Isaías 2
1 Esto es lo que vio Isaías, hijo de Amoz, respecto a Judá y Jerusalén.
That which Isaiah, son of Amoz saw in vision, —concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2 Sucederá en los últimos días que el monte de la casa de Yahvé se establecerá en la cima de los montes, y se elevará por encima de las colinas; y todas las naciones acudirán a ella.
But it shall come to pass, in the afterpart of the days, That the mountain of the house of Yahweh Shall be, set up, as the head of the mountains, And be exalted above the hills, —And all the nations, shall stream thereunto;
3 Muchos pueblos irán y dirán, “Ven, subamos al monte de Yahvé, a la casa del Dios de Jacob; y nos enseñará sus caminos, y caminaremos por sus senderos”. Porque la ley saldrá de Sión, y la palabra de Yahvé desde Jerusalén.
And many peoples shall go and say—Come ye, and let us ascend Unto the mountain of Yahweh Unto the house of the God of Jacob, That he may teach us of his ways, And we may walk in his paths, —For, out of Zion, shall go forth a law, And the word of Yahweh out of Jerusalem;
4 Él juzgará entre las naciones, y decidirá sobre muchos pueblos. Convertirán sus espadas en rejas de arado, y sus lanzas en podaderas. La nación no levantará la espada contra la nación, ni aprenderán más la guerra.
And he will judge between the nations, And be umpire to many peoples, —And they will beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning-hooks, Nation—against nation, shall not lift up sword, Neither shall they learn any more to make war,
5 Casa de Jacob, venid y caminemos a la luz de Yahvé.
O house of Jacob! come ye and let us walk in the light of Yahweh.
6 Porque has abandonado a tu pueblo, la casa de Jacob, porque se llenan desde el este, con los que practican la adivinación como los filisteos, y se dan la mano con los hijos de los extranjeros.
Therefore hast thou abandoned thy people the house of Jacob, Because they have become full of the East, And use hidden arts like the Philistines, —And with the children of foreigners, strike hands; —
7 Su tierra está llena de plata y oro, ni hay fin de sus tesoros. Sus tierras también están llenas de caballos, ni hay fin de sus carros.
So that filled is their land with silver and gold, And there is no end to their treasures, —And filled is their land with horses, And there is no end to their chariots;
8 Su tierra también está llena de ídolos. Adoran el trabajo de sus propias manos, lo que sus propios dedos han hecho.
And filled is their land with idols, —To the work of their own hands, do they bow themselves down, To that which they made with their own fingers.
9 El hombre es abatido, y la humanidad se humilla; por lo tanto no los perdones.
So the mean man boweth down And the great man stoopeth low, —Therefore do not thou forgive them!
10 Entra en la roca, y esconderse en el polvo, ante el terror de Yahvé, y de la gloria de su majestad.
Enter into the rock, Or hide thee in the dust, —Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour.
11 Las miradas altivas del hombre serán abatidas, la arrogancia de los hombres será doblegada, y sólo Yahvé será exaltado en ese día.
The lofty looks of mean men, shall be humbled, And, the haughtiness of great men, shall be bowed down, —And Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.
12 Porque habrá un día de Yahvé de los Ejércitos para todos los soberbios y arrogantes, y por todo lo que se levanta, y será traído bajo
For, a day of Yahweh of hosts, [shall be] —Upon every one who is high and lofty, —And upon every one who is lifted up, And he shall be brought low;
13 para todos los cedros del Líbano, que son altos y elevados, por todos los robles de Basán,
And upon all cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, —And upon all the oaks of Bashan;
14 por todas las altas montañas, por todas las colinas que se levantan,
And upon all the lofty mountains, —And upon all the uplifted hills;
15 por cada torre elevada, por cada muro fortificado,
And upon every high tower, —And upon every fortress wall;
16 para todos los barcos de Tarsis, y para todas las imágenes agradables.
And upon all the ships of Tarshish, —And upon all desirable banners.
17 La altivez del hombre se inclinará, y la arrogancia de los hombres será abatida; y sólo Yahvé será exaltado en ese día.
And the haughtiness of mean men, shall be humbled, —And the loftiness of great men, shall be laid low, —And Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.
18 Los ídolos desaparecerán por completo.
And, the idols, shall wholly pass away;
19 Los hombres entrarán en las cuevas de las rocas, y en los agujeros de la tierra, ante el terror de Yahvé, y de la gloria de su majestad, cuando se levante para sacudir la tierra poderosamente.
And they shall enter into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of clay, —Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour, When he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
20 En ese día, los hombres se desharán de sus ídolos de plata y sus ídolos de oro, que se han hecho para adorar, a los topos y a los murciélagos,
In that day shall the son of earth cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, —which had been made for him to worship, into the hole of the mice, and to the bats;
21 para entrar en las cavernas de las rocas, y en las hendiduras de las rocas desgarradas, ante el terror de Yahvé, y de la gloria de su majestad, cuando se levante para sacudir la tierra poderosamente.
That he may enter into the clefts of the rocks, and into the fissures of the crags, —Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour, When he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
22 Deja de confiar en el hombre, cuyo aliento está en sus narices; pues ¿de qué sirve?
Cease ye from the son of earth, In whose nostrils is but a breath, —For wherein to be reckoned upon, is he?
