Isaías 21
1 La carga del desierto del mar. Como los torbellinos del Sur barren, viene del desierto, de una tierra imponente.
The prophecy concerning the desert of the sea. As storms which rush along through the south, So it cometh from the desert, From the terrible land.
2 Se me declara una visión penosa. El hombre traicionero trata con traición, y el destructor destruye. Sube, Elam; ¡ataca! He detenido todos los suspiros de Media.
A grievous vision was revealed to me; The plunderer plundereth, and the destroyer destroyeth. “Go up, O Elam! Besiege, O Media! All sighing do I make to cease.”
3 Por eso mis muslos están llenos de angustia. Los dolores se han apoderado de mí, como los dolores de una mujer de parto. Tengo tanto dolor que no puedo oír. Estoy tan consternada que no puedo ver.
Therefore are my loins full of pain; Pangs have seized me, as the pangs of a woman in travail; For convulsions I cannot hear; For anguish I cannot see.
4 Mi corazón se agita. El horror me ha asustado. El crepúsculo que deseaba se ha convertido en temblor para mí.
My heart panteth, Terror hath seized upon me; The evening of my desire is changed into horror.
5 Preparan la mesa. Ponen el reloj. Comen. Beben. ¡Levántense, príncipes, engrasen el escudo!
The table is prepared; the watch is set; They eat; they drink; “Arise, ye princes! Anoint the shield!”
6 Porque el Señor me dijo: “Ve, pon un vigilante. Que declare lo que ve.
For thus said the Lord unto me: “Go, set a watchman, Who shall declare what he seeth.”
7 Cuando vea una tropa, jinetes de a dos, una tropa de asnos, una tropa de camellos, escuchará diligentemente con gran atención.”
And he saw a troop, horsemen in pairs, Riders on asses, and riders on camels, And he watched with the utmost heed.
8 Gritó como un león: “Señor, de día estoy continuamente en la atalaya, y cada noche permanezco en mi puesto.
Then he cried like a lion: “My Lord, I stand continually upon the watch-tower in the daytime, And keep my post all the night;
9 He aquí que viene una tropa de hombres, de a caballo, en parejas”. Él respondió: “Caída, caída está Babilonia; y todas las imágenes grabadas de sus dioses están rotas en el suelo.
And behold, there cometh a troop, Horsemen in pairs.” Again also he lifted up his voice, and said: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon, And all the graven images of her gods are cast broken to the ground.”
10 ¡Tú eres mi trilla y el grano de mi suelo!” Lo que he oído de Yahvé de los Ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, te lo he declarado.
O my threshing, and the corn of my floor! What I have heard from Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, That have I declared to you.
11 La carga de Dumah. Uno me llama desde Seir: “Vigilante, ¿qué hay de la noche? Vigilante, ¿qué hay de la noche?”
The prophecy concerning Dumah. A voice came to me from Seir: “Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?”
12 El vigilante dijo: “Llega la mañana, y también la noche. Si quieres preguntar, pregunta. Vuelve otra vez”.
The watchman saith: “Morning cometh, and also night. If ye will inquire, inquire! Return, come!”
13 El peso de Arabia. Os alojaréis en los matorrales de Arabia, vosotros, caravanas de dedanitas.
The prophecy against the Arabians. In the thickets of Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye caravans of Dedan!
14 Llevaron agua al que tenía sed. Los habitantes de la tierra de Tema salieron al encuentro de los fugitivos con su pan.
The inhabitants of the land of Tema Bring water to the thirsty; They come to meet the fugitive with bread.
15 Porque huyeron de las espadas, de la espada desenvainada, del arco doblado y del calor de la batalla.
For they flee from swords, From the drawn sword, And from the bent bow, And from the fury of war.
16 Porque el Señor me dijo: “Dentro de un año, como lo contaría un obrero obligado por contrato, toda la gloria de Cedar se agotará,
For thus saith the Lord to me: Within one year, according to the years of a hireling, Shall all the glory of Kedar be consumed.
17 y el resto del número de los arqueros, los hombres poderosos de los hijos de Cedar, será escaso; porque el Señor, el Dios de Israel, lo ha dicho.”
The remainder of the mighty bowmen of the sons of Kedar shall be diminished; For Jehovah, the God of Israel, hath said it.
