Ezequiel 36

1 Tú, hijo de hombre, profetiza a los montes de Israel y di: “Montes de Israel, escuchad la palabra de Yahvé.

And thou, son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Mountains of Israel, hear the word of Jehovah.

2 El Señor Yahvé dice: “Porque el enemigo ha dicho contra ustedes: “¡Ah!” y “¡Los antiguos lugares altos son nuestros en posesión!

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha! and, The ancient high places are become ours in possession;

3 profetiza, pues, y di: “Dice el Señor Yahvé: “Porque te han desolado y te han tragado por todas partes, para que seas una posesión para el resto de las naciones, y te han tomado en los labios de los habladores y en la mala fama de los pueblos”;

therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because, yea, because they have made [you] desolate, and have swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the remnant of the nations, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and in the defaming of the people:

4 por lo tanto, ustedes, montes de Israel, escuchen la palabra del Señor Yahvé: El Señor Yahvé dice a los montes y a las colinas, a los cursos de agua y a los valles, a los desiertos y a las ciudades abandonadas, que se han convertido en presa y escarnio para el resto de las naciones que están alrededor;

therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to the mountains and to the hills, to the water-courses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and a derision to the remnant of the nations that are round about,

5 por eso dice el Señor Yahvé: “Ciertamente, en el fuego de mis celos he hablado contra el resto de las naciones y contra todo Edom, que se han adjudicado mi tierra en posesión con la alegría de todo su corazón, con despecho del alma, para arrojarla como presa.”’

— therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the remnant of the nations, and against the whole of Edom, which have appointed my land unto themselves for a possession with the joy of all [their] heart, with despite of soul, to plunder it by pillage.

6 Por tanto, profetiza sobre la tierra de Israel, y di a los montes, a las colinas, a los cursos de agua y a los valles: “El Señor Yahvé dice: “He aquí que he hablado en mi celo y en mi ira, porque has soportado la vergüenza de las naciones.”

Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the water-courses and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the ignominy of the nations;

7 Por eso dice el Señor Yahvé: “He jurado que las naciones que te rodean soportarán su vergüenza”.

therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I have lifted up my hand, [saying, ] Verily the nations that are about you, they shall bear their shame.

8 “‘“Pero vosotros, montes de Israel, echad vuestras ramas y dad vuestro fruto a mi pueblo Israel; porque estáis a punto de llegar.

And ye mountains of Israel shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people Israel: for they are at hand to come.

9 Porque he aquí que yo soy para vosotros, y vendré a vosotros, y seréis labrados y sembrados.

For behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown.

10 Multiplicaré los hombres sobre vosotros, toda la casa de Israel, toda ella. Las ciudades serán habitadas y los lugares baldíos serán edificados.

And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, the whole of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded.

11 Multiplicaré en ustedes los hombres y los animales. Crecerán y serán fructíferos. Haré que seas habitada como antes, y te irá mejor que en tus comienzos. Entonces sabrás que yo soy Yahvé.

And I will multiply upon you man and beast, and they shall increase and bring forth fruit; and I will cause you to be inhabited as [in] your former times, yea, I will make it better than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

12 Sí, haré que los hombres caminen sobre ti, mi pueblo Israel. Ellos te poseerán, y tú serás su herencia, y nunca más los dejarás sin hijos.”

And I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of children.

13 “‘El Señor Yahvé dice: “Porque te dicen: ‘Eres un devorador de hombres, y has sido un despojador de tu nación’;

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because they say unto you, Thou devourest men, and hast bereaved thy nation,

14 por lo tanto, no devorarás más a los hombres, ni despojarás más a tu nación”, dice el Señor Yahvé.

therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nation any more, saith the Lord Jehovah;

15 “No te dejaré oír más la vergüenza de las naciones. No soportarás más el oprobio de los pueblos, y no harás tropezar más a tu nación”, dice el Señor Yahvé”.

neither will I cause thee to hear the ignominy of the nations any more, and thou shalt not bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nation to fall any more, saith the Lord Jehovah.

16 Y vino a mí la palabra de Yahvé, diciendo:

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

17 “Hijo de hombre, cuando la casa de Israel vivía en su propia tierra, la profanó con sus caminos y con sus obras. Su camino ante mí era como la inmundicia de una mujer en su impureza.

Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a woman in her separation.

18 Por eso derramé mi ira sobre ellos por la sangre que habían derramado sobre la tierra y porque la habían contaminado con sus ídolos.

And I poured out my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols.

19 Los esparcí entre las naciones, y fueron dispersados por los países. Los juzgué según su camino y según sus obras.

And I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

20 Cuando llegaron a las naciones a las que fueron, profanaron mi santo nombre, pues los hombres dijeron de ellos: “Estos son el pueblo de Yahvé y han abandonado su tierra.

And when they came to the nations whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when it was said of them, These are the people of Jehovah, and they are gone forth out of his land.

21 Pero yo respeté mi santo nombre, que la casa de Israel había profanado entre las naciones adonde fueron.

But I had pity for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations whither they went.

22 “Por lo tanto, dile a la casa de Israel: El Señor Yahvé dice: “No hago esto por ustedes, casa de Israel, sino por mi santo nombre, que ustedes han profanado entre las naciones a las que fueron.

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for my holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations whither ye went.

23 Yo santificaré mi gran nombre, que ha sido profanado entre las naciones, que ustedes han profanado entre ellas. Entonces las naciones sabrán que yo soy Yahvé — dice el Señor Yahvé — cuando se demuestre que soy santo en ustedes ante sus ojos.

And I will hallow my great name, which was profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I [am] Jehovah, saith the Lord Jehovah, when I shall be hallowed in you before their eyes.

24 “‘“Porque te tomaré de entre las naciones y te reuniré de todos los países, y te llevaré a tu propia tierra.

And I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25 Rociaré sobre vosotros agua limpia, y quedaréis limpios. Te limpiaré de toda tu suciedad y de todos tus ídolos.

And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your uncleannesses and from all your idols will I cleanse you.

26 También les daré un corazón nuevo, y pondré un espíritu nuevo dentro de ustedes. Quitaré el corazón de piedra de vuestra carne, y os daré un corazón de carne.

And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

27 Pondré mi Espíritu dentro de ustedes, y haré que caminen en mis estatutos. Guardarás mis ordenanzas y las pondrás en práctica.

And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and keep mine ordinances, and ye shall do them.

28 Habitaréis la tierra que di a vuestros padres. Seréis mi pueblo, y yo seré vuestro Dios.

And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

29 Os salvaré de toda vuestra impureza. Llamaré al grano y lo multiplicaré, y no os haré pasar hambre.

And I will save you from all your uncleannesses; and I will call for the corn and will multiply it, and lay no famine upon you.

30 Multiplicaré el fruto del árbol y la cosecha del campo, para que no recibas más el reproche del hambre entre las naciones.

And I will multiply the fruit of the trees and the increase of the field, so that ye may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.

31 “‘“Entonces os acordaréis de vuestros malos caminos y de vuestras obras que no fueron buenas, y os aborreceréis ante vuestros propios ojos por vuestras iniquidades y por vuestras abominaciones.

And ye shall remember your evil ways, and your doings which were not good, and shall loathe yourselves for your iniquities and for your abominations.

32 No hago esto por ustedes, dice el Señor Yahvé. “Que se sepa de ustedes. Avergüéncense y confúndanse por sus caminos, casa de Israel”.

Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord Jehovah, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

33 “‘El Señor Yahvé dice: “El día en que te limpie de todas tus iniquidades, haré que se habiten las ciudades y que se construyan los lugares desolados.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day that I shall cleanse you from all your iniquities I will also cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded.

34 La tierra que estaba desolada será labrada en lugar de ser una desolación a la vista de todos los que pasen por ella.

And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by.

35 Dirán: “Esta tierra que estaba desolada se ha convertido en el jardín del Edén. Las ciudades desiertas, desoladas y arruinadas están fortificadas y habitadas’.

And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities [are] fortified [and] inhabited.

36 Entonces las naciones que queden a tu alrededor sabrán que yo, Yahvé, he construido los lugares en ruinas y he plantado lo que estaba desolado. Yo, Yahvé, lo he dicho y lo haré”.

And the nations that shall be left round about you shall know that I Jehovah build the ruined places [and] plant that which was desolate: I Jehovah have spoken, and I will do [it].

37 “‘El Señor Yahvé dice: “Por esto, además, seré consultado por la casa de Israel, para hacerlo por ellos: Los multiplicaré en hombres como un rebaño.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it unto them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

38 Como el rebaño para el sacrificio, como el rebaño de Jerusalén en sus fiestas señaladas, así las ciudades desiertas se llenarán de rebaños de hombres. Entonces sabrán que yo soy Yahvé”.

As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her set feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
