Efesios 2
1 Fuisteis vivificados cuando estabais muertos en transgresiones y pecados,
You were made alive when you were dead in your transgressions and sins,
2 en los cuales anduvisteis en otro tiempo según la corriente de este mundo, conforme al príncipe de la potestad del aire, el espíritu que ahora obra en los hijos de la desobediencia. (aiōn g165)
in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience; (aiōn g165)
3 También todos nosotros vivimos en otro tiempo en los deseos de nuestra carne, haciendo los deseos de la carne y de la mente, y éramos por naturaleza hijos de la ira, como los demás.
among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
4 Pero Dios, rico en misericordia, por su gran amor con que nos amó,
But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,
5 aun cuando estábamos muertos por nuestros delitos, nos dio vida juntamente con Cristo — por gracia habéis sido salvados —
even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 y nos resucitó con él, haciéndonos sentar con él en los lugares celestiales en Cristo Jesús,
and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
7 para mostrar en los siglos venideros las abundantes riquezas de su gracia en su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús; (aiōn g165)
that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; (aiōn g165)
8 porque por gracia habéis sido salvados por medio de la fe, y esto no de vosotros mismos; es don de Dios,
for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9 no por obras, para que nadie se gloríe.
not of works, that no one would boast.
10 Porque somos hechura suya, creados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras, las cuales Dios preparó de antemano para que anduviéramos en ellas.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
11 Recordad, pues, que en otro tiempo vosotros, los gentiles en la carne, que sois llamados “incircuncisión” por lo que se llama “circuncisión” (en la carne, hecha por las manos),
Therefore remember that once you, the non-Jews in the flesh, who are called "uncircumcision" by that which is called "circumcision," (in the flesh, made by hands);
12 que en aquel tiempo estabais separados de Cristo, alejados de la comunidad de Israel y extraños a los pactos de la promesa, sin esperanza y sin Dios en el mundo.
that you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
13 Pero ahora, en Cristo Jesús, vosotros, que en otro tiempo estabais alejados, habéis sido hechos cercanos por la sangre de Cristo.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
14 Porque él es nuestra paz, que de ambos hizo uno, derribando la pared intermedia de separación,
For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition,
15 habiendo abolido en su carne la enemistad, la ley de los mandamientos contenidos en las ordenanzas, para crear en sí mismo un solo hombre nuevo de los dos, haciendo la paz,
having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace;
16 y reconciliar a ambos en un solo cuerpo con Dios por medio de la cruz, matando por ella la enemistad.
and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by which he put to death their enmity.
17 Vino a predicar la paz a los que estaban lejos y a los que estaban cerca.
He came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.
18 Porque por medio de él ambos tenemos acceso al Padre en un solo Espíritu.
For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
19 Así pues, ya no sois extranjeros ni forasteros, sino conciudadanos de los santos y de la familia de Dios,
So then you are no longer foreigners and noncitizens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,
20 edificados sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y profetas, siendo Cristo Jesús mismo la principal piedra del ángulo;
being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone;
21 en el cual todo el edificio, unido entre sí, va creciendo hasta convertirse en un templo santo en el Señor;
in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord;
22 en el cual también vosotros sois edificados juntos para morada de Dios en el Espíritu.
in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
