Ezequiel 26

1 En el año undécimo, en el primero del mes, vino a mí la palabra de Yahvé, diciendo:

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:

2 “Hijo de hombre, porque Tiro ha dicho contra Jerusalén: “¡Ah, está rota! La que era la puerta de los pueblos ha sido devuelta a mí. Ahora que ha sido destruida, me repondré’;

'Son of man, because that Tyre hath said against Jerusalem: Aha, she is broken that was the gate of the peoples; she is turned unto me; I shall be filled with her that is laid waste;

3 por lo tanto, el Señor Yahvé dice: ‘He aquí que yo estoy contra ti, Tiro, y haré que suban contra ti muchas naciones, como el mar hace subir sus olas.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against thee, O Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth its waves to come up.

4 Destruirán los muros de Tiro y derribarán sus torres. También rasparé su polvo y la convertiré en una roca desnuda.

And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and break down her towers; I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her a bare rock.

5 Será un lugar para tender las redes en medio del mar; porque yo lo he dicho — dice el Señor Yahvé. Se convertirá en un botín para las naciones.

She shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD; and she shall become a spoil to the nations.

6 Sus hijas que están en el campo serán asesinadas a espada. Entonces sabrán que yo soy Yahvé’.

And her daughters that are in the field shall be slain with the sword; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

7 “Porque el Señor Yahvé dice: ‘He aquí que yo traigo sobre Tiro a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, rey de reyes, desde el norte, con caballos, con carros, con jinetes, y un ejército con mucha gente.

For thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I will bring upon Tyre Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and a company, and much people.

8 Matará a tus hijas en el campo con la espada. Hará contra ti fortalezas, levantará contra ti un túmulo y alzará contra ti el escudo.

He shall slay with the sword thy daughters in the field; and he shall make forts against thee, and cast up a mound against thee, and set up bucklers against thee.

9 Pondrá sus arietes contra tus muros, y con sus hachas derribará tus torres.

And he shall set his battering engines against thy walls, and with his axes he shall break down thy towers.

10 Por la abundancia de sus caballos, su polvo te cubrirá. Tus muros temblarán por el ruido de la caballería, de los carros y de las carrozas, cuando él entre por tus puertas, como se entra en una ciudad abierta.

By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover thee; at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wheels, and of the chariots, thy walls shall shake, when he shall enter into thy gates, as men enter into a city wherein is made a breach.

11 Con los cascos de sus caballos pisoteará todas tus calles. Matará a tu pueblo con la espada. Las columnas de tu fortaleza caerán a tierra.

With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets; he shall slay thy people with the sword, and the pillars of thy strength shall go down to the ground.

12 Saquearán tus riquezas y harán presa de tus mercancías. Derribarán tus murallas y destruirán tus casas agradables. Pondrán tus piedras, tu madera y tu polvo en medio de las aguas.

And they shall make a spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy merchandise; and they shall break down thy walls, and destroy the houses of thy delight; and thy stones and thy timber and thy dust shall they lay in the midst of the waters.

13 Haré que cese el ruido de tus cantos. Ya no se oirá el sonido de tus arpas.

And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease, and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard.

14 Te convertiré en una roca desnuda. Serás un lugar para extender las redes. Ya no serás edificada; porque yo, Yahvé, lo he dicho’, dice el Señor Yahvé.

And I will make thee a bare rock; thou shalt be a place for the spreading of nets, thou shalt be built no more; for I the LORD have spoken, saith the Lord GOD.

15 “El Señor Yahvé dice a Tiro: ‘¿No se estremecerán las islas al ruido de tu caída, cuando giman los heridos, cuando se haga la matanza dentro de ti?

Thus saith the Lord GOD to Tyre: Shall not the isles shake at the sound of thy fall, when the wounded groan, when the slaughter is made in the midst of thee?

16 Entonces todos los príncipes del mar bajarán de sus tronos, se despojarán de sus túnicas y se despojarán de sus ropas bordadas. Se vestirán de temblor. Se sentarán en el suelo, y temblarán a cada momento, y se asombrarán de ti.

Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay away their robes, and strip off their richly woven garments; they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble every moment, and be appalled at thee.

17 Se lamentarán por ti y te dirán, “Cómo te destruyen, que estaban habitadas por hombres de mar, la renombrada ciudad, que era fuerte en el mar, ella y sus habitantes, que causó su terror a todos los que vivían allí”.

And they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and say to thee: how art thou destroyed, that wast peopled from the seas, the renowned city, that wast strong in the sea, thou and thy inhabitants, that caused your terror to be on all that inhabit the earth!

18 Ahora las islas temblarán en el día de tu caída. Sí, las islas que están en el mar estarán consternadas por tu partida’.

Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be affrighted at thy going out.

19 “Porque el Señor Yahvé dice: ‘Cuando te convierta en una ciudad desolada, como las ciudades que no están habitadas, cuando haga subir el abismo sobre ti y te cubran las grandes aguas,

For thus saith the Lord GOD: When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and the great waters shall cover thee;

20 entonces te haré descender con los que descienden a la fosa, al pueblo de antaño, y te haré habitar en las partes bajas de la tierra, en los lugares desolados de antaño, con los que descienden a la fosa, para que no seas habitada; y pondré la gloria en la tierra de los vivos.

then will I bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, to the people of old time, and will make thee to dwell in the nether parts of the earth, like the places that are desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I will set glory in the land of the living;

21 Te convertiré en un terror, y ya no tendrás ningún ser. Aunque se te busque, nunca más se te encontrará’, dice el Señor Yahvé”.

I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more; though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord GOD.'
