the trumpet, al the people shall shoute with a great shoute: then shall the wall of the citie fall downe flat, and the people shall ascend vp, euery man streight before him.
6 Josué hijo de Nun llamó a los sacerdotes y les dijo: “Suban el arca de la alianza y que siete sacerdotes lleven siete trompetas de cuernos de carnero ante el arca de Yahvé.”
Then, Ioshua the sonne of Nun called the Priests and said vnto them, Take vp the Arke of the couenant, and let seuen Priests beare seuen trumpets of rams hornes before the Arke of the Lord.
7 Dijeron al pueblo: “¡Adelante! Marchen alrededor de la ciudad, y dejen pasar a los hombres armados ante el arca de Yahvé”.
But he said vnto the people, Goe and compasse the citie: and let him that is armed, go forth before the Arke of the Lord.
8 Cuando Josué habló al pueblo, los siete sacerdotes que llevaban las siete trompetas de cuernos de carnero delante de Yahvé avanzaron y tocaron las trompetas, y el arca de la alianza de Yahvé los siguió.
And when Ioshua had spoken vnto the people, the seuen Priestes bare the seuen trumpets of rams hornes, and went foorth before the Arke of the Lord, and blew with the trumpets, and the Arke of the couenant of ye Lord followed them.
9 Los hombres armados iban delante de los sacerdotes que tocaban las trompetas, y el arca iba detrás de ellos. Las trompetas sonaban mientras avanzaban.
And the men of armes went before the Priestes, that blewe the trumpets: then the gathering hoste came after the Arke, as they went and blewe the trumpets.
10 Josué ordenó al pueblo diciendo: “No gritaréis ni dejaréis oír vuestra voz, ni saldrá palabra alguna de vuestra boca hasta el día en que os diga que gritéis. Entonces gritaréis”.
(Nowe Ioshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall nor shout, neither make any noyse with your voyce, neither shall a worde proceede out of your mouth, vntill the day that I say vnto you, Shout, then shall ye shoute)
11 Entonces hizo que el arca de Yahvé diera una vuelta a la ciudad, rodeándola una vez. Luego entraron en el campamento y se quedaron en él.
So the Arke of the Lord compassed the citie, and went about it once: then they returned into the hoaste, and lodged in the campe.
12 Josué se levantó de madrugada, y los sacerdotes subieron el arca de Yahvé.
And Ioshua rose early in the morning, and the Priestes bare the Arke of the Lord:
13 Los siete sacerdotes que llevaban las siete trompetas de cuernos de carnero delante del arca de Yahvé iban continuamente tocando las trompetas. Los hombres armados iban delante de ellos. La retaguardia iba detrás del arca de Yahvé. Las trompetas sonaban a su paso.
Also seuen Priests bare seuen trumpets of rams hornes, and went before the Arke of the Lord, and going blewe with the trumpets: and the men of armes went before them, but the gathering hoste came after the Arke of the Lord, as they went and blewe the trumpets.
14 El segundo día dieron una vuelta a la ciudad y volvieron al campamento. Hicieron esto durante seis días.
And the second day they compassed the citie once, and returned into the host: thus they did sixe dayes.
15 Al séptimo día, se levantaron temprano al amanecer y marcharon alrededor de la ciudad de la misma manera siete veces. Sólo este día marcharon alrededor de la ciudad siete veces.
And when the seuenth day came, they rose early, euen with the dawning of the day, and compassed the citie after ye same maner seuen times: only that day they compassed the citie seuen times.
16 A la séptima vez, cuando los sacerdotes tocaron las trompetas, Josué dijo al pueblo: “¡Griten, porque el Señor les ha entregado la ciudad!
And when the Priests had blowen ye trumpets the seuenth time, Ioshua said vnto ye people, Shoute: for the Lord hath giuen you the citie.
17 La ciudad será consagrada, ella y todo lo que hay en ella, a Yahvé. Sólo Rahab la prostituta vivirá, ella y todos los que están con ella en la casa, porque escondió a los mensajeros que enviamos.
And the citie shalbe an execrable thing, both it, and all that are therein, vnto the Lord: onely Rahab the harlot shall liue, shee, and all that are with her in the house: for shee hid the messengers that we sent.
18 En cuanto a ustedes, sólo guárdense de lo que está consagrado a la destrucción, no sea que cuando lo hayan consagrado, tomen de lo consagrado; así harían maldito el campamento de Israel y lo perturbarían.
Notwithstanding, be ye ware of the execrable thing, lest ye make your selues execrable, and in taking of the execrable thing, make also the hoste of Israel execrable, and trouble it.
19 Pero toda la plata, el oro y los objetos de bronce y de hierro son sagrados para Yahvé. Entrarán en el tesoro de Yahvé”.
But all siluer, and gold, and vessels of brasse, and yron shalbe consecrate vnto the Lord, and shall come into the Lordes treasury.
20 Entonces el pueblo gritó y los sacerdotes tocaron las trompetas. Al oír el sonido de la trompeta, el pueblo gritó con gran estruendo, y la muralla se derrumbó, de modo que el pueblo subió a la ciudad, cada uno por su lado, y tomaron la ciudad.
So the people shouted, whe they had blowen trumpets: for when the people had heard the sound of the trumpet, they shouted with a great shoute: and the wall fel downe flat: so the people went vp into the citie, euery man streight before him: and they tooke the citie.
21 Destruyeron todo lo que había en la ciudad, hombres y mujeres, jóvenes y ancianos, bueyes, ovejas y asnos, a filo de espada.
And they vtterly destroyed all that was in the citie, both man and woman, yong, and olde, and oxe, and sheepe, and asse, with the edge of the sword.
22 Josué dijo a los dos hombres que habían espiado la tierra: “Vayan a la casa de la prostituta y saquen de allí a la mujer y todo lo que tiene, como se lo juraron”.
But Ioshua had said vnto the two men that had spied out the countrey, Go into the harlots house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware to her.
23 Los jóvenes espías entraron y sacaron a Rahab con su padre, su madre, sus hermanos y todo lo que tenía. También sacaron a todos sus parientes, y los pusieron fuera del campamento de Israel.
So the yong men that were spies, went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that shee had: also they brought out all her familie, and put them without the host of Israel.
24 Quemaron la ciudad con fuego y todo lo que había en ella. Sólo pusieron la plata, el oro y los utensilios de bronce y de hierro en el tesoro de la casa de Yahvé.
After they burnt the citie with fire, and all that was therein: onely the siluer and the gold, and the vessels of brasse and yron, they put vnto the treasure of the house of the Lord.
25 Pero Josué salvó con vida a Rahab, la prostituta, la casa de su padre y todo lo que tenía. Ella vive hasta hoy en medio de Israel, porque escondió a los mensajeros que Josué envió a espiar Jericó.
So Ioshua saued Rahab the harlot, and her fathers houshold, and all that shee had; and shee dwelt in Israel euen vnto this day, because shee had hid the messengers, which Ioshua sent to spie out Iericho.
26 Josué les ordenó con un juramento en ese momento, diciendo: “Maldito sea el hombre ante Yahvé que se levante y construya esta ciudad Jericó. Con la pérdida de su primogénito pondrá sus cimientos, y con la pérdida de su hijo menor levantará sus puertas.”
And Ioshua sware at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before ye Lord, that riseth vp, and buildeth this citie Iericho: hee shall lay the foundation thereof in his eldest sonne, and in his yongest sonne shall hee set vp the gates of it.
27 El Señor estaba con Josué, y su fama se extendía por todo el país.
So the Lord was with Ioshua, and he was famous through all the world.
