Jeremías 47
1 Palabra de Yahvé que vino al profeta Jeremías sobre los filisteos, antes de que el faraón atacara Gaza.
The word of Yhwh that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.
2 Yahvé dice: “He aquí que las aguas suben del norte, y se convertirá en un arroyo desbordante, y desbordará la tierra y todo lo que hay en ella, la ciudad y los que la habitan. Los hombres llorarán, y todos los habitantes de la tierra se lamentarán.
Thus saith Yhwh; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.
3 Al ruido del estampido de los cascos de sus fuertes, al correr de sus carros, al estruendo de sus ruedas, los padres no miran atrás por sus hijos porque sus manos son muy débiles,
At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands;
4 por el día que viene para destruir a todos los filisteos, para cortar de Tiro y de Sidón todo ayudante que quede; porque Yahvé destruirá a los filisteos, el remanente de la isla de Caphtor.
Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper that remaineth: for Yhwh will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.
5 La calvicie ha llegado a Gaza; Ashkelon es llevado a la nada. Tú, remanente de su valle, ¿cuánto tiempo te vas a cortar?
Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?
6 “‘Espada de Yahvé, ¿cuánto tiempo pasará antes de que te calles? Vuelve a ponerte la vaina; Descansa y quédate quieto”.
O thou sword of Yhwh, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
7 “Cómo puedes estar tranquilo, ya que Yahvé te ha dado una orden? Contra Ashkelon, y contra la orilla del mar, allí lo ha designado”.
How can it be quiet, seeing Yhwh hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.
