Job 37
1 “Sí, ante esto mi corazón tiembla, y es desplazado de su lugar.
“Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place.
2 Escucha, oh, escucha el ruido de su voz, el sonido que sale de su boca.
Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.
3 Lo envía bajo todo el cielo, y sus rayos hasta los confines de la tierra.
He sends it out under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.
4 Tras ella ruge una voz. Truena con la voz de su majestad. No se guarda nada cuando se escucha su voz.
After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard.
5 Dios truena maravillosamente con su voz. Él hace grandes cosas, que no podemos comprender.
God thunders marvellously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.
6 Porque dice a la nieve: “Cae sobre la tierra”. también a la lluvia, y a los chubascos de su poderosa lluvia.
For he says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain.
7 Él sella la mano de cada hombre, para que todos los hombres a los que ha hecho lo conozcan.
He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it.
8 Entonces los animales se ponen a cubierto, y permanecen en sus guaridas.
Then the animals take cover, and remain in their dens.
9 De su habitación sale la tormenta, y el frío del norte.
Out of its room comes the storm, and cold out of the north.
10 Por el soplo de Dios se da el hielo, y la anchura de las aguas está congelada.
By the breath of God, ice is given, and the width of the waters is frozen.
11 Sí, carga la espesa nube con humedad. Extiende la nube de su rayo.
Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.
12 Se ha dado la vuelta gracias a su guía, para que hagan todo lo que él les mande en la superficie del mundo habitable,
It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world,
13 ya sea por la corrección, o por su tierra, o por la bondad amorosa, que la hace venir.
whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.
14 “Escucha esto, Job. Quédate quieto y considera las obras maravillosas de Dios.
“Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
15 ¿Sabes cómo los controla Dios? y hace brillar el rayo de su nube?
Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?
16 ¿Conoces el funcionamiento de las nubes, las obras maravillosas de aquel que es perfecto en el conocimiento?
Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?
17 Tú, cuya ropa es cálida cuando la tierra está quieta a causa del viento del sur?
You whose clothing is warm when the earth is still by reason of the south wind?
18 ¿Puedes, con él, extender el cielo, que es fuerte como un espejo de metal fundido?
Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror?
19 Enséñanos lo que le vamos a decir, porque no podemos hacer nuestro caso a causa de la oscuridad.
Teach us what we will tell him, for we can’t make our case by reason of darkness.
20 ¿Se le dirá que voy a hablar? ¿O debería un hombre desear ser tragado?
Will it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?
21 Los hombres no ven la luz que brilla en los cielos, pero el viento pasa y los despeja.
Now men don’t see the light which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes, and clears them.
22 Del norte viene el esplendor dorado. Con Dios hay una majestuosidad impresionante.
Out of the north comes golden splendour. With God is awesome majesty.
23 No podemos llegar al Todopoderoso. Está exaltado en el poder. Con justicia y gran rectitud, no oprimirá.
We can’t reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.
24 Por eso los hombres lo veneran. No tiene en cuenta a los sabios de corazón”.
Therefore men revere him. He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart.”
