Deuteronomio 3

1 Entonces nos volvimos y subimos por el camino de Basán. Og, el rey de Basán, salió contra nosotros, él y todo su pueblo, para combatir en Edrei.

Then we turned and went up the way to Bashan. Og, the king of Bashan, came and attacked us, he and all his people, to fight at Edrei.

2 El Señor me dijo: “No le temas, porque lo he entregado, con todo su pueblo y su tierra, en tu mano. Harás con él lo que hiciste con Sehón, rey de los amorreos, que vivía en Hesbón”.

Yahweh said to me, 'Do not fear him; for I have given you victory over him and have put all his people and his land under your control. You will do to him as you did to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.'

3 También el Señor, nuestro Dios, entregó en nuestra mano a Og, rey de Basán, y a todo su pueblo. Los matamos hasta que no le quedó nadie.

So Yahweh our God also gave us victory over Og the king of Bashan, and all his people were put under our control. We struck them down until not one of his people remained.

4 En ese momento tomamos todas sus ciudades. No hubo ciudad que no les tomáramos: sesenta ciudades, toda la región de Argob, el reino de Og en Basán.

We took all his cities at that time. There was not one of the sixty cities that we did not take from them—all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

5 Todas ellas eran ciudades fortificadas con altos muros, puertas y rejas, además de un gran número de aldeas sin muros.

These were all cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; this was besides very many unwalled villages.

6 Las destruimos por completo, como hicimos con Sehón, rey de Hesbón, destruyendo por completo toda ciudad habitada, con las mujeres y los niños.

We completely destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, completely destroying every city—men and the women and the little ones.

7 Pero todo el ganado y el saqueo de las ciudades lo tomamos como botín para nosotros.

But all the cattle and the spoil of the cities, we took as spoils for ourselves.

8 En aquel tiempo tomamos la tierra de la mano de los dos reyes de los amorreos que estaban al otro lado del Jordán, desde el valle de Arnón hasta el monte Hermón.

At that time we took the land out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan, from the Valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon

9 (Los sidonios llaman a Hermón Sirión, y los amorreos lo llaman Senir.)

(Mount Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir)

10 Tomamos todas las ciudades de la llanura, y todo Galaad, y todo Basán, hasta Salca y Edrei, ciudades del reino de Og en Basán.

and all the cities of the plain, all Gilead, and all Bashan, all the way to Salekah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.”

11 (Porque sólo Og, rey de Basán, quedó del resto de los refaítas. He aquí que su somier era un somier de hierro. ¿No está en Rabá de los hijos de Amón? Nueve codos era su longitud, y cuatro codos su anchura, según el codo de un hombre).

(For of the remnant of the Rephaim, only Og king of Bashan had remained. Look! His bed was a bed of iron. Was it not in Rabbah, where the descendants of Ammon live? It was nine cubits long and four cubits wide, the way people measure.)

12 Esta tierra la tomamos en posesión en aquel tiempo: desde Aroer, que está junto al valle de Arnón, y la mitad de la región montañosa de Galaad con sus ciudades, la di a los rubenitas y a los gaditas;

“This land that we took in possession at that time—from Aroer, that is by the Valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead, and its cities—I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites.

13 y el resto de Galaad, y todo Basán, el reino de Og, lo di a la media tribu de Manasés: toda la región de Argob, todo Basán. (Lo mismo se llama la tierra de Refaim.

The rest of Gilead and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half tribe of Manasseh. (All the region of Argob, and all Bashan. The same territory is called the land of Rephaim.

14 Jair, hijo de Manasés, tomó toda la región de Argob, hasta la frontera de los guesuritas y los maacateos, y la llamó, hasta Basán, con su propio nombre, Havot Jair, hasta el día de hoy).

Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, took all the region of Argob to the border of the Geshurites and the Maakathites. He called the region, even Bashan, by his own name, Havvoth Jair, to this day.)

15 A Maquir le di Galaad.

I gave Gilead to Machir.

16 A los rubenitas y a los gaditas les di desde Galaad hasta el valle de Arnón, la mitad del valle, y su frontera, hasta el río Jaboc, que es la frontera de los hijos de Amón;

To the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave territory from Gilead to the Valley of the Arnon—the middle of the valley is the territory's border—and to the Jabbok River, which is the border with the descendants of Ammon.

17 también el Arabá, y el Jordán y su frontera, desde Cineret hasta el mar del Arabá, el Mar Salado, bajo las laderas del Pisga hacia el este.

Another of its borders is also the plain of the Jordan River valley, from Kinnereth to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Salt Sea) to the slopes of Mount Pisgah eastward.

18 En aquel tiempo os mandé decir: “El Señor, vuestro Dios, os ha dado esta tierra para que la poseáis. Todos vosotros, hombres de valor, pasaréis armados delante de vuestros hermanos, los hijos de Israel.

I commanded you at that time, saying, 'Yahweh your God has given you this land to possess it; you, all the men of war, will pass over armed before your brothers, the people of Israel.

19 Pero vuestras mujeres, vuestros pequeños y vuestros ganados (sé que tenéis mucho ganado) vivirán en vuestras ciudades que os he dado,

But your wives, your little ones, and your cattle (I know that you have much cattle), will stay in your cities that I have given you,

20 hasta que el Señor dé descanso a vuestros hermanos, como a vosotros, y ellos también posean la tierra que el Señor vuestro Dios les da al otro lado del Jordán. Entonces volveréis cada uno a su posesión, que yo os he dado”.

until Yahweh gives rest to your brothers, as he has to you, until they also possess the land that Yahweh your God is giving them beyond the Jordan; then will you return, every man of you, to your own property that I have given you.'

21 En ese momento le ordené a Josué que dijera: “Tus ojos han visto todo lo que el Señor, tu Dios, ha hecho con estos dos reyes. Así hará el Señor con todos los reinos a los que pases.

I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, 'Your eyes have seen all that Yahweh your God has done to these two kings; Yahweh will do the same to all the kingdoms where you go over.

22 No los temerás, porque el mismo Yahvé, tu Dios, lucha por ti”.

You will not fear them, for Yahweh your God is the one who will fight for you.'

23 En ese momento le rogué a Yahvé, diciendo:

I implored Yahweh at that time, saying,

24 “Señor Yahvé, has comenzado a mostrarle a tu siervo tu grandeza y tu mano fuerte. Porque ¿qué dios hay en el cielo o en la tierra que pueda hacer obras como las tuyas, y actos poderosos como los tuyos?

'O Lord Yahweh, you have begun to show your servant your greatness and your strong hand; for what god is there in heaven or in earth that can do the same works as you have done, and the same mighty acts?

25 Por favor, déjame ir a ver la buena tierra que está al otro lado del Jordán, esa hermosa montaña y el Líbano”.

Let me go over, I beg you, and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that good hill country, and also Lebanon.'

26 Pero el Señor se enojó conmigo por causa de vosotros y no me escuchó. El Señor me dijo: “¡Ya basta! No me hables más de este asunto.

But Yahweh was angry with me because of you; he did not listen to me. Yahweh said to me, 'Let this be enough for you—speak no more to me about this matter:

27 Sube a la cima del Pisga y levanta tus ojos hacia el oeste, el norte, el sur y el este, y mira con tus ojos, porque no pasarás este Jordán.

go up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes westward, northward, southward, and eastward; look with your eyes, for you will not go over the Jordan.

28 Pero comisiona a Josué, anímalo y fortalécelo, porque él pasará delante de este pueblo y lo hará heredar la tierra que tú verás.”

Instead, instruct Joshua and encourage and strengthen him, for he will go over before this people, and he will cause them to inherit the land that you will see.'

29 Así que nos quedamos en el valle cerca de Bet Peor.

So we stayed in the valley opposite Beth Peor.
