Hechos 2
1 Llegado el día de Pentecostés, estaban todos reunidos en un mismo lugar.
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together with one purpose.
2 De repente, vino del cielo un ruido como el de un viento impetuoso, que llenó toda la casa donde estaban sentados.
And suddenly a roar came out of the sky, like the rushing of a violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 Aparecieron unas lenguas como de fuego que se repartieron entre ellos, y una se posó sobre cada uno de ellos.
Fiery tongues appeared and were distributed to them, and it [a tongue] landed on each one of them.
4 Todos fueron llenos del Espíritu Santo y comenzaron a hablar con otras lenguas, según el Espíritu les daba la capacidad de hablar.
And they were all filled with Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages, as the Spirit was granting to them to speak out.
5 En Jerusalén vivían judíos, hombres devotos, de todas las naciones bajo el cielo.
Now there were devout men, Jews, from every nation under heaven, dwelling in Jerusalem.
6 Al oír este ruido, la multitud se reunió y quedó desconcertada, porque cada uno les oía hablar en su propia lengua.
So when that roar occurred, the crowd came together, and was bewildered, because each one was hearing them speaking to him in his own dialect.
7 Todos se asombraron y se maravillaron, diciéndose unos a otros: “Mirad, ¿no son galileos todos estos que hablan?
So they were amazed and marveled, saying to one another: “Hey, aren't all these who are speaking Galileans?
8 ¿Cómo oímos nosotros, cada uno en su propia lengua?
So how can each of us be hearing our own dialect in which we were born?
9 Partos, medos, elamitas y gentes de Mesopotamia, de Judea, de Capadocia, del Ponto, de Asia,
Parthians and Medes and Elamites; those dwelling in Mesopotamia, in Judea and Cappadocia, in Pontus and Asia,
10 de Frigia, de Panfilia, de Egipto, de las partes de Libia en torno a Cirene, de los visitantes de Roma, tanto judíos como prosélitos,
in Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene; and visitors from Rome—both Jews and proselytes—
11 cretenses y árabes: ¡les oímos hablar en nuestras lenguas de las maravillas de Dios!”
Cretans and Arabians; we hear them declaring the great works of God in our own languages.”
12 Todos estaban asombrados y perplejos, diciéndose unos a otros: “¿Qué significa esto?”
Yes they were all amazed and perplexed, saying one to another, “Whatever is going on?”
13 Otros, burlándose, decían: “Están llenos de vino nuevo”.
But different ones were jeering, saying, “They are full of sweet wine!”
14 Pero Pedro, poniéndose en pie con los once, alzó la voz y les dijo: “Hombres de Judea y todos los que habitáis en Jerusalén, sabed esto y escuchad mis palabras.
So Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and proclaimed to them: “Men—Jews and all who are dwelling in Jerusalem—let this be known to you; indeed, listen to my speech!
15 Porque éstos no están borrachos, como suponéis, ya que sólo es la tercera hora del día.
Because these are not drunk, as you suppose (since it is only the third hour of the day),
16 Pero esto es lo que se ha dicho por medio del profeta Joel:
but this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel:
17 ‘Será en los últimos días, dice Dios, que derramaré mi Espíritu sobre toda la carne. Tus hijos y tus hijas profetizarán. Sus jóvenes verán visiones. Tus viejos soñarán sueños.
‘It will be in the last days, says God: I will pour out from my Spirit upon all flesh; your sons and your daughters will prophesy; your young men will see visions; your old men will dream a dream.
18 Sí, y sobre mis siervos y mis siervas en aquellos días, Derramaré mi Espíritu, y ellos profetizarán.
In those days I will indeed pour out from my Spirit upon my male slaves and upon my female slaves, and they will prophesy.
19 Mostraré maravillas en el cielo, y señales en la tierra de abajo: sangre, y fuego, y oleadas de humo.
I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below: blood and fire and smoke vapor.
20 El sol se convertirá en oscuridad, y la luna en sangre, antes de que llegue el gran y glorioso día del Señor.
The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into ‘blood’ before the great and glorious day of the Lord will come.
21 El que invoque el nombre del Señor se salvará”.
And it will be: whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved!’
22 “¡Hombres de Israel, escuchad estas palabras! Jesús de Nazaret, un hombre aprobado por Dios para vosotros por las obras poderosas y los prodigios y señales que Dios hizo por él entre vosotros, como vosotros mismos sabéis,
“Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Natsorean, a man from God attested to you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by Him in your midst, as you yourselves well know,
23 a quien, entregado por el consejo determinado y la previsión de Dios, habéis tomado por la mano de hombres sin ley, crucificado y matado;
Him—being delivered up by the established purpose and foreknowledge of God—you murdered, having taken Him with lawless hands and crucified Him;
24 a quien Dios resucitó, habiéndolo librado de la agonía de la muerte, porque no era posible que fuera retenido por ella.
whom God raised up, ending the labor pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
25 Porque David dice acerca de él, ‘Vi al Señor siempre delante de mi cara, porque él está a mi derecha, para que no sea conmovido.
For David says concerning Him: ‘I always saw the Lord before my face, because He is at my right side so that I not be shaken.
26 Por eso mi corazón se alegró y mi lengua se regocijó. Además, mi carne también habitará en la esperanza,
Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced. Furthermore, even my flesh will repose upon hope,
because You will not abandon my soul in Hades, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see decay. (Hadēs g86)
28 Me diste a conocer los caminos de la vida. Me llenarás de alegría con tu presencia.’
You have made known to me roads of life; with Your presence You make me full of gladness.’
29 “Hermanos, puedo decirles libremente del patriarca David, que murió y fue sepultado, y su tumba está con nosotros hasta el día de hoy.
“Men, brothers, be it permitted to speak to you plainly about the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30 Por eso, siendo profeta y sabiendo que Dios le había jurado que del fruto de su cuerpo, según la carne, resucitaría al Cristo para que se sentara en su trono,
So then, he being a prophet and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath that of the fruit, according to flesh, of his loins He would raise up the Messiah to sit on his throne,
31 previendo esto, habló de la resurrección del Cristo, que su alma no quedó en el Hades y su carne no vio la decadencia. (Hadēs g86)
he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Messiah, that His soul was not abandoned in Hades, nor did His flesh see decay. (Hadēs g86)
32 A este Jesús lo resucitó Dios, de lo cual todos somos testigos.
“This Jesus God raised, to which we all are witnesses.
33 Siendo, pues, exaltado por la diestra de Dios, y habiendo recibido del Padre la promesa del Espíritu Santo, ha derramado esto que ahora veis y oís.
Therefore, having been exalted to God's right hand, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this that you now see and hear.
34 Porque David no subió a los cielos, sino que él mismo dice, El Señor dijo a mi Señor: “Siéntate a mi derecha
Further, David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says: ‘The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at my right hand
35 hasta que haga de tus enemigos un escabel para tus pies”.
until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.’
36 “Sepa, pues, ciertamente toda la casa de Israel que Dios le ha hecho Señor y Cristo, a este Jesús a quien vosotros crucificasteis.”
Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made Him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified!”
37 Al oír esto, se les heló el corazón y dijeron a Pedro y a los demás apóstoles: “Hermanos, ¿qué haremos?”
Now upon hearing this they were cut to the heart and said to Peter, and the rest of the Apostles, “Men, brothers, what shall we do?!”
38 Pedro les dijo: “Arrepentíos y bautícese cada uno de vosotros en el nombre de Jesucristo para el perdón de los pecados, y recibiréis el don del Espíritu Santo.
So Peter said to them: “Repent and be baptized, each one of you, upon the name of Jesus Christ, for forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 Porque la promesa es para vosotros y para vuestros hijos, y para todos los que están lejos, para todos los que el Señor nuestro Dios llame a sí.”
For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far away—as many, that is, as the Lord our God may call.”
40 Con muchas otras palabras les testificó y exhortó, diciendo: “¡Salvaos de esta generación torcida!”
With many different words he both testified and kept exhorting, saying, “Escape from this perverse generation!”
41 Entonces los que recibieron con gusto su palabra se bautizaron. Aquel día se añadieron unas tres mil almas.
Then those who gladly received his word were baptized, and that day about three thousand souls were added.
42 Continuaban con la enseñanza de los apóstoles, la comunión, el partimiento del pan y la oración.
And they continued steadfastly in the Apostles' teaching and in the fellowship, both in the breaking of the bread and in the prayers.
43 El temor se apoderó de todas las personas, y se hicieron muchos prodigios y señales por medio de los apóstoles.
Fear came upon every soul—many wonders and signs were taking place through the Apostles.
44 Todos los que creían estaban juntos y tenían todo en común.
Now all who believed were together and had all things in common;
45 Vendían sus posesiones y bienes, y los distribuían a todos, según la necesidad de cada uno.
they started selling both possessions and goods and were distributing to all according as anyone had need.
46 De día en día, permaneciendo unánimes en el templo y partiendo el pan en casa, tomaban el alimento con alegría y sencillez de corazón,
So day by day they continued steadfastly with one purpose in the temple and broke bread from house to house; they received their share of food with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 alabando a Dios y gozando del favor de todo el pueblo. El Señor añadía cada día a la asamblea a los que se salvaban.
praising God and having favor with all the people. And day by day the Lord added to the Church those who were being saved.
