Deuteronomio 22
1 No verás extraviado el buey o la oveja de tu hermano y te esconderás de ellos. Los llevarás de nuevo a tu hermano.
You shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep go astray, and hide yourself from them. You shall surely bring them again to your brother.
2 Si tu hermano no está cerca de ti, o si no lo conoces, lo llevarás a tu casa, y estará contigo hasta que tu hermano venga a buscarlo, y se lo devolverás.
If your brother is not near to you, or if you don’t know him, then you shall bring it home to your house, and it shall be with you until your brother comes looking for it, and you shall restore it to him.
3 Así harás con su asno. Así harás con su ropa. Así harás con toda cosa perdida de tu hermano, que él haya perdido y tú hayas encontrado. No podrás esconderte.
So you shall do with his donkey. So you shall do with his garment. So you shall do with every lost thing of your brother’s which he has lost. If you find something of your brother’s that he has lost, you must not ignore it.
4 No verás el asno de tu hermano ni su buey caídos en el camino, y te esconderás de ellos. Le ayudarás a levantarlos de nuevo.
You shall not see your brother’s donkey or his ox fallen down by the way, and hide yourself from them. You shall surely help him to lift them up again.
5 La mujer no se vestirá con ropa de hombre, ni el hombre se pondrá ropa de mujer; porque quien hace estas cosas es una abominación para Yahvé, tu Dios.
A woman shall not wear men’s clothing, neither shall a man put on women’s clothing; for whoever does these things is detestable to Adonai your God.
6 Si en el camino encuentras un nido de pájaros, en cualquier árbol o en el suelo, con crías o huevos, y la gallina está sentada sobre las crías o sobre los huevos, no te llevarás la gallina con las crías.
If you come across a bird’s nest on the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the hen sitting on the young, or on the eggs, you shall not take the hen with the young.
7 Dejarás ir a la gallina, pero podrás tomar las crías para ti, para que te vaya bien y prolongues tus días.
You shall surely let the hen go, but the young you may take for yourself; that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days.
8 Cuando construyas una casa nueva, harás una barandilla alrededor de tu techo, para que no traigas sangre a tu casa si alguien se cae de allí.
When you build a new house, then you shall make a railing around your roof, so that you don’t bring blood on your house if anyone falls from there.
9 No sembrarás tu viña con dos tipos de semilla, para que no se contamine todo el fruto, la semilla que has sembrado y el producto de la viña.
You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest all the fruit be defiled, the seed which you have sown, and the increase of the vineyard.
10 No ararás con un buey y un asno juntos.
You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.
11 No te pondrás ropa de lana y de lino tejidas juntas.
You shall not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together.
12 Os haréis flecos en las cuatro esquinas del manto con el que os cubrís.
You shall make yourselves fringes on the four corners of your cloak with which you cover yourself.
13 Si un hombre toma a una mujer y se acerca a ella, la odia,
If any man takes a wife, and goes in to her, hates her,
14 la acusa de cosas vergonzosas, le da mala fama y dice: “Tomé a esta mujer, y cuando me acerqué a ella, no encontré en ella las señales de virginidad”;
accuses her of shameful things, and gives her a bad name, and says, “I took this woman, and when I came near to her, I didn’t find in her the tokens of virginity;”
15 entonces el padre y la madre de la joven tomarán y llevarán las señales de virginidad de la joven a los ancianos de la ciudad en la puerta.
then the young lady’s father and mother shall take and bring the tokens of the young lady’s virginity to the elders of the city in the gate.
16 El padre de la joven dirá a los ancianos: “Yo le di mi hija a este hombre como esposa, y él la odia.
The young lady’s father shall tell the elders, “I gave my daughter to this man as his wife, and he hates her.
17 He aquí que él la ha acusado de cosas vergonzosas, diciendo: ‘No he encontrado en tu hija las señales de la virginidad’; y sin embargo, éstas son las señales de la virginidad de mi hija.” Extenderán el paño ante los ancianos de la ciudad.
Behold, he has accused her of shameful things, saying, ‘I didn’t find in your daughter the tokens of virginity;’ and yet these are the tokens of my daughter’s virginity.” They shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.
18 Los ancianos de la ciudad tomarán al hombre y lo castigarán.
The elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him.
19 Le impondrán una multa de cien siclos de plata, y se la darán al padre de la joven, por haber dado mala fama a una virgen de Israel. Ella será su esposa. No podrá repudiarla en todos sus días.
They shall fine him one hundred shekels [2.5 lb; 1.13 kg] of silver, and give them to the father of the young lady, because he has given a bad name to a virgin of Israel [God prevails]. She shall be his wife. He may not divorce her all his days.
20 Pero si esto es cierto, que las señales de virginidad no se encontraron en la joven,
But if this thing is true, that the tokens of virginity was not found in the young lady;
21 entonces sacarán a la joven a la puerta de la casa de su padre, y los hombres de su ciudad la apedrearán hasta que muera, porque ha hecho una locura en Israel, al jugar a la prostitución en la casa de su padre. Así eliminaréis el mal de entre vosotros.
then they shall bring out the young lady to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done folly in Israel [God prevails], to play the prostitute in her father’s house. So you shall remove the evil from among you.
22 Si se encuentra a un hombre acostado con una mujer casada con un marido, entonces ambos morirán, el hombre que se acostó con la mujer y la mujer. Así eliminarás el mal de Israel.
If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both die, the man who lay with the woman and the woman. So you shall remove the evil from Israel [God prevails].
23 Si hay una joven virgen comprometida para casarse con un marido, y un hombre la encuentra en la ciudad y se acuesta con ella,
If there is a young lady who is a virgin pledged to be married to a husband, and a man finds her in the city, and lies with her;
24 entonces los sacaréis a ambos a la puerta de esa ciudad, y los apedrearéis hasta que mueran; a la dama, por no haber llorado, estando en la ciudad; y al hombre, por haber humillado a la mujer de su prójimo. Así eliminaréis el mal de entre vosotros.
then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones; the lady, because she didn’t cry, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor’s wife. So you shall remove the evil from among you.
25 Pero si el hombre encuentra a la dama prometida en el campo, y el hombre la fuerza y se acuesta con ella, entonces sólo morirá el hombre que se acostó con ella;
But if the man finds the lady who is pledged to be married in the field, and the man forces her, and lies with her; then only the man who lay with her shall die;
26 pero a la dama no le haréis nada. No hay en la dama ningún pecado digno de muerte; pues como cuando un hombre se levanta contra su prójimo y lo mata, así es este asunto;
but to the lady you shall do nothing. There is in the lady no crime deserving penalty, sin ·missing the goal· worthy of death; for as when a man rises against his neighbor, and kills him, even so is this matter;
27 pues la encontró en el campo, la dama prometida para casarse lloró, y no hubo quien la salvara.
for he found her in the field, the pledged to be married lady cried, and there was no one to save her.
28 Si un hombre encuentra a una dama virgen, que no está comprometida para casarse, la agarra y se acuesta con ella, y son encontrados,
If a man finds a lady who is a virgin, who is not pledged to be married, grabs her, and lies with her, and they are found;
29 entonces el hombre que se acostó con ella dará al padre de la dama cincuenta siclos de plata. Ella será su esposa, porque la ha humillado. No podrá repudiarla en todos sus días.
then the man who lay with her shall give to the lady’s father fifty shekels [1.25 lb; 0.57 kg] of silver. She shall be his wife, because he has humbled her. He may not divorce her all his days.
30 El hombre no tomará la mujer de su padre, y no descubrirá la falda de su padre.
A man shall not take his father’s wife, and shall not uncover his father’s skirt.
