Isaías 13
1 La carga de Babilonia que vio Isaías, hijo de Amoz.
The burden of Babylon that Isaiah son of Amoz hath seen:
2 ¡Establece una bandera en la montaña desnuda! ¡Alza tu voz hacia ellos! Agita tu mano, para que entren en las puertas de los nobles.
'On a high mountain lift ye up an ensign, Raise the voice to them, wave the hand, And they go in to the openings of nobles.
3 He ordenado a mis consagrados; sí, he llamado a mis valientes para mi ira, a mis orgullosos exaltados.
I have given charge to My sanctified ones, Also I have called My mighty ones for Mine anger, Those rejoicing at Mine excellency.'
4 ¡El ruido de una multitud está en los montes, como de un gran pueblo; el ruido de un alboroto de los reinos de las naciones reunidos! El Señor de los Ejércitos está reuniendo el ejército para la batalla.
A voice of a multitude in the mountains, A likeness of a numerous people, A voice of noise from the kingdoms of nations who are gathered, Jehovah of Hosts inspecting a host of battle!
5 Vienen de un país lejano, del extremo del cielo, Yahvé, y las armas de su indignación, para destruir toda la tierra.
They are coming in from a land afar off, From the end of the heavens, Jehovah and the instruments of His indignation, To destroy all the land.
6 ¡Lloren, porque se acerca el día de Yahvé! Vendrá como una destrucción del Todopoderoso.
Howl ye, for near [is] the day of Jehovah, As destruction from the Mighty it cometh.
7 Por eso todas las manos se debilitarán, y el corazón de todos se derretirá.
Therefore, all hands do fail, And every heart of man doth melt.
8 Estarán consternados. Se apoderarán de ellos dolores y penas. Tendrán dolores como una mujer de parto. Se mirarán con asombro unos a otros. Sus rostros serán rostros de fuego.
And they have been troubled, Pains and pangs they take, As a travailing woman they are pained, A man at his friend they marvel, The appearance of flames — their faces!
9 He aquí que viene el día de Yahvé, cruel, con cólera y furor; para hacer de la tierra una desolación, y para destruir de ella a sus pecadores.
Lo, the day of Jehovah doth come, Fierce, with wrath, and heat of anger, To make the land become a desolation, Yea, its sinning ones He destroyeth from it.
10 Porque las estrellas del cielo y sus constelaciones no darán su luz. El sol se oscurecerá al salir, y la luna no hará brillar su luz.
For the stars of the heavens, and their constellations, Cause not their light to shine, Darkened hath been the sun in its going out, And the moon causeth not its light to come forth.
11 Castigaré al mundo por su maldad, y a los impíos por su iniquidad. Haré cesar la arrogancia de los soberbios, y humillaré la prepotencia de los terribles.
And I have appointed on the world evil, And on the wicked their iniquity, And have caused to cease the excellency of the proud, And the excellency of the terrible I make low.
12 Haré que las personas sean más raras que el oro fino, que el oro puro de Ofir.
I make man more rare than fine gold, And a common man than pure gold of Ophir.
13 Por eso haré temblar los cielos, y la tierra será sacudida de su lugar en la ira del Señor de los Ejércitos, y en el día de su furia.
Therefore the heavens I cause to tremble, And the earth doth shake from its place, In the wrath of Jehovah of Hosts, And in a day of the heat of his anger.
14 Sucederá que, como gacela cazada y como oveja que nadie recoge, cada uno se volverá a su pueblo y huirá a su tierra.
And it hath been, as a roe driven away, And as a flock that hath no gatherer, Each unto his people — they turn, And each unto his land — they flee.
15 Todo el que sea encontrado será atravesado. Todo el que sea capturado caerá a espada.
Every one who is found is thrust through, And every one who is added falleth by sword.
16 Sus hijos también serán despedazados ante sus ojos. Sus casas serán saqueadas, y sus mujeres violadas.
And their sucklings are dashed to pieces before their eyes, Spoiled are their houses, and their wives lain with.
17 He aquí que yo despierto contra ellos a los medos, que no valorarán la plata, y en cuanto al oro, no se deleitarán en él.
Lo, I am stirring up against them the Medes, Who silver esteem not, And gold — they delight not in it.
18 Sus arcos harán pedazos a los jóvenes, y no tendrán piedad del fruto del vientre. Sus ojos no perdonarán a los niños.
And bows dash young men to pieces, And the fruit of the womb they pity not, On sons their eye hath no pity.
19 Babilonia, la gloria de los reinos, la belleza del orgullo de los caldeos, será como cuando Dios derribó a Sodoma y Gomorra.
And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, The glory, the excellency of the Chaldeans, Hath been as overthrown by God, With Sodom and with Gomorrah.
20 Nunca será habitada, ni se habitará de generación en generación. El árabe no levantará allí una tienda, ni los pastores harán descansar allí sus rebaños.
She doth not sit for ever, Nor continueth unto many generations, Nor doth Arab pitch tent there, And shepherds lie not down there.
21 Pero los animales salvajes del desierto se acostarán allí, y sus casas estarán llenas de chacales. Los avestruces habitarán allí, y las cabras salvajes retozarán.
And Ziim have lain down there, And full have been their houses of howlings, And dwelt there have daughters of an ostrich, And goats do skip there.
22 Las hienas gritarán en sus fortalezas, y los chacales en los palacios agradables. Su tiempo está próximo a llegar, y sus días no se prolongarán.
And Aiim have responded in his forsaken habitations, And dragons in palaces of delight, And near to come [is] her time, And her days are not drawn out!
