Isaías 1
1 Visión de Isaías, hijo de Amoz, que vio sobre Judá y Jerusalén, en los días de Uzías, Jotam, Acaz y Ezequías, reyes de Judá.
The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
2 Oíd, cielos, y escucha, tierra; porque Yahvé ha hablado: “He alimentado y criado a niños y se han rebelado contra mí.
Hear, heavens, and listen, earth; for the LORD has spoken: I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
3 El buey conoce a su dueño, y el burro el pesebre de su amo; pero Israel no lo sabe. Mi gente no tiene en cuenta”.
The ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master's crib; but Israel doesn't know, my people do not understand.
4 Ah nación pecadora, un pueblo cargado de iniquidad, descendencia de los malhechores, ¡los niños que hacen tratos corruptos! Han abandonado a Yahvé. Han despreciado al Santo de Israel. Están distanciados y atrasados.
Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly. They have forsaken the LORD. They have despised the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged and backward.
5 Por qué hay que golpear más, que te revuelves cada vez más? Toda la cabeza está enferma, y todo el corazón se desmaya.
Why should you be beaten more, that you revolt more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6 Desde la planta del pie hasta la cabeza no hay solidez en él, sino heridas, ronchas y llagas abiertas. No han sido cerradas, vendadas o calmadas con aceite.
From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it: wounds, welts, and open sores. They haven't been closed, neither bandaged, neither soothed with oil.
7 Tu país está desolado. Sus ciudades se han quemado con fuego. Los extraños devoran tu tierra en tu presencia y está desolada, como derrocado por extraños.
Your country is desolate. Your cities are burned with fire. Strangers devour your land in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
8 La hija de Sión queda como un refugio en una viña, como una cabaña en un campo de melones, como una ciudad sitiada.
The daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of cucumbers, like a besieged city.
9 A no ser que Yahvé de los Ejércitos nos haya dejado un remanente muy pequeño, habríamos sido como Sodoma. Habríamos sido como Gomorra.
Unless the LORD of hosts had left us a few survivors, we would have been as Sodom, and we would have been like Gomorrah.
10 ¡Oigan la palabra de Yahvé, gobernantes de Sodoma! Escuchen la ley de nuestro Dios, ¡gente de Gomorra!
Hear the word of the LORD, you rulers of Sodom. Listen to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah.
11 “¿Cuál es la multitud de tus sacrificios para mí?”, dice Yahvé. “Estoy harto de los holocaustos de carneros y la grasa de los animales alimentados. No me deleito con la sangre de los toros, o de corderos, o de machos cabríos.
"What are the multitude of your sacrifices to me?," says the LORD. "I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed animals. I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of male goats.
12 Cuando vengas a comparecer ante mí, ¿Quién ha exigido esto de tu mano, para pisotear mis tribunales?
When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts?
13 No traigas más ofrendas vanas. El incienso es una abominación para mí. Lunas nuevas, sábados y convocatorias... No soporto las asambleas malignas.
Bring no more vain offerings. Incense is an abomination to me; new moons, Sabbaths, and convocations: I can't bear with evil assemblies.
14 Mi alma odia tus lunas nuevas y tus fiestas señaladas. Son una carga para mí. Estoy cansado de soportarlas.
My soul hates your New Moons and your appointed feasts. They are a burden to me. I am weary of bearing them.
15 Cuando extiendas tus manos, ocultaré mis ojos de ti. Sí, cuando hagas muchas oraciones, no te escucharé. Tus manos están llenas de sangre.
When you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you. Yes, when you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.
16 Lávense. Límpiense. Quita la maldad de tus acciones de delante de mis ojos. Deja de hacer el mal.
Wash yourselves, make yourself clean. Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. Cease to do evil.
17 Aprender a hacerlo bien. Busca la justicia. Aliviar a los oprimidos. Defiende a los huérfanos. Ruega por la viuda”.
Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Judge the fatherless. Plead for the widow."
18 “Ven ahora y razonemos juntos”, dice Yahvé: “Aunque tus pecados sean como la grana, serán blancos como la nieve. Aunque sean rojos como el carmesí, serán como la lana.
"Come now, and let us reason together," says the LORD: "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19 Si estás dispuesto y eres obediente, comerás el bien de la tierra;
If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;
20 pero si os negáis y os rebeláis, seréis devorados por la espada; porque la boca de Yahvé lo ha dicho”.
but if you refuse and rebel, the sword shall devour you; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it."
21 ¡Cómo la ciudad fiel se ha convertido en una prostituta! Estaba llena de justicia. La justicia se alojó en ella, pero ahora hay asesinos.
How the faithful city has become a prostitute. She was full of justice; righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers.
22 Tu plata se ha convertido en escoria, su vino mezclado con agua.
Your silver has become dross, your wine mixed with water.
23 Tus príncipes son rebeldes y compañeros de los ladrones. A todo el mundo le gustan los sobornos y va detrás de las recompensas. No defienden a los huérfanos, ni la causa de la viuda llega a ellos.
Your rulers are rebellious, companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe, chasing after payoffs. They do not judge the fatherless, neither does the cause of the widow come to them.
24 Por eso el Señor, Yahvé de los Ejércitos, el Poderoso de Israel, dice: “Ah, me aliviaré de mis adversarios, y vengarme de mis enemigos.
Therefore the LORD of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, says: "Ah, I will get relief from my adversaries, and avenge myself of my enemies;
25 Volveré mi mano sobre ti, purga a fondo tu escoria, y se llevará toda su lata.
and I will turn my hand against you, and I will purge away your dross, and I will take away all your slag.
26 Restauraré a tus jueces como al principio, y sus consejeros como al principio. Después serás llamada ‘La ciudad de la justicia’, un pueblo fiel”.
I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called 'The city of righteousness, a faithful town.'
27 Sión será redimida con justicia, y sus conversos con la justicia.
Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her converts with righteousness.
28 Pero la destrucción de los transgresores y de los pecadores será conjunta, y los que abandonen a Yahvé serán consumidos.
But the destruction of transgressors and sinners shall be together, and those who forsake the LORD shall be consumed.
29 Porque se avergonzarán de las encinas que has deseado, y serás confundido por los jardines que has elegido.
For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired, and you shall be confounded for the gardens that you have chosen.
30 Porque serás como un roble cuya hoja se marchita, y como un jardín que no tiene agua.
For you shall be as an oak whose leaf fades, and as a garden that has no water.
31 Los fuertes serán como la yesca, y su trabajo como una chispa. Ambos arderán juntos, y nadie los apagará”.
The strong will be like tinder, and his work like a spark. They will both burn together, and no one will quench them."
