Isaías 16
1 Envía los corderos para el gobernante de la tierra de Selah al desierto, al monte de la hija de Sion.
Send the tribute lambs to the ruler of the land, from Sela in the desert to the mount of Daughter Zion.
2 Porque será que como aves errantes, como nido disperso, así serán las hijas de Moab en los vados del Arnón.
Like fluttering birds pushed out of the nest, so are the daughters of Moab at the fords of the Arnon:
3 ¡Consejen! ¡Ejecuta la justicia! ¡Haz tu sombra como la noche en medio del mediodía! ¡Esconde a los desterrados! ¡No traiciones al fugitivo!
“Give us counsel; render a decision. Shelter us at noonday with shade as dark as night. Hide the refugees; do not betray the one who flees.
4 ¡Deja que mis desterrados habiten contigo! En cuanto a Moab, sé un escondite para él de la cara del destructor. Porque el extorsionador es llevado a la nada. La destrucción cesa. Los opresores son consumidos fuera de la tierra.
Let my fugitives stay with you; be a refuge for Moab from the destroyer.” When the oppressor has gone, destruction has ceased, and the oppressors have vanished from the land,
5 Un trono será establecido en la bondad amorosa. Uno se sentará en él en la verdad, en la tienda de David, juzgando, buscando la justicia, y rápido para hacer la justicia.
in loving devotion a throne will be established in the tent of David. A judge seeking justice and hastening righteousness will sit on it in faithfulness.
6 Hemos oído hablar de la soberbia de Moab, que es muy orgulloso; incluso de su arrogancia, su orgullo y su ira. Sus jactancias no son nada.
We have heard of Moab’s pomposity, his exceeding pride and conceit, his overflowing arrogance. But his boasting is empty.
7 Por eso Moab se lamentará por Moab. Todos se lamentarán. Se lamentarán por las tortas de pasas de Kir Hareseth, totalmente golpeadas.
Therefore let Moab wail; let them wail together for Moab. Moan for the raisin cakes of Kir-hareseth, you who are utterly stricken.
8 Porque los campos de Hesbón languidecen con la vid de Sibma. Los señores de las naciones han derribado sus ramas selectas, que llegaban hasta Jazer, que se desviaban hacia el desierto. Sus sarmientos se extendieron por doquier. Pasaron por encima del mar.
For the fields of Heshbon have withered, along with the grapevines of Sibmah. The rulers of the nations have trampled its choicest vines, which had reached as far as Jazer and spread toward the desert. Their shoots had spread out and passed over the sea.
9 Por eso lloraré con el llanto de Jazer por la vid de Sibma. Te regaré con mis lágrimas, Hesbón y Elealeh; porque sobre tus frutos de verano y sobre tu cosecha ha caído el grito de guerra.
So I weep with Jazer for the vines of Sibmah; I drench Heshbon and Elealeh with my tears. Triumphant shouts have fallen silent over your summer fruit and your harvest.
10 Se ha quitado la alegría y el júbilo del campo fructífero; y en las viñas no habrá canto, ni ruido alegre. Nadie pisará el vino en los lagares. He hecho cesar los gritos.
Joy and gladness are removed from the orchard; no one sings or shouts in the vineyards. No one tramples the grapes in the winepresses; I have put an end to the cheering.
11 Por eso mi corazón suena como un arpa por Moab, y mis entrañas por Kir Heres.
Therefore my heart laments for Moab like a harp, my inmost being for Kir-heres.
12 Sucederá que cuando Moab se presente, cuando se canse en el lugar alto y venga a su santuario a orar, no prevalecerá.
When Moab appears on the high place, when he wearies himself and enters his sanctuary to pray, it will do him no good.
13 Esta es la palabra que Yahvé habló sobre Moab en el pasado.
This is the message that the LORD spoke earlier concerning Moab.
14 Pero ahora Yahvé ha hablado, diciendo: “Dentro de tres años, como los contaría un obrero obligado por contrato, la gloria de Moab será despreciada, con toda su gran multitud; y el remanente será muy pequeño y débil.”
And now the LORD says, “In three years, as a hired worker counts the years, Moab’s splendor will become an object of contempt, with all her many people. And those who are left will be few and feeble.”
