Isaías 24
1 He aquí que el Señor vacía la tierra, la convierte en un desierto, la revuelve y dispersa a sus habitantes.
Lo! Yahweh emptying the earth and laying it waste, —And he will overturn the face thereof, And scatter them who dwell therein.
2 Será como con el pueblo, así con el sacerdote; como con el siervo, así con su amo; como con la criada, así con su ama; como con el comprador, así con el vendedor; como con el acreedor, así con el deudor; como con el que cobra intereses, así con el que los da.
And it shall be—As the people, so, the priest, As the servant, so his lord, As the maid, so, her mistress, —As the buyer, so, the seller, As the lender, so, the borrower, As the debtor, so! his creditor.
3 La tierra será totalmente vaciada y asolada; porque Yahvé ha dicho esta palabra.
Emptied—emptied—shall be the earth yea pillaged—pillaged, —For, Yahweh, hath spoken this word.
4 La tierra se lamenta y se desvanece. El mundo languidece y se desvanece. Los pueblos elevados de la tierra languidecen.
Mourneth, fadeth, the earth Languisheth, fadeth, the world, —Languished have the lofty of the people of the earth.
5 La tierra también está contaminada bajo sus habitantes, porque han transgredido las leyes, violado los estatutos y roto el pacto eterno.
Yea the earth itself is profaned under them who dwell therein, —For they have Set aside laws, Gone beyond statute, Broken an age-abiding covenant.
6 Por eso la maldición ha devorado la tierra, y los que la habitan son hallados culpables. Por eso los habitantes de la tierra se han quemado, y han quedado pocos hombres.
For this cause, a curse, hath devoured the earth, And punished are the dwellers therein, —For this cause, are burned the inhabitants of the earth, And the men left remaining—are few.
7 El vino nuevo está de luto. La vid languidece. Todos los alegres de corazón suspiran.
Mourneth the new wine. Withereth the vine, —Sighing are all the merryhearted:
8 El júbilo de los panderetas cesa. Se acaba el sonido de los que se alegran. Cesa la alegría del arpa.
Ceased hath the mirth of timbrels, Ended is the noise of the uproarious, —Ceased hath the mirth of the lyre:
9 No beberán vino con una canción. La bebida fuerte será amarga para los que la beben.
With a song, they drink not wine, —Bitter is strong drink, to them who drink it:
10 La ciudad confusa se derrumba. Todas las casas están cerradas, para que nadie entre.
Broken down is the city of desolation, —Shut up every house that it cannot be entered.
11 Hay llanto en las calles a causa del vino. Toda la alegría se ha oscurecido. La alegría del país ha desaparecido.
There is an outcry concerning wine in the streets, —Darkened is all joy, Departed the gladness of the earth.
12 La ciudad ha quedado desolada, y la puerta ha sido golpeada por la destrucción.
There is left in the city. desolation, —And to ruins, have been broken the gate.
13 Así será en la tierra, entre los pueblos, como el temblor de un olivo, como las espigas cuando se acaba la cosecha.
When, thus, it shall be in the earth in the midst of the peoples, [There shall be] like the shaking of an olive-tree, like the going round to pick when closed is the harvest.
14 Estos alzarán su voz. Gritarán por la majestad de Yahvé. Gritan en voz alta desde el mar.
They, shall lift up their voice—shall raise a tremulous note, —On account of the splendour of Yahweh, have they made a shrill cry, on the West;
15 ¡Glorifiquen, pues, a Yahvé en el oriente, el nombre de Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, en las islas del mar!
For this cause, In the Regions of Light, give ye glory to Yahweh, —In the Coastlands of the Sea, unto the Name of Yahweh. God of Israel,
16 Desde el extremo de la tierra se oyen cantos. ¡Gloria a los justos! Pero yo dije: “¡Me muero de ganas! Me desvanezco! ¡Ay de mí!” Los traidores han actuado con traición. Sí, los traidores han actuado con mucha traición.
From the uttermost part of the earth, melodies, have we heard—Beauty, to the righteous one! But I had said—Ruin to me! Ruin to me! Woe to me! Traitors, have betrayed, Yea traitorously, have traitors betrayed!
17 El miedo, la fosa y la trampa están sobre vosotros, los que habitáis la tierra.
Terror and pit and snare, —are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth!
18 Sucederá que el que huya del ruido del miedo caerá en la fosa; y el que salga de en medio de la fosa será apresado en el lazo; porque las ventanas de lo alto están abiertas, y los cimientos de la tierra tiemblan.
So shall it be—He that fleeth from the sound of the terror! shall fall into the pit, And, he that getteth up out of the midst of the pit, shall be captured in the snare, —For, the windows on high, have opened, And shaken are the foundations of earth.
19 La tierra está totalmente destrozada. La tierra se desgarra. La tierra es sacudida violentamente.
The earth breaketh, breaketh, —The earth crasheth, crasheth, The earth tottereth, tottereth;
20 La tierra se tambaleará como un borracho, y se balanceará de un lado a otro como una hamaca. Su desobediencia le pesará, y caerá y no se levantará.
The earth staggereth—staggereth like a drunken man, And rocketh to and fro like a night-hut, —So shall be heavy upon her, her transgression, And she shall fall and not again rise.
21 Sucederá en ese día que el Señor castigará al ejército de los altos en lo alto, y a los reyes de la tierra en la tierra.
And it shall be in that day, That Yahweh will bring punishment Upon the host of the height in the height, —And upon the kings of the ground on the ground.
22 Serán reunidos como se reúne a los prisioneros en la fosa, y serán encerrados en la cárcel; y después de muchos días serán visitados.
And they shall be swept together in a crowd, fettered for a pit, And shall be lowered into a dungeon, —And, after many days, shall they be punished.
23 Entonces la luna se confundirá y el sol se avergonzará, porque el Señor de los Ejércitos reinará en el monte Sión y en Jerusalén, y la gloria estará delante de sus ancianos.
Then shall blush the silvery moon, Then turn pale the glowing sun, —Because Yahweh of hosts hath become king In Mount Zion And in Jerusalem, And before his Elders in glory,
