Jeremías 23
1 “¡Ay de los pastores que destruyen y dispersan las ovejas de mi prado!”, dice el Señor.
Woe to the shepherds, Who lose and scatter the sheep of my pasture, saith Jehovah.
2 Por eso Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, dice contra los pastores que apacientan a mi pueblo “Ustedes han dispersado mi rebaño, lo han alejado y no lo han visitado. He aquí que yo visitaré sobre ustedes el mal de sus acciones”, dice el Señor.
For concerning the shepherds, the feeders of my people, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, And have not taken care of them. Behold, I am about to requite you For the evil of your doings, saith Jehovah.
3 “Reuniré el remanente de mi rebaño de todas las tierras a las que lo he expulsado, y lo devolveré a sus rebaños; y será fecundo y se multiplicará.
But I will gather the remnant of my flock From all the countries whither I have driven them, And I will bring them back to their folds, And they shall be fruitful and increase.
4 Pondré sobre ellas pastores que las apacienten. Ya no tendrán miedo ni se desanimarán, ni les faltará nada”, dice Yahvé.
And I will raise up shepherds over them, who shall feed them; They shall fear no more, nor be dismayed; Nor shall they be lost, saith Jehovah.
5 “He aquí que llegan los días”, dice Yahvé, “que levantaré a David una rama justa; y reinará como rey y tratará con sabiduría, y hará justicia y rectitud en la tierra.
Behold, the days are coming, saith Jehovah, When I will raise up from David a righteous Branch, And a king shall reign and prosper, And shall maintain justice and equity in the land.
6 En sus días Judá se salvará, e Israel habitará con seguridad. Este es el nombre por el que será llamado: Yahvé, nuestra justicia.
In his days Judah shall be saved, And Israel shall dwell securely; And this is the name which shall be given him, Jehovah-is-our-salvation.
7 “Por tanto, he aquí que vienen días — dice Yahvé — en que ya no dirán: “Vive Yahvé, que sacó a los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto”;
Therefore, behold, the days shall come, saith Jehovah, When they shall no more say, “As Jehovah liveth Who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt!”
8 sino: “Vive Yahvé, que sacó y condujo a la descendencia de la casa de Israel de la tierra del norte y de todas las tierras a las que los había expulsado”. Entonces habitarán en su propia tierra”.
But, “As Jehovah liveth Who brought up and led the race of Israel from the north country, And from all the countries whither I had driven them!” And they shall dwell in their own land.
9 Con respecto a los profetas: Mi corazón está roto por dentro. Todos mis huesos tiemblan. Soy como un borracho, y como un hombre al que el vino ha vencido, a causa de Yahvé, y por sus santas palabras.
Concerning the Prophets. My heart is broken within me; All my bones tremble. I am become like a drunken man, Like a man whom wine hath overcome, Because of Jehovah, And because of his holy words.
10 “Porque la tierra está llena de adúlteros; porque a causa de la maldición la tierra está de luto. Los pastos del desierto se han secado. Su curso es malvado, y su poderío no es correcto;
For the land is full of adulteries; Because of a curse doth the land mourn; The pastures of the waste are dried up; For they run to do evil, And their might is without right.
11 pues tanto el profeta como el sacerdote son profanos. Sí, en mi casa he encontrado su maldad”, dice Yahvé.
Yea, both prophet and priest are profane; Even in my house have I found their wickedness, saith Jehovah.
12 Por eso su camino será para ellos como lugares resbaladizos en la oscuridad. Serán conducidos, y caer en ella; porque traeré el mal sobre ellos, hasta el año de su visita”, dice Yahvé.
Therefore shall their way become as slippery places in the dark; They shall be driven on and fall therein; For I will bring evil upon them In the time of their visitation, saith Jehovah.
13 “He visto locura en los profetas de Samaria. Profetizaron por Baal, y ha hecho errar a mi pueblo Israel.
In the prophets of Samaria have I seen folly; They prophesy in the name of Baal, and cause my people Israel to err.
14 En los profetas de Jerusalén también he visto una cosa horrible: cometen adulterio y andan en la mentira. Fortalecen las manos de los malhechores, para que nadie vuelva de su maldad. Todos se han vuelto para mí como Sodoma, y sus habitantes como Gomorra”.
In the prophets of Jerusalem also have I seen a horrible thing; They commit adultery, and walk in falsehood; They strengthen the hands of evil-doers, So that none doth turn from his iniquity. They have all become to me as Sodom, And her inhabitants as Gomorrah.
15 Por lo tanto, el Señor de los Ejércitos dice sobre los profetas: “He aquí que los alimentaré con ajenjo, y hacerles beber agua envenenada; porque de los profetas de Jerusalén ha salido la impiedad en toda la tierra”.
Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, And give them the water of hemlock to drink; For from the prophets of Jerusalem Hath profaneness gone forth into all the land.
16 El Señor de los Ejércitos dice, “No escuchéis las palabras de los profetas que os profetizan. Te enseñan la vanidad. Hablan una visión de su propio corazón, y no de la boca de Yahvé.
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Hearken not to the words of the prophets; They lead you to vanity; They utter the vision of their own heart, And not from the mouth of Jehovah.
17 Dicen continuamente a los que me desprecian, ‘Yahvé ha dicho: “Tendrás paz”;’ y a todo aquel que camina en la terquedad de su propio corazón le dicen, ‘Ningún mal caerá sobre ti’.
To them that despise me they say continually, “Jehovah hath said, Ye shall have peace”; And to every one that walketh after the perverseness of his heart, “No evil shall come upon you.”
18 Pues quién ha estado en el consejo de Yahvé, para que perciba y escuche su palabra? ¿Quién ha escuchado mi palabra y la ha oído?
For who of them hath stood in the council of Jehovah, And hath seen and heard his word? Who hath listened to his word and heard it?
19 He aquí que la tormenta de Yahvé, su ira, ha salido. ¡Sí, una tormenta de remolinos! Estallará en la cabeza de los malvados.
Behold a whirlwind from Jehovah goeth forth in fury, Even a rushing whirlwind; Upon the head of the wicked shall it rush.
20 La ira de Yahvé no volverá hasta que haya ejecutado y realizó las intenciones de su corazón. En los últimos días, lo entenderás perfectamente.
The fierce anger of Jehovah shall not turn back, Until he shall have executed, until he shall have accomplished the purpose of his heart. In the latter days ye shall understand it fully.
21 Yo no envié a estos profetas, y sin embargo corrieron. No les hablé, y sin embargo profetizaron.
I sent not these prophets, yet they ran; I spake not to them, yet they prophesied.
22 Pero si hubieran estado en mi consejo, entonces habrían hecho que mi pueblo escuchara mis palabras, y los habría alejado de su mal camino, y de la maldad de sus actos.
For if they had stood in my council, Then would they have caused my people to hear my words, And would have turned them from their evil way. And from the wickedness of their doings.
23 “Soy un Dios cercano”, dice Yahvé, “¿y no un Dios lejano?
Am I a God near at hand, saith Jehovah, And not a God afar off?
24 ¿Puede alguien esconderse en lugares secretos ¿para que no lo vea?”, dice Yahvé. “¿No lleno yo el cielo y la tierra?”, dice Yahvé.
Can any one hide himself in secret places, So that I shall not see him? saith Jehovah; Do I nor fill heaven and earth? saith Jehovah.
25 “He oído lo que han dicho los profetas, que profetizan mentiras en mi nombre, diciendo: “¡He tenido un sueño! He tenido un sueño”.
I have heard what the prophets say, Who prophesy falsehood in my name, Saying, “I have dreamed, I have dreamed.”
26 ¿Hasta cuándo estará esto en el corazón de los profetas que profetizan mentiras, los profetas del engaño de su propio corazón?
How long shall this be In the heart of the prophets, who prophesy falsehood, The prophets of the deceit of their own heart,
27 Pretenden hacer que mi pueblo se olvide de mi nombre con sus sueños que cada uno cuenta a su prójimo, como sus padres se olvidaron de mi nombre por culpa de Baal.
Who think to cause my people to forget my name By the dreams which they relate one to another, As their fathers forgot my name through Baal?
28 El profeta que tenga un sueño, que cuente un sueño; y el que tenga mi palabra, que diga mi palabra con fidelidad. ¿Qué es la paja para el trigo?”, dice el Señor.
The prophet who hath a dream, let him tell a dream; And he that hath my word, let him speak my word truly! What is the chaff to the wheat? saith Jehovah.
29 “¿No es mi palabra como el fuego?”, dice el Señor, “y como un martillo que rompe la roca en pedazos”.
Is not my word like fire, saith Jehovah, And like a hammer, that breaketh the rock in pieces?
30 “Por tanto, he aquí que estoy contra los profetas — dice el Señor — que roban cada uno mis palabras a su prójimo.
Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, That steal my words one from another.
31 He aquí que yo estoy contra los profetas — dice el Señor — que usan su lengua y dicen: “Él dice”.
Behold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, That take their tongues and utter oracles.
32 He aquí que yo estoy contra los que profetizan sueños mentirosos — dice el Señor —, que los cuentan y hacen errar a mi pueblo con sus mentiras y con su vana jactancia; pero yo no los envié ni los mandé. No aprovechan en absoluto a este pueblo”, dice Yahvé.
Behold, I am against the prophets of false dreams, saith Jehovah, Who tell them, and cause my people to err By their lies and their arrogance. I have not sent them, nor commanded them, And they shall not profit this people at all, saith Jehovah.
33 “Cuando este pueblo, o el profeta, o un sacerdote, te pregunten diciendo: “¿Cuál es el mensaje de Yahvé? Entonces les dirás: ‘¿Qué mensaje? Te voy a expulsar”, dice el Señor.
And when this people, or a prophet, or a priest Shall ask thee, saying, “What is the burden from Jehovah?” Then say thou to them, “What is the burden?” That I will cast you away, saith Jehovah.
34 En cuanto al profeta, al sacerdote y al pueblo que digan: “El mensaje de Yahvé”, castigaré a ese hombre y a su familia.
And the prophet, the priest, and the people, Who shall say, “The burden of Jehovah,” I will punish that man and his house.
35 Cada uno dirá a su prójimo y cada uno a su hermano: “¿Qué ha respondido Yahvé?” y “¿Qué ha dicho Yahvé?”
Thus shall ye speak, one to another: “What hath Jehovah answered?” And, “What hath Jehovah spoken?”
36 No mencionaréis más el mensaje de Yahvé, porque la palabra de cada uno se ha convertido en su mensaje; porque habéis pervertido las palabras del Dios vivo, de Yahvé de los Ejércitos, nuestro Dios.
And of a burden of Jehovah shall ye speak no more; Else shall every man's word be his burden, Because ye pervert the words of the living God, Of Jehovah of hosts, our God.
37 Diréis al profeta: “¿Qué te ha respondido Yahvé?” y “¿Qué ha dicho Yahvé?’
Thus shalt thou say to the prophet: “What hath Jehovah answered thee?” And, “What hath Jehovah spoken?”
38 Aunque digáis: ‘El mensaje de Yahvé’, por eso Yahvé dice: ‘Porque decís esta palabra: “El mensaje de Yahvé”, y yo he enviado a deciros que no digáis: “El mensaje de Yahvé”,
If ye shall say, “The burden of Jehovah,” Then thus saith Jehovah: Because ye say, “The burden of Jehovah,” Although I sent to you and said, Ye shall not say, “The burden of Jehovah,”
39 por lo tanto, he aquí que os olvidaré por completo, y os echaré con la ciudad que os di a vosotros y a vuestros padres, lejos de mi presencia.
Therefore, behold, I will utterly forget you, And I will cast you, and the city which I gave to your fathers, out of my presence;
40 traeré sobre ti un oprobio eterno, y una vergüenza perpetua, que no será olvidada.’”
And I will bring upon you an everlasting reproach, And a perpetual shame which shall not be forgotten.
