Hebreos 10
1 Porque la ley, teniendo una sombra del bien que ha de venir, y no la imagen misma de las cosas, no puede con los mismos sacrificios de año en año, que ofrecen continuamente, hacer perfectos a los que se acercan.
For the law is only a shadow of the good things to come, not the realities themselves. It can never, by the same sacrifices offered year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.
2 De lo contrario, ¿no habrían dejado de ofrecerse, porque los adoradores, una vez purificados, ya no tendrían conciencia de los pecados?
If it could, would not the offerings have ceased? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt the guilt of their sins.
3 Pero en esos sacrificios hay un recuerdo anual de los pecados.
Instead, those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins,
4 Porque es imposible que la sangre de los toros y de los machos cabríos quite los pecados.
because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
5 Por eso, cuando viene al mundo, dice, “No deseabas sacrificios ni ofrendas, pero preparaste un cuerpo para mí.
Therefore, when Christ came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You prepared for Me.
6 No te agradaron los holocaustos completos ni los sacrificios por el pecado.
In burnt offerings and sin offerings You took no delight.
7 Entonces dije: “He aquí que he venido (en el rollo del libro está escrito de mí) para hacer tu voluntad, oh Dios”.
Then I said, ‘Here I am, it is written about Me in the scroll: I have come to do Your will, O God.’”
8 Antes de decir: “Sacrificios y ofrendas y holocaustos completos y sacrificios por el pecado no quisiste, ni te agradaron” (los que se ofrecen según la ley),
In the passage above He says, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not desire, nor did You delight in them” (although they are offered according to the law).
9 entonces ha dicho: “He venido a hacer tu voluntad”. Quita lo primero para establecer lo segundo,
Then He adds, “Here I am, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first to establish the second.
10 por cuya voluntad hemos sido santificados mediante la ofrenda del cuerpo de Jesucristo hecha una vez para siempre.
And by that will, we have been sanctified through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 En efecto, todos los sacerdotes están de pie día tras día, sirviendo y ofreciendo a menudo los mismos sacrificios, que nunca pueden quitar los pecados,
Day after day every priest stands to minister and to offer again and again the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
12 pero él, después de haber ofrecido un solo sacrificio por los pecados para siempre, se sentó a la derecha de Dios,
But when this Priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God.
13 esperando desde entonces hasta que sus enemigos sean puestos como escabel de sus pies.
Since that time, He waits for His enemies to be made a footstool for His feet,
14 Porque con una sola ofrenda ha perfeccionado para siempre a los santificados.
because by a single offering He has made perfect for all time those who are being sanctified.
15 El Espíritu Santo también nos da testimonio, pues después de decir,
The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First He says:
16 “Este es el pacto que haré con ellos después de esos días”, dice el Señor, “Pondré mis leyes en su corazón, También los escribiré en su mente”. entonces dice,
“This is the covenant I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their hearts and inscribe them on their minds.”
17 “No me acordaré más de sus pecados e iniquidades”.
Then He adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”
18 Ahora bien, donde está la remisión de éstos, no hay más ofrenda por el pecado.
And where these have been forgiven, an offering for sin is no longer needed.
19 Teniendo, pues, hermanos, la seguridad de entrar en el lugar santo por la sangre de Jesús,
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,
20 por el camino que él nos dedicó, un camino nuevo y vivo, a través del velo, es decir, de su carne,
by the new and living way opened for us through the curtain of His body,
21 y teniendo un gran sacerdote sobre la casa de Dios,
and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
22 acerquémonos con un corazón verdadero en la plenitud de la fe, teniendo nuestros corazones purificados de una mala conciencia y teniendo nuestro cuerpo lavado con agua pura,
let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 mantengamos firme la confesión de nuestra esperanza sin vacilar, porque el que prometió es fiel.
Let us hold resolutely to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.
24 Consideremos cómo provocarnos unos a otros al amor y a las buenas obras,
And let us consider how to spur one another on to love and good deeds.
25 no dejando de reunirnos, como acostumbran algunos, sino exhortándonos unos a otros, y tanto más cuanto veis que el Día se acerca.
Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
26 Porque si pecamos voluntariamente después de haber recibido el conocimiento de la verdad, ya no queda un sacrificio por los pecados,
If we deliberately go on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins remains,
27 sino una temible expectativa de juicio y una ferocidad de fuego que devorará a los adversarios.
but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume all adversaries.
28 El hombre que hace caso omiso de la ley de Moisés muere sin compasión por la palabra de dos o tres testigos.
Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29 ¿De qué peor castigo creéis que será juzgado el que ha pisoteado al Hijo de Dios, y ha considerado impía la sangre de la alianza con la que fue santificado, y ha insultado al Espíritu de gracia?
How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
30 Porque conocemos al que dijo: “La venganza me pertenece. Yo pagaré”, dice el Señor. Otra vez: “El Señor juzgará a su pueblo”.
For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge His people.”
31 Es una cosa temible caer en las manos del Dios vivo.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32 Pero recordad los días anteriores, en los que, después de ser iluminados, soportasteis una gran lucha con sufrimientos:
Remember the early days that you were in the light. In those days, you endured a great conflict in the face of suffering.
33 en parte, estando expuestos tanto a los reproches como a las opresiones, y en parte, haciéndoos partícipes de los que eran tratados así.
Sometimes you were publicly exposed to ridicule and persecution; at other times you were partners with those who were so treated.
34 Pues ambos os compadecisteis de mí en mis cadenas y aceptasteis con alegría el despojo de vuestros bienes, sabiendo que tenéis para vosotros una posesión mejor y duradera en los cielos.
You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, knowing that you yourselves had a better and permanent possession.
35 Por lo tanto, no desperdiciéis vuestra audacia, que tiene una gran recompensa.
So do not throw away your confidence; it holds a great reward.
36 Porque necesitáis la resistencia para que, habiendo hecho la voluntad de Dios, recibáis la promesa.
You need to persevere, so that after you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.
37 “Dentro de muy poco, el que venga, vendrá y no esperará.
For, “In just a little while, He who is coming will come and will not delay.
38 Pero el justo vivirá por la fe. Si se encoge, mi alma no se complace en él”.
But My righteous one will live by faith; and if he shrinks back, I will take no pleasure in him.”
39 Pero no somos de los que retroceden a la destrucción, sino de los que tienen fe para la salvación del alma.
But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
