Josué 14

1 Estas son las herencias que los hijos de Israel tomaron en la tierra de Canaán, y que el sacerdote Eleazar, Josué hijo de Nun, y los jefes de las casas paternas de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, les repartieron,

And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them.

2 por la suerte de su herencia, como Yahvé lo mandó por medio de Moisés, para las nueve tribus y para la media tribu.

By lot was their inheritance, as YHWH commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.

3 Porque Moisés había dado la herencia de las dos tribus y de la media tribu al otro lado del Jordán; pero a los levitas no les dio herencia entre ellos.

For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.

4 Porque los hijos de José eran dos tribus, Manasés y Efraín. A los levitas no les dio ninguna porción en la tierra, excepto ciudades para habitar, con sus tierras de pastoreo para su ganado y para sus propiedades.

For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.

5 Los hijos de Israel hicieron lo que Yahvé ordenó a Moisés, y repartieron la tierra.

As YHWH commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.

6 Entonces los hijos de Judá se acercaron a Josué en Gilgal. Caleb, hijo de Jefone cenecista, le dijo: “Tú sabes lo que Yahvé habló a Moisés, el hombre de Dios, acerca de mí y de ti en Cades Barnea.

Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that YHWH said unto Moses the man of Elohim concerning me and thee in Kadesh-barnea.

7 Yo tenía cuarenta años cuando Moisés, el siervo de Yahvé, me envió desde Cades Barnea a espiar la tierra. Le llevé la noticia tal como estaba en mi corazón.

Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of YHWH sent me from Kadesh-barnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.

8 Sin embargo, mis hermanos que subieron conmigo hicieron que el corazón del pueblo se derritiera; pero yo seguí totalmente a Yahvé, mi Dios.

Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed YHWH my Elohim.

9 Aquel día Moisés juró diciendo: ‘Ciertamente la tierra por la que has caminado será una herencia para ti y para tus hijos para siempre, porque has seguido enteramente a Yahvé mi Dios’.

And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed YHWH my Elohim.

10 “Ahora bien, he aquí que el Señor me ha mantenido con vida, tal como habló, estos cuarenta y cinco años, desde el momento en que el Señor habló esta palabra a Moisés, mientras Israel caminaba por el desierto. Hoy tengo ochenta y cinco años.

And now, behold, YHWH hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since YHWH spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.

11 Pero hoy soy tan fuerte como el día en que Moisés me envió. Como era mi fuerza entonces, así es ahora mi fuerza para la guerra, para salir y para entrar.

As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.

12 Ahora, pues, dame esta región montañosa, de la cual habló el Señor en aquel día; porque tú oíste en aquel día cómo estaban allí los anakim, y ciudades grandes y fortificadas. Puede ser que Yahvé esté conmigo y los expulse, como dijo Yahvé”.

Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof YHWH spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be YHWH will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as YHWH said.

13 Josué lo bendijo, y le dio Hebrón a Caleb, hijo de Jefone, como herencia.

And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.

14 Por lo tanto, Hebrón pasó a ser la herencia de Caleb, hijo de Jefone, el cenecista, hasta el día de hoy, porque siguió a Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, de todo corazón.

Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed YHWH Elohim of Israel.

15 Antes el nombre de Hebrón era Quiriat Arba, en honor al hombre más grande de los anakim. Entonces la tierra descansó de la guerra.

And the name of Hebron before was Kirjath-arba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.
