Job 36
1 Eliú también continuó, y dijo,
Elihu also proceeded, and said:
2 “Tened un poco de paciencia conmigo y os lo mostraré; porque todavía tengo algo que decir en nombre de Dios.
Suffer me a little, and I will tell thee; for there are yet words on God's behalf.
3 Obtendré mis conocimientos desde lejos, y atribuiré la justicia a mi Hacedor.
I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
4 Porque en verdad mis palabras no son falsas. Uno que es perfecto en conocimiento está contigo.
For truly my words are not false; one that is upright in mind is with thee.
5 “He aquí que Dios es poderoso y no desprecia a nadie. Es poderoso en la fuerza del entendimiento.
Behold, God is mighty, yet He despiseth not any; He is mighty in strength of understanding.
6 No preserva la vida de los malvados, sino que hace justicia a los afligidos.
He preserveth not the life of the wicked; but giveth to the poor their right.
7 No aparta sus ojos de los justos, pero con reyes en el trono, los pone para siempre, y son exaltados.
He withdraweth not His eyes from the righteous; but with kings upon the throne He setteth them for ever, and they are exalted.
8 Si están atados con grilletes, y son tomados en las cuerdas de las aflicciones,
And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;
9 luego les muestra su trabajo, y sus transgresiones, que se han comportado con orgullo.
Then He declareth unto them their work, and their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves proudly.
10 También les abre los oídos a la instrucción, y ordena que vuelvan de la iniquidad.
He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
11 Si le escuchan y le sirven, pasarán sus días en la prosperidad, y sus años en los placeres.
If they hearken and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
12 Pero si no escuchan, perecerán a espada; morirán sin conocimiento.
But if they hearken not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
13 “Pero los impíos de corazón acumulan ira. No gritan pidiendo ayuda cuando los ata.
But they that are godless in heart lay up anger; they cry not for help when He bindeth them.
14 Mueren en la juventud. Su vida perece entre los impuros.
Their soul perisheth in youth, and their life as that of the depraved.
15 Él libera a los afligidos por su aflicción, y abre su oído en la opresión.
He delivereth the afflicted by His affliction, and openeth their ear by tribulation.
16 Sí, él te habría seducido por la angustia, en un lugar amplio, donde no hay restricciones. Lo que se pone en su mesa estaría lleno de grasa.
Yea, He hath allured thee out of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which is set on thy table is full of fatness;
17 “Pero tú estás lleno del juicio de los malvados. El juicio y la justicia se apoderan de ti.
And thou art full of the judgment of the wicked; judgment and justice take hold on them.
18 No dejes que las riquezas te inciten a la ira, ni dejes que el gran tamaño de un soborno te desvíe.
For beware of wrath, lest thou be led away by thy sufficiency; neither let the greatness of the ransom turn thee aside.
19 Tu riqueza te sostendría en la angustia, o todo el poder de tu fuerza?
Will thy riches avail, that are without stint, or all the forces of thy strength?
20 No desees la noche, cuando la gente es cortada en su lugar.
Desire not the night, when peoples are cut off in their place.
21 Tened cuidado, no miréis la iniquidad; porque has elegido esto antes que la aflicción.
Take heed, regard not iniquity; for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
22 He aquí que Dios es exaltado en su poder. ¿Quién es un profesor como él?
Behold, God doeth loftily in His power; who is a teacher like Him?
23 ¿Quién le ha prescrito su camino? ¿O quién puede decir: “Has cometido una injusticia”?
Who hath enjoined Him His way? Or who hath said: 'Thou hast wrought unrighteousness'?
24 “Acuérdate de que engrandeces su obra, sobre la que los hombres han cantado.
Remember that thou magnify His work, whereof men have sung.
25 Todos los hombres lo han mirado. El hombre lo ve de lejos.
All men have looked thereon; man beholdeth it afar off.
26 He aquí que Dios es grande y no lo conocemos. El número de sus años es inabarcable.
Behold, God is great, beyond our knowledge; the number of His years is unsearchable.
27 Porque él extrae las gotas de agua, que destilan en lluvia de su vapor,
For He draweth away the drops of water, which distil rain from His vapour;
28 que los cielos derraman y que caen sobre el hombre en abundancia.
Which the skies pour down and drop upon the multitudes of men.
29 En efecto, ¿puede alguien entender la propagación de las nubes y los truenos de su pabellón?
Yea, can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, the crashings of His pavilion?
30 He aquí que difunde su luz a su alrededor. Cubre el fondo del mar.
Behold, He spreadeth His light upon it; and He covereth the depths of the sea.
31 Porque por ellos juzga al pueblo. Da comida en abundancia.
For by these He judgeth the peoples; He giveth food in abundance.
32 Cubre sus manos con el rayo, y le ordena que golpee la marca.
He covereth His hands with the lightning, and giveth it a charge that it strike the mark.
33 Su ruido habla de él, y el ganado también, en lo que respecta a la tormenta que se avecina.
The noise thereof telleth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the storm that cometh up.
