Juan 7
1 Después de estas cosas, Jesús andaba por Galilea, pues no quería andar por Judea, porque los judíos buscaban matarlo.
After that Iesus wet about in Galile and wolde not go about in Iewry for the Iewes sought to kill him.
2 Se acercaba la fiesta de los judíos, la Fiesta de los Tabernáculos.
The Iewes tabernacle feast was at honde.
3 Entonces sus hermanos le dijeron: “Sal de aquí y vete a Judea, para que también tus discípulos vean las obras que haces.
His brethren therfore sayde vnto him: get ye hence and go into Iewry yt thy disciples maye se thy workes yt thou doest.
4 Porque nadie hace nada en secreto mientras busca ser conocido abiertamente. Si haces estas cosas, date a conocer al mundo”.
For ther is no man yt doeth eny thing secretly and he him selfe seketh to be knowen. Yf thou do soche thinges shewe thy selfe to the worlde.
5 Porque ni siquiera sus hermanos creían en él.
For as yet his brethre beleved not in him.
6 Por eso, Jesús les dijo: “Todavía no ha llegado mi hora, pero vuestra hora está siempre lista.
Then Iesus sayd vnto them: My tyme is not yet come youre tyme is all waye redy.
7 El mundo no puede odiaros, pero me odia a mí, porque yo doy testimonio de él, de que sus obras son malas.
The worlde canot hate you. Me it hateth: because I testify of it that the workes of it are evyll.
8 Vosotros subid a la fiesta. Yo todavía no subo a esta fiesta, porque mi tiempo aún no se ha cumplido.”
Go ye vp vnto this feast. I will not go vp yet vnto this feast for my tyme is not yet full come.
9 Habiéndoles dicho estas cosas, se quedó en Galilea.
These wordes he sayde vnto them and abode still in Galile.
10 Pero cuando sus hermanos subieron a la fiesta, él también subió, no en público, sino como en secreto.
But assone as his brethren were goone vp then went he also vp vnto the feast: not openly but as it were prevely.
11 Los judíos, pues, le buscaban en la fiesta y decían: “¿Dónde está?”.
Then sought him the Iewes at ye feast and sayde: Where is he?
12 Había mucha murmuración entre las multitudes acerca de él. Algunos decían: “Es un buen hombre”. Otros decían: “No es así, sino que extravía a la multitud”.
And moche murmurynge was ther of him amonge the people. Some sayde: He is good. Wother sayde naye but he deceaveth the people.
13 Pero nadie hablaba abiertamente de él por miedo a los judíos.
How be it no ma spake openly of him for feare of the Iewes
14 Pero cuando ya era la mitad de la fiesta, Jesús subió al templo y enseñó.
In ye middes of the feast Iesus went vp into the temple and taught.
15 Entonces los judíos se maravillaron, diciendo: “¿Cómo sabe éste las letras, no habiendo sido educado?”
And the Iewes marveylled sayinge: How knoweth he ye scriptures seynge yt he never learned?
16 Por eso Jesús les respondió: “Mi enseñanza no es mía, sino de quien me ha enviado.
Iesus answered them and sayde: My doctrine is not myne: but his that sent me.
17 Si alguien quiere hacer su voluntad, conocerá la enseñanza, si viene de Dios o si hablo por mi cuenta.
If eny man will do his will he shall knowe of the doctrine whether it be of God or whether I speake of my selfe.
18 El que habla por su cuenta busca su propia gloria, pero el que busca la gloria del que lo envió es veraz, y no hay en él ninguna injusticia.
He that speaketh of him selfe seketh his awne prayse. But he that seketh his prayse that sent him the same is true and no vnrightewesnes is in him.
19 ¿No os dio Moisés la ley, y sin embargo ninguno de vosotros la cumple? ¿Por qué buscáis matarme?”
Dyd not Moses geve you a lawe and yet none of you kepeth ye lawe? Why goo ye aboute to kyll me?
20 La multitud respondió: “¡Tienes un demonio! ¿Quién busca matarte?”
The people answered and sayde: thou hast the devyll: who goeth aboute to kyll the?
21 Jesús les respondió: “Yo hice una obra y todos ustedes se maravillan por ella.
Iesus answered and sayde to them: I have done one worke and ye all marvayle.
22 Moisés os ha dado la circuncisión (no es de Moisés, sino de los padres), y en sábado circuncidáis a un muchacho.
Moses therfore gave vnto you circumcision: not because it is of Moses but of the fathers. And yet ye on the Saboth daye circumcise a man.
23 Si un muchacho recibe la circuncisión en sábado, para que no se infrinja la ley de Moisés, ¿os enfadáis conmigo porque he hecho a un hombre completamente sano en sábado?
If a man on the Saboth daye receave circumcision without breakinge of the lawe of Moses: disdayne ye at me because I have made a man every whit whoale on the saboth daye?
24 No juzguéis según las apariencias, sino juzgad con rectitud.”
Iudge not after the vtter aperaunce: but iudge rightewes iudgement.
25 Por eso algunos de los de Jerusalén dijeron: “¿No es éste al que quieren matar?
Then sayd some of them of Ierusalem: Is not this he who they goo aboute to kyll?
26 He aquí que habla abiertamente, y no le dicen nada. ¿Es posible que los gobernantes sepan que éste es verdaderamente el Cristo?
Beholde he speaketh boldly and they saye nothinge to him. Do the rulars knowe in dede that this is very Christ?
27 Sin embargo, nosotros sabemos de dónde viene este hombre, pero cuando venga el Cristo, nadie sabrá de dónde viene.”
How be it we knowe this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh no man shall knowe whence he is.
28 Por eso Jesús alzó la voz en el templo, enseñando y diciendo: “Vosotros me conocéis y sabéis de dónde vengo. No he venido por mí mismo, sino que es verdadero el que me ha enviado, a quien vosotros no conocéis.
Then cryed Iesus in ye temple as he taught sayinge: ye knowe me and whence I am ye knowe. And yet I am not come of my selfe but he yt sent me is true whom ye knowe not.
29 Yo lo conozco, porque vengo de él, y él me ha enviado”.
I knowe him: for I am of him and he hath sent me.
30 Buscaban, pues, prenderle; pero nadie le echó mano, porque aún no había llegado su hora.
Then they sought to take him: but no ma layde hondes on him because his tyme was not yet come.
31 Pero de la multitud, muchos creyeron en él. Decían: “Cuando venga el Cristo, no hará más señales que las que ha hecho este hombre, ¿verdad?”
Many of the people beleved on him and sayde: when Christ cometh will he do moo miracles then this man hath done?
32 Los fariseos oyeron que la multitud murmuraba estas cosas acerca de él, y los jefes de los sacerdotes y los fariseos enviaron oficiales para arrestarlo.
The pharises hearde that the people murmured suche thinges about him. Wherfore ye pharises and hye prestes sent ministres forthe to take him.
33 Entonces Jesús dijo: “Estaré con vosotros un poco más, y luego me iré con el que me ha enviado.
Then sayde Iesus vnto the: Yet am I a lytell whyle with you and then goo I vnto him that sent me.
34 Me buscaréis y no me encontraréis. No podéis venir donde yo estoy”.
Ye shall seke me and shall not fynde me: and where I am thyther can ye not come.
35 Los judíos, pues, decían entre sí: “¿Adónde irá este hombre para que no lo encontremos? ¿Irá a la Dispersión entre los griegos y enseñará a los griegos?
Then sayde the Iewes bitwene the selves: whyther will he goo that we shall not fynde him? Will he goo amonge the gentyls which are scattered all a broade and teache the gentyls?
36 ¿Qué es esto que ha dicho: “Me buscaréis y no me encontraréis”, y “Donde yo esté, vosotros no podréis venir”?”
What maner of sayinge is this that he sayde: ye shall seke me and shall not fynde me: and where I am thyther can ye not come?
37 El último y más importante día de la fiesta, Jesús se puso en pie y alzó la voz: “Si alguien tiene sed, que venga a mí y beba.
In the last daye that great daye of the feaste Iesus stode and cryed sayinge: If eny man thyrst let him come vnto me and drinke.
38 El que cree en mí, como dice la Escritura, de su interior brotarán ríos de agua viva.”
He that beleveth on me as sayeth the scripture out of his belly shall flowe ryvers of water of lyfe.
39 Pero esto lo dijo a propósito del Espíritu, que iban a recibir los que creyeran en él. Porque el Espíritu Santo no se había dado aún, porque Jesús no estaba todavía glorificado.
This spak he of the sprete which they that beleved on him shuld receave. For the holy goost was not yet there because that Iesus was not yet glorifyed.
40 Por lo tanto, muchos de la multitud, al oír estas palabras, dijeron: “Este es verdaderamente el profeta”.
Many of the people when they hearde this sayinge sayd: of a truth this is a prophet
41 Otros decían: “Este es el Cristo”. Pero algunos decían: “¿Qué, el Cristo sale de Galilea?
Other sayde: this is Christ. Some sayde: shall Christ come out of Galile?
42 ¿No ha dicho la Escritura que el Cristo viene de la estirpe de David y de Belén, la aldea donde estuvo David?”
Sayeth not the scripture that Christ shall come of the seed of David: and out of the toune of Bethleem where David was?
43 Así que surgió una división en la multitud a causa de él.
So was ther dissencion amonge the people aboute him.
44 Algunos querían prenderle, pero nadie le echó mano.
And some of them wolde have taken him: but no man layed hondes on him.
45 Los oficiales, pues, acudieron a los sumos sacerdotes y a los fariseos, y les dijeron: “¿Por qué no le habéis traído?”
Then came ye ministres to ye hye prestes and pharises. And they sayde vnto the: why have ye not brought him?
46 Los oficiales respondieron: “¡Nunca nadie habló como este hombre!”
The servautes answered never man spake as this man doeth.
47 Los fariseos, por tanto, les respondieron: “¿No estaréis también vosotros engañados, verdad?
Then answered the the pharises: are ye also disceaved?
48 ¿Acaso ha creído en él alguno de los gobernantes o alguno de los fariseos?
Doth eny of the rulers or of the pharises beleve on him?
49 Pero esta multitud que no conoce la ley es maldita”.
But the comen people whiche knowe not ye lawe are cursed.
50 Nicodemo (el que vino a él de noche, siendo uno de ellos) les dijo:
Nicodemus sayde vnto them: He that came to Iesus by nyght and was one of them.
51 “¿Acaso nuestra ley juzga a un hombre si antes no lo oye personalmente y sabe lo que hace?”
Doth oure lawe iudge eny man before it heare him and knowe what he hath done?
52 Le respondieron: “¿Tú también eres de Galilea? Busca y ve que no ha surgido ningún profeta de Galilea”.
They answered and sayde vnto him: arte thou also of Galile? Searche and loke for out of Galile aryseth no Prophet.
53 Cada uno se fue a su casa,
And every man went vnto his awne housse.
