Esdras 8

1 Estos son los jefes de familia de sus padres, y esta es la genealogía de los que subieron conmigo desde Babilonia, en el reinado del rey Artajerjes:

Now these are the chiefs of their divisions, and this is the genealogy of those that went up with me, in the reign of king Artaxerxes, from Babylon.

2 De los hijos de Finehas, Gershom. De los hijos de Ithamar, Daniel. De los hijos de David, Hattush.

Of these sons of Phinehas, Gershom; of the sons of Ithamar, Daniel; of the sons of David, Chattush;

3 De los hijos de Secanías, de los hijos de Paros, Zacarías; y con él se enumeraron por genealogía de los varones ciento cincuenta.

Of the sons of Shechanyah, [who was] of the sons of Par'osh, Zechariah; and with him were recorded by genealogy of males one hundred and fifty.

4 De los hijos de Pahatmoab, Eliehoenai, hijo de Zerahiah, y con él doscientos varones.

Of the sons of Pachath-moab, Elyeho'enai the son of Zerachyah, and with him were two hundred males.

5 De los hijos de Secanías, hijo de Jahaziel, y con él trescientos varones.

Of the sons of Shechanyah, the son of Yachaziel, and with him were three hundred males.

6 De los hijos de Adín, Ebed, hijo de Jonatán, y con él cincuenta varones.

And of the sons of 'Adin, 'Ebed the son of Jonathan, and with him were fifty males.

7 De los hijos de Elam, Jesaías, hijo de Atalía, y con él setenta varones.

And of the sons of 'Elam, Jesha'yah the son of 'Athalyah, and with him were seventy males.

8 De los hijos de Sefatías, Zebadías, hijo de Miguel, y con él ochenta varones.

And of the sons of Shephatyath, Zebadyah the son of Michael, and with him were eighty males.

9 De los hijos de Joab, Obadías hijo de Jehiel, y con él doscientos dieciocho varones.

Of the sons of Joab, 'Obadiah the son of Jechiel, and with him were two hundred and eighteen males.

10 De los hijos de Selomit, hijo de Josifa, y con él ciento sesenta varones.

And of the sons of Shelomith, the son of Jossiphyah, and with him were one hundred and sixty males.

11 De los hijos de Bebai, Zacarías, hijo de Bebai, y con él veintiocho varones.

And of the sons of Bebai, Zechariah the son of Bebai, and with him were twenty and eight males.

12 De los hijos de Azgad, Johanan hijo de Hakkatan, y con él ciento diez varones.

And the sons of 'Azgad, Jochanan the son of Hakkatan, and with him were one hundred and ten males.

13 De los hijos de Adonikam, que fueron los últimos, sus nombres son: Eliphelet, Jeuel y Semaías; y con ellos sesenta varones.

And of the sons of Adonikam the last; and those are their names, Eliphelet, Je'iel, and Shema'yah, and with them were sixty males.

14 De los hijos de Bigvai, Uthai y Zabbud, y con ellos setenta varones.

And of the sons of Bigvai, 'Uthai, and Zabbur, and with them were seventy males.

15 Los reuní hasta el río que corre hacia Ahava, y allí acampamos tres días. Entonces miré alrededor del pueblo y de los sacerdotes, y encontré que no había ninguno de los hijos de Leví.

And I gathered them together to the river that runneth into the Ahava, and we encamped there three days: and I looked about among the people, and the priests, but of the sons of Levi I found none there.

16 Entonces mandé llamar a Eliezer, a Ariel, a Semaías, a Elnatán, a Jarib, a Elnatán, a Natán, a Zacarías y a Mesulam, hombres principales; también a Joiarib y a Elnatán, que eran maestros.

Then sent I for Eli'ezer, for Ariel, for Shema'yah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, the head men; also for Joyarib, and for Elnathan, men of understanding.

17 Los envié a Iddo, el jefe, al lugar de Casifia, y les dije lo que debían decir a Iddo y a sus hermanos, los servidores del templo en el lugar de Casifia, para que nos trajeran ministros para la casa de nuestro Dios.

And I sent them with a charge unto Iddo the chief at the place Cassiphia, and I laid the words in their mouth to speak unto Iddo, and to his brother, who were appointed at the place Cassiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.

18 Conforme a la buena mano de nuestro Dios sobre nosotros, nos trajeron un hombre discreto, de los hijos de Mahli, hijo de Leví, hijo de Israel, a saber, Serebías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, dieciocho;

And they brought unto us according to the good hand of our God upon us a man of intelligence, of the sons of Machli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel, namely, Sherebyah, with his sons and his brothers, eighteen;

19 y Hasabías, y con él Jesaías, de los hijos de Merari, sus hermanos y sus hijos, veinte;

And Chashabyah, and with him Jesha'yah of the sons of Merari, his brothers and their sons, twenty.

20 y de los servidores del templo, que David y los príncipes habían dado para el servicio de los levitas, doscientos veinte servidores del templo. Todos ellos fueron mencionados por su nombre.

Also of the temple-servants, whom David and the princes had assigned for the service of the Levites two hundred and twenty temple-servants, all of whom were expressed by names.

21 Entonces proclamé un ayuno allí, en el río Ahava, para humillarnos ante nuestro Dios y buscar de él un camino recto para nosotros, para nuestros pequeños y para todas nuestras posesiones.

Then did I proclaim a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to request from him a prosperous journey for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.

22 Porque me daba vergüenza pedir al rey una banda de soldados y jinetes que nos ayudara contra el enemigo en el camino, porque habíamos hablado con el rey diciendo: “La mano de nuestro Dios está sobre todos los que lo buscan, para bien; pero su poder y su ira están contra todos los que lo abandonan.”

For I was ashamed to ask of the king an army and horsemen to assist us against an enemy on the way; because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all those that seek him for good; but his power and his wrath are against all those that forsake him.

23 Así que ayunamos y rogamos a nuestro Dios por esto, y él nos concedió nuestra petición.

So we fasted and besought our God for this, and he suffered himself to be entreated by us.

24 Entonces aparté a doce de los jefes de los sacerdotes, a Serebías, a Hasabías y a diez de sus hermanos con ellos,

Then set I apart of the chiefs of the priests twelve persons, Sherebyah, Chashabyah, and with them ten of their brethren.

25 y les pesé la plata, el oro y los utensilios, la ofrenda para la casa de nuestro Dios, que habían ofrecido el rey, sus consejeros, sus príncipes y todo Israel allí presente.

And I weighed out unto them the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, the offering for the house of our God, which the king, and his counsellors, and his princes, and all Israel there present, had offered.

26 Pesé en su mano seiscientos cincuenta talentos de plata, cien talentos de recipientes de plata, cien talentos de oro,

And I weighed out into their hand of silver six hundred and fifty talents, and of silver vessels one hundred talents, of gold one hundred talents;

27 veinte copas de oro que pesaban mil dracmas, y dos recipientes de bronce fino y brillante, preciosos como el oro.

Also twenty cups of gold, of a thousand drachms; and two vessels of fine polished copper, valuable as gold.

28 Les dije: “Vosotros sois santos para Yahvé, y los vasos son santos. La plata y el oro son una ofrenda voluntaria a Yahvé, el Dios de vuestros padres.

And I said unto them, Ye are holy unto the Lord; and the vessels are holy; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering unto the Lord the God of your fathers.

29 Velen y guárdenlos hasta que los pesen ante los jefes de los sacerdotes, los levitas y los príncipes de las casas paternas de Israel en Jerusalén, en las salas de la casa de Yahvé.”

Watch ye, and guard them, until ye weigh them out before the chiefs of the priests and the Levites, and the chiefs of the divisions of Israel, at Jerusalem, into the chambers of the house of the Lord.

30 Los sacerdotes y los levitas recibieron el peso de la plata, el oro y los utensilios, para llevarlos a Jerusalén, a la casa de nuestro Dios.

And the priests and the Levites accepted what was weighed out of the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, to bring the same to Jerusalem to the house of our God.

31 Entonces partimos del río Ahava el duodécimo día del primer mes, para ir a Jerusalén. La mano de nuestro Dios estaba sobre nosotros, y nos libró de la mano del enemigo y de los bandidos en el camino.

And we departed from the river Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was over us, and he delivered us from the hand of any enemy, and of such as lie in wait on the way.

32 Llegamos a Jerusalén y nos quedamos allí tres días.

And we came to Jerusalem, and remained there three days.

33 Al cuarto día se pesó la plata, el oro y los utensilios en la casa de nuestro Dios, en manos de Meremot, hijo del sacerdote Urías; con él estaba Eleazar, hijo de Finees, y con ellos estaban Jozabad, hijo de Jesúa, y Noadías, hijo de Binúi, los levitas.

And on the fourth day were the silver and the gold and the vessels weighed out in the house of our God into the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriyah the priest; and with him was El'azar the son of Phinehas; and with them was Jozabad the son of Jeshua', and No'adyah the son of Binnui, the Levites;

34 Todo fue contado y pesado, y todo el peso fue escrito en ese momento.

By number and by weight of everything: and all the weight was written down at the same time.

35 Los hijos del cautiverio, que habían salido del exilio, ofrecieron holocaustos al Dios de Israel: doce toros por todo Israel, noventa y seis carneros, setenta y siete corderos y doce machos cabríos como ofrenda por el pecado. Todo esto fue un holocausto para Yahvé.

Those that came out of the captivity, the children of the exile, offered burnt-offerings unto the God of Israel, twelve bullocks for all Israel, ninety and six rams, seventy and seven sheep, twelve he-goats for a sin-offering: all as burnt-offerings unto the Lord.

36 Entregaron los encargos del rey a los gobernadores locales del rey y a los gobernadores del otro lado del río. Así mantenían al pueblo y a la casa de Dios.

And they delivered the king's commands unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors on this side of the river; and these endowed the people, and the house of God.
