Job 40
1 Además, Yahvé respondió a Job,
Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
2 “¿Acaso el que discute puede contender con el Todopoderoso? El que discute con Dios, que responda”.
Shall he that cavilleth contend with the Almighty? he that argueth with God, let him answer it.
3 Entonces Job respondió a Yahvé,
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
4 “He aquí que soy de poca monta. ¿Qué te voy a responder? Me pongo la mano en la boca.
Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer thee? I lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 He hablado una vez y no voy a responder; Sí, dos veces, pero no seguiré adelante”.
Once have I spoken, and I will not answer; yea twice, but I will proceed no further.
6 Entonces Yahvé respondió a Job desde el torbellino:
Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 “Ahora prepárate como un hombre. Te interrogaré, y tú me responderás.
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 ¿Acaso anularás mi juicio? ¿Me condenas para justificarte?
Wilt thou even disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified?
9 ¿O es que tienes un brazo como Dios? ¿Se puede tronar con una voz como la suya?
Or hast thou an arm like God? and canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 “Ahora adórnate con excelencia y dignidad. Arréglate con honor y majestuosidad.
Deck thyself now with excellency and dignity; and array thyself with honour and majesty.
11 Derrama la furia de tu ira. Mira a todos los que son orgullosos, y bájalos.
Pour forth the overflowings of thine anger: and look upon every one that is proud, and abase him.
12 Mira a todo el que es orgulloso, y humíllalo. Aplasta a los malvados en su lugar.
Look on every one that is proud, [and] bring him low; and tread down the wicked where they stand.
13 Escóndelos juntos en el polvo. Ata sus rostros en el lugar oculto.
Hide them in the dust together; bind their faces in the hidden [place].
14 Entonces también te admitiré que tu propia mano derecha puede salvarte.
Then wilt I also confess of thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
15 “Mira ahora el behemoth, que yo he hecho igual que tú. Come hierba como un buey.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as all ox.
16 Mira ahora, su fuerza está en sus muslos. Su fuerza está en los músculos de su vientre.
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the muscles of his belly.
17 Mueve su cola como un cedro. Los tendones de sus muslos están unidos.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his thighs are knit together.
18 Sus huesos son como tubos de bronce. Sus miembros son como barras de hierro.
His bones are as tubes of brass; his limbs are like bars of iron.
19 Él es el principal de los caminos de Dios. El que lo hizo le da su espada.
He is the chief of the ways of God: he [only] that made him can make his sword to approach [unto him].
20 Ciertamente, las montañas producen alimento para él, donde juegan todos los animales del campo.
Surely the mountains bring him forth food; where all the beasts of the field do play.
21 Se acuesta bajo los árboles de loto, en la cobertura del carrizo, y el pantano.
He lieth under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the fen.
22 Los lotos lo cubren con su sombra. Los sauces del arroyo lo rodean.
The lotus trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 He aquí que si un río se desborda, no tiembla. Se muestra confiado, aunque el Jordán se hincha hasta la boca.
Behold, if a river overflow, he trembleth not: he is confident, though Jordan swell even to his mouth.
24 Lo tomará cualquiercuando esté de guardia, o atravesar su nariz con un lazo?
Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?
