Ester 10

1 El rey Asuero impuso un tributo en la tierra y en las islas del mar.

And King Ahasuerus laid tribute upon the land, and upon the shores of the sea.

2 ¿No están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Media y de Persia todos los actos de su poder y de su fuerza, y la relación completa de la grandeza de Mardoqueo, a la que el rey le hizo avanzar?

But, all the acts of his authority, and his might, and the clear story of the promotion of Mordecai, wherewith the king promoted him, are, they, not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?

3 Porque Mardoqueo, el judío, estaba junto al rey Asuero, y era grande entre los judíos y aceptado por la multitud de sus hermanos, buscando el bien de su pueblo y hablando de paz a todos sus descendientes.

For, Mordecai the Jew, was next unto King Ahasuerus, and became great among the Jews, and accepted by the multitude of his brethren, —seeking happiness for his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
