Isaías 27
1 En aquel día, Yahvé, con su espada dura, grande y fuerte, castigará al leviatán, la serpiente que huye, y al leviatán, la serpiente retorcida; y matará al dragón que está en el mar.
In that day will Jehovah punish with his sword, His hard, and great, and strong sword, The leviathan, that fleet serpent, Even the leviathan, that winding serpent; Yea, he will slay the monster, that is in the sea.
2 En ese día, cántale: “¡Una viña agradable!
In that day, sing ye thus concerning the vineyard:
3 Yo, Yahvé, soy su guardián. La regaré a cada momento. Para que nadie la dañe, la guardaré de noche y de día.
“I, Jehovah, am its guardian; I will water it every moment; That no one may assault it, I will watch it day and night.
4 No hay ira en mí, pero si encontrara cardos y espinas, ¡haría la batalla! Marcharía sobre ellos y los quemaría juntos.
There is no fury in me; But let me find the thorns and thistles in battle. I will go against them, And burn them up together,
5 O bien, que se apodere de mi fuerza, para que haga las paces conmigo. Que haga las paces conmigo”.
Unless they take hold of my protection, And with me make peace, And make peace with me.”
6 En los días venideros, Jacob echará raíces. Israel florecerá y brotará. Llenarán de frutos la superficie del mundo.
In coming days shall Jacob take root, And Israel flourish and bud forth, And fill the world with fruit.
7 ¿Los ha golpeado como golpeó a los que los golpearon? ¿O los ha matado como mató a los que los mataron?
Did he smite Israel, as he smote those that smote him? Was he slain as those that slew him?
8 En la medida en que los expulsa, contiende con ellos. Los ha eliminado con su áspera ráfaga en el día del viento del este.
In measure, by sending her away, didst thou punish her, Taking her away in the rough tempest, in the day of the east wind.
9 Por tanto, con esto será perdonada la iniquidad de Jacob, y éste es todo el fruto de la remoción de su pecado: que él haga que todas las piedras del altar sean como piedras de tiza desmenuzadas, de modo que los postes de Asera y los altares de incienso no se levanten más.
By this, therefore, is the iniquity of Jacob expiated, And this is wholly the fruit of the removal of his sin, That He has made the stones of the altar like limestones broken in pieces, And that the images of Astarte and the sun-pillars no more stand.
10 Porque la ciudad fortificada es solitaria, una morada desierta y abandonada, como el desierto. El becerro se alimentará allí, y allí se acostará, y consumirá sus ramas.
For the fortified city is desolate, A habitation forsaken, deserted like a wilderness; There doth the calf feed, and there doth he lie down, And consume her branches.
11 Cuando sus ramas se marchiten, serán cortadas. Las mujeres vendrán y les prenderán fuego, porque son un pueblo sin entendimiento. Por eso el que los hizo no tendrá compasión de ellos, y el que los formó no les mostrará ningún favor.
When her boughs are withered, they are broken off; Women come, and burn them; For it was a people of no understanding; Therefore he that made him had not mercy on him, And he that formed him showed him no favor.
12 Sucederá en ese día que Yahvé trillará desde la corriente del Éufrates hasta el arroyo de Egipto; y ustedes serán reunidos uno por uno, hijos de Israel.
But it shall come to pass in that day, That Jehovah shall gather fruit From the stream of the Euphrates to the river of Egypt, And ye shall be gathered, one by one, ye children of Israel!
13 Sucederá en ese día que se tocará una gran trompeta; y vendrán los que estaban listos para perecer en la tierra de Asiria, y los que estaban desterrados en la tierra de Egipto, y adorarán a Yahvé en el monte santo de Jerusalén.
In that day shall a great trumpet be sounded, And they shall come who are lost in the land of Assyria, And are outcasts in the land of Egypt, And shall worship Jehovah upon the holy mountain in Jerusalem.
