Josué 16
1 La suerte salió para los hijos de José desde el Jordán en Jericó, en las aguas de Jericó al oriente, hasta el desierto, subiendo desde Jericó por la región montañosa hasta Betel.
The land that was allotted to [the two tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh that were descended from] Joseph started at the Jordan [River], east of the springs at Jericho.
2 Salía de Betel a Luz, y pasaba por el límite de los arquitas hasta Atarot;
It extended west from Jericho to the hilly area near Bethel, which is also called Luz. It extended as far as Ataroth, at the border of the land where the Arki people-group lived.
3 y descendía hacia el oeste hasta el límite de los jafletitas, hasta el límite de Bet Horón el inferior, y seguía hasta Gezer; y terminaba en el mar.
From there it extended west to the border of the land where the Japhleti people-group lived, and then it extended west to the area near Lower Beth-Horon. From there it extended west to Gezer [city] and from there to the [Mediterranean] Sea.
4 Los hijos de José, Manasés y Efraín, tomaron su herencia.
That is the land that the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh were allotted.
5 Este fue el límite de los hijos de Efraín según sus familias. El límite de su herencia hacia el este era Atarot Addar, hasta Bet Horón el superior.
The border of the land that was allotted to the clans of the tribe of Ephraim started at Ataroth-Addar [city] in the east. It extended to Upper Beth-Horon
6 La frontera salía hacia el oeste en Micmetat, al norte. La frontera giraba hacia el este hasta Taanat Silo, y pasaba por ella al este de Janoa.
and from there to the [Mediterranean] Sea.
7 Bajaba de Janoa a Atarot, a Naarah, llegaba a Jericó y salía al Jordán.
From Michmethath [on the north] it extended east to Taanath and from there on to Janoah. From there it extended [south] to Ataroth [city] and to Naarah [town]. From there it extended to Jericho and from there to the Jordan [River].
8 Desde Tappua, el límite se extendía hacia el oeste hasta el arroyo de Caná, y terminaba en el mar. Esta es la herencia de la tribu de los hijos de Efraín según sus familias;
The [northern] border extended from Tappuah west to Kanah Ravine, and ended at the [Mediterranean] Sea. That was the land that was allotted to the tribe of Ephraim.
9 junto con las ciudades que fueron apartadas para los hijos de Efraín en medio de la herencia de los hijos de Manasés, todas las ciudades con sus aldeas.
Many of those towns were really within the area allotted to the tribe of Manasseh.
10 No expulsaron a los cananeos que vivían en Gezer; pero los cananeos habitan en el territorio de Efraín hasta el día de hoy, y se han convertido en siervos para realizar trabajos forzados.
The people of the tribe of Ephraim could not force the Canaan people-group to leave Gezer, so the Canaan people-group still live among the people of the tribe of Ephraim, but the Israelis forced the people of the Canaan people-group to become their slaves.
