Job 5
1 “Llama ahora; ¿hay alguien que te responda? ¿A cuál de los santos te dirigirás?
Call now, if there is any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?
2 Porque el resentimiento mata al necio, y los celos matan a los simples.
For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.
3 He visto a los insensatos echar raíces, pero de repente maldije su morada.
I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
4 Sus hijos están lejos de la seguridad. Son aplastados en la puerta. Tampoco hay ninguno que los entregue,
His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither [is there] any to deliver [them].
5 cuya cosecha devoran los hambrientos, y sacarlo incluso de las espinas. La trampa se abre para su sustancia.
Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.
6 Porque la aflicción no sale del polvo, tampoco los problemas surgen de la tierra;
Although affliction cometh not forth from the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;
7 pero el hombre ha nacido para el problema, mientras las chispas vuelan hacia arriba.
Yet man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
8 “Pero en cuanto a mí, buscaría a Dios. Yo encomendaría mi causa a Dios,
I would seek to God, and to God would I commit my cause:
9 que hace grandes cosas que no se pueden comprender, cosas maravillosas sin número;
Who doeth great things and unsearchable; wonderful things without number:
10 que hace llover sobre la tierra, y envía aguas sobre los campos;
Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:
11 para que ponga en alto a los de abajo, los que lloran son exaltados a la seguridad.
To set on high those that are low: that those who mourn may be exalted to safety.
12 Él frustra los planes de los astutos, para que sus manos no puedan realizar su empresa.
He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform [their] enterprise.
13 El toma a los sabios en su propia astucia; el consejo de los astutos se lleva de cabeza.
He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.
14 Se encuentran con la oscuridad durante el día, y tantear al mediodía como en la noche.
They meet with darkness in the day-time, and grope in the noon-day as in the night.
15 Pero él salva de la espada de su boca, incluso a los necesitados de la mano de los poderosos.
But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
16 Así que el pobre tiene esperanza, y la injusticia le cierra la boca.
So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
17 “He aquí que es feliz el hombre a quien Dios corrige. Por lo tanto, no desprecies el castigo del Todopoderoso.
Behold, happy [is] the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
18 Porque él hiere y venda. Se hiere y sus manos se recomponen.
For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
19 Él te librará en seis problemas; sí, en siete ningún mal te tocará.
He will deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
20 En el hambre te reducirá de la muerte; en la guerra, del poder de la espada.
In famine he will redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
21 Estarás oculto del azote de la lengua, ni tendrás miedo de la destrucción cuando llegue.
Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
22 Te reirás de la destrucción y del hambre, ni tendrás miedo de los animales de la tierra.
At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
23 Porque serás aliado de las piedras del campo. Los animales del campo estarán en paz contigo.
For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
24 Sabrás que tu tienda está en paz. Visitarás tu redil y no echarás nada en falta.
And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle [will be] in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.
25 También sabrás que tu descendencia será grande, tu descendencia como la hierba de la tierra.
Thou shalt know also that thy seed [will be] great, and thy offspring as the grass of the earth.
26 Llegarás a la tumba en plena edad, como una descarga de grano viene en su temporada.
Thou shalt come to [thy] grave in a full age, as a shock of corn cometh in in its season.
27 He aquí que lo hemos investigado. Así es. Escúchalo y conócelo para tu bien”.
Lo this, we have searched it, so it [is]; hear it, and know thou [it] for thy good.
