Ezequiel 1
1 En el año trigésimo, en el cuarto mes, en el quinto día del mes, estando yo entre los cautivos junto al río Chebar, se abrieron los cielos y vi visiones de Dios.
And it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was in the midst of the exiles by the river Kebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw divine visions.
2 En el quinto del mes, que era el quinto año de la cautividad del rey Joaquín,
On the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of the exile of king Jehoyachin,
3 La palabra de Yahvé llegó al sacerdote Ezequiel, hijo de Buzi, en la tierra de los caldeos, junto al río Chebar; y la mano de Yahvé estaba allí sobre él.
Came the word of the Lord expressly unto Ezekiel the son of Buzi, the priest, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Kebar; and there came upon him there the inspiration of the Lord.
4 Miré, y he aquí, un viento tempestuoso que salía del norte: una gran nube, con relámpagos centelleantes, y un resplandor a su alrededor, y de en medio de ella como metal resplandeciente, de en medio del fuego.
And I saw, and behold, a storm-wind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a flaming fire, and a brightness was on it round about; and out of the midst of it was like the glitter of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
5 De su centro salió la semejanza de cuatro seres vivientes. Esta era su apariencia: Tenían la apariencia de un hombre.
And out of the midst thereof [I saw] the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: They had the likeness of a man.
6 Todos tenían cuatro rostros, y cada uno de ellos tenía cuatro alas.
And every one had four faces, and every one of them had four wings.
7 Sus pies eran rectos. La planta de sus pies era como la planta de un pie de ternero; y brillaban como el bronce bruñido.
And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the glitter of burnished copper.
8 Tenían las manos de un hombre debajo de sus alas en sus cuatro lados. Los cuatro tenían sus rostros y sus alas así:
And hands of man [were visible] from beneath their wings on their four sides: and their faces and their wings [were alike] on all these four.
9 Sus alas estaban unidas entre sí. No giraban cuando iban. Cada una iba hacia adelante.
Their wings were joined one to the other: they turned not about in their going; they went every one in the direction of one of their faces.
10 En cuanto a la semejanza de sus rostros, tenían cara de hombre. Los cuatro tenían el rostro de un león en el lado derecho. Los cuatro tenían el rostro de un buey en el lado izquierdo. Los cuatro tenían también la cara de un águila.
And the likeness of their faces was the face of a man; and the face of a lion, on the right side for all four of them; and the face of an ox on the left side for all four of them; and the face of an eagle for all four of them.
11 Tales eran sus rostros. Sus alas estaban extendidas hacia arriba. Dos alas de cada uno tocaban a otro, y dos cubrían sus cuerpos.
Thus were their faces: and their wings were spread out upward; every one had two joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
12 Cada uno de ellos iba derecho hacia adelante. Donde el espíritu debía ir, ellos iban. No se volvían cuando iban.
And they went every one in the direction of one of his faces: whither the spirit was directed to go, they went; they turned not about in their going.
13 En cuanto a la semejanza de los seres vivientes, su apariencia era como carbones ardientes de fuego, como la apariencia de antorchas. El fuego subía y bajaba entre los seres vivos. El fuego era brillante, y del fuego salían relámpagos.
As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like coals of fire, burning as with the appearance of torches; this [fire] it was which passed along between the living creatures: and a brightness was about the fire, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
14 Los seres vivientes corrían y regresaban como la apariencia de un relámpago.
And the living creatures ran backward and forward like the appearance of a flash of lightning.
15 Cuando vi los seres vivos, he aquí que había una rueda en la tierra junto a los seres vivos, para cada una de sus cuatro caras.
And I looked on the living creatures, and, behold, there was one wheel upon the earth close by the living creatures, by their four front faces.
16 La apariencia de las ruedas y su trabajo era como un berilo. Las cuatro tenían una sola semejanza. Su aspecto y su obra eran como una rueda dentro de otra rueda.
The appearance of the wheels and their work was like the color of a chrysolite; and all four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as though it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
17 Cuando iban, iban en sus cuatro direcciones. No giraban cuando iban.
Toward their four sides they went in their going: they turned not round in their going.
18 En cuanto a sus aros, eran altos y temibles; y los cuatro tenían sus aros llenos de ojos por todas partes.
As for their circumferences, they were so high that they excited fear: and their felloes were full of eyes round about on all these four.
19 Cuando los seres vivos iban, las ruedas iban a su lado. Cuando los seres vivos se levantaban de la tierra, las ruedas se levantaban.
And when the living creatures went, the wheels went near to them: and when the living creatures lifted themselves up from the earth, the wheels lifted themselves up.
20 Dondequiera que el espíritu debía ir, ellas iban. El espíritu debía ir allí. Las ruedas se levantaban junto a ellos, porque el espíritu del ser viviente estaba en las ruedas.
Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went; [for] thither was [their] spirit to go: and the wheels lifted themselves up at the same time with them; for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
21 Cuando aquellos iban, estos iban. Cuando aquellos se paraban, estos se paraban. Cuando aquellos se levantaban de la tierra, las ruedas se levantaban junto a ellos; porque el espíritu del ser viviente estaba en las ruedas.
When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those lifted themselves up from the earth, the wheels lifted themselves up at the same time with them; for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
22 Sobre la cabeza del ser viviente había la semejanza de una expansión, como un cristal imponente para mirar, extendida sobre sus cabezas por encima.
And the likeness of a vault was over the head of the living creatures, [shining] like the glitter of the purest crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
23 Debajo de la extensión, sus alas eran rectas, una hacia la otra. Cada una tenía dos que cubrían de este lado, y cada una tenía dos que cubrían sus cuerpos de aquel lado.
And under the vault their wings were straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered them, and every one had two, which covered them, —[namely, ] their bodies.
24 Cuando se fueron, oí el ruido de sus alas como el ruido de grandes aguas, como la voz del Todopoderoso, un ruido de tumulto como el ruido de un ejército. Cuando se pararon, bajaron sus alas.
And I heard the sound of their wings, like the sound of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, when they went, the sound of [their] speech, as the noise of an army: when they stood still, they let down their wings.
25 Se oyó una voz por encima de la extensión que había sobre sus cabezas. Cuando se pusieron de pie, bajaron sus alas.
And there was a voice from the vault that was over their head: when they stood still, they let down their wings.
26 Sobre la extensión que estaba sobre sus cabezas había una semejanza de un trono, como la apariencia de una piedra de zafiro. Sobre la semejanza del trono había una semejanza como la de un hombre en lo alto.
And above the vault that was over their head was like the appearance of a sapphire-stone, the likeness of a throne: and upon the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
27 Vi como un metal resplandeciente, como la apariencia de fuego dentro de él todo alrededor, desde la apariencia de su cintura y hacia arriba; y desde la apariencia de su cintura y hacia abajo vi como la apariencia de fuego, y había brillo alrededor de él.
And I saw as if it were the glitter of amber, as the appearance of fire within it round about, from the appearance of his loins upward; and from the appearance of his loins downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
28 Como la apariencia del arco iris que está en la nube en el día de la lluvia, así era la apariencia del brillo alrededor. Esta fue la aparición de la semejanza de la gloria de Yahvé. Cuando la vi, caí de bruces, y oí una voz que hablaba.
Like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about: this was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard the voice of one that spoke.
