Isaías 22
1 La carga del valle de la visión. ¿Qué os aflige ahora, que todos habéis subido a los tejados?
The prophecy concerning the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, That all thine inhabitants are gone up to the house-tops?
2 Tú que estás llena de gritos, ciudad tumultuosa, pueblo alegre, tus muertos no son muertos a espada, ni son muertos en la batalla.
Thou that wast full of noise, A tumultuous city, a joyous city! Thy slain fall not by the sword; They are not slain in battle.
3 Todos tus gobernantes huyeron juntos. Fueron atados por los arqueros. Todos los que fueron encontrados por ti fueron atados juntos. Huyeron lejos.
All thy leaders flee together, By the bowmen are they bound; All found within thee are made captive together, Even they who have fled from afar.
4 Por eso dije: “Mira lejos de mí. Lloraré amargamente. No te esfuerces en consolarme por la destrucción de la hija de mi pueblo.
Therefore, say I, look away from me, that I may weep bitterly; Strive not to comfort me for the desolation of the daughter of my people!
5 Porque es un día de confusión, de pisoteo y de perplejidad de parte del Señor, Yahvé de los Ejércitos, en el valle de la visión, de derrumbe de los muros y de clamor a los montes”.
For a day of trouble, of desolation, and of perplexity cometh From the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, in the valley of vision. They break down the walls; The cry reacheth to the mountains.
6 Elam llevaba su carcaj, con carros de hombres y jinetes, y Kir descubría el escudo.
Elam beareth the quiver, With chariots full of men, and with horsemen; Kir uncovereth the shield.
7 Sus valles más selectos se llenaron de carros, y los jinetes se dispusieron en la puerta.
Thy fairest valleys, [[O Jerusalem, ]] are full of chariots; The horsemen set themselves in array against the gate;
8 Quitó la cubierta de Judá; y miraste en aquel día la armadura en la casa del bosque.
The veil of Judah is torn from her. But in such a day ye look to the armor of the house of the forest;
9 Viste las brechas de la ciudad de David, que eran muchas; y recogiste las aguas del estanque inferior.
Ye mark how many are the breaches of the city of David, And collect the waters of the lower pool;
10 Contaste las casas de Jerusalén, y derribaste las casas para fortificar la muralla.
Ye number the houses of Jerusalem, And ye break down the houses to prepare the wall;
11 También hiciste un depósito entre las dos murallas para el agua del estanque viejo. Pero no miraste al que había hecho esto, ni tuviste respeto por el que lo había planeado hace tiempo.
Ye make a reservoir between the two walls for the waters of the old pool; But ye look not to Him who hath done this; Ye regard not Him that hath prepared this from afar.
12 En aquel día, el Señor, Yahvé de los Ejércitos, llamó al llanto, al luto, a la calvicie y a vestirse de cilicio;
The Lord, Jehovah of hosts, calleth you this day To weeping and to lamentation, To baldness and to girding with sackcloth.
13 y he aquí que hay alegría y gozo, matando ganado y matando ovejas, comiendo carne y bebiendo vino: “Comamos y bebamos, porque mañana moriremos.”
But, behold, joy and gladness, Slaying oxen and killing sheep, Eating flesh and drinking wine! “Let us eat and drink, For to-morrow we die!”
14 El Señor de los Ejércitos se reveló a mis oídos: “Ciertamente esta iniquidad no te será perdonada hasta que mueras”, dice el Señor, el Señor de los Ejércitos.
Therefore it hath been revealed in my ears by Jehovah of hosts; “This iniquity shall not be forgiven you, till ye die,” Saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.
15 El Señor, Yahvé de los Ejércitos, dice: “Ve, acude a este tesorero, a Sebna, que está al frente de la casa, y dile:
Thus saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts: Go in to this steward, To Shebna, who is over the household, and say,
16 ‘¿Qué haces aquí? ¿Quién te tiene aquí, que has cavado una tumba aquí?’ Se está cavando una tumba en lo alto, cincelando una morada para sí mismo en la roca!”
What hast thou here, and whom hast thou here, That thou here hewest thee out a sepulchre, —That thou hewest out thy sepulchre on high, And gravest out a habitation for thyself in the rock?
17 He aquí que el Señor te vencerá y te arrojará con violencia. Sí, te sujetará con firmeza.
Behold, Jehovah will cast thee headlong with a mighty thrust;
18 Seguramente te hará dar vueltas y vueltas, y te arrojará como una pelota a un gran país. Allí morirás, y allí estarán los carros de tu gloria, tú, desgracia de la casa de tu señor.
He will violently roll thee together like a ball; Like a ball will he hurl thee into a wide country. There shalt thou die; And there shall be thy splendid chariots, Thou disgrace of the house of thy lord!
19 Te expulsaré de tu cargo. Serás derribado de tu puesto.
I will drive thee from thy post, And from thy station I will pull thee down.
20 Sucederá en ese día que llamaré a mi siervo Eliaquim, hijo de Hilcías,
In that day I will call my servant, Even Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah;
21 y lo vestiré con tu túnica, y lo fortaleceré con tu cinturón. Pondré tu gobierno en sus manos, y será un padre para los habitantes de Jerusalén y para la casa de Judá.
I will clothe him with thy robe, And bind thy girdle around him; Thy government will I commit to his hand, And he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, And to the house of Judah.
22 Pondré la llave de la casa de David sobre su hombro. Él abrirá, y nadie cerrará. El cerrará, y nadie abrirá.
I will lay the key of the house of David upon his shoulder; He shall open, and none shall shut, And he shall shut, and none shall open.
23 Lo fijaré como un clavo en un lugar seguro. Será para la casa de su padre un trono de gloria.
I will fasten him as a peg in a sure place, And he shall be a glorious seat for his father's house.
24 De él colgarán toda la gloria de la casa de su padre, la descendencia y el caudal, toda vasija pequeña, desde las copas hasta todos los cántaros.
Upon him shall hang all the glory of his father's house, The offspring and the offshoots; Every small vessel, from the goblet even to all the pitchers.
25 “En aquel día — dice el Señor de los Ejércitos — el clavo que estaba fijado en un lugar seguro cederá. Será cortado y caerá. La carga que llevaba será cortada, porque Yahvé lo ha dicho”.
In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, The peg that was once fastened in a sure place shall be moved; It shall be cut down, and fall, And the burden which was upon it shall come to the ground. For Jehovah hath said it.
