2 Samuel 8
1 Después de esto, David golpeó a los filisteos y los sometió; y David tomó el freno de la ciudad madre de la mano de los filisteos.
And it came to pass after this, that David struck the Philistines, and put them to flight, and David took the tribute from out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 Derrotó a Moab, y los midió con el cordel, haciéndolos acostar en el suelo; y midió dos cordeles para darles muerte, y un cordel completo para mantenerlos vivos. Los moabitas se convirtieron en siervos de David, y trajeron tributo.
And David struck Moab, and measured them out with lines, having laid them down on the ground: and there were two lines for slaying, and two lines he kept alive: and Moab became servants to David, yielding tribute.
3 David también hirió a Hadadézer hijo de Rehob, rey de Soba, cuando iba a recuperar su dominio en el río.
And David struck Adraazar the son of Raab king of Suba, as he went to extend his power to the river Euphrates.
4 David le quitó mil setecientos jinetes y veinte mil hombres de a pie. David ató los caballos de los carros, pero reservó los suficientes para cien carros.
And David took a thousand of his chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all his chariot [horses], and he reserved to himself a hundred chariots.
5 Cuando los sirios de Damasco vinieron a ayudar a Hadadézer, rey de Soba, David hirió a veintidós mil hombres de los sirios.
And Syria of Damascus comes to help Adraazar king of Suba, and David struck twenty-two thousand men belonging to the Syrian.
6 Entonces David puso guarniciones en Siria de Damasco, y los sirios se convirtieron en siervos de David y le trajeron tributo. El Señor le dio la victoria a David dondequiera que fuera.
And David placed a garrison in Syria near Damascus, and the Syrians became servants and tributaries to David: and the Lord preserved David wherever he went.
7 David tomó los escudos de oro que tenían los siervos de Hadadézer y los llevó a Jerusalén.
And David took the golden bracelets which were on the servants of Adraazar king of Suba, and brought them to Jerusalem. And Susakim king of Egypt took them, when he went up to Jerusalem in the days of Roboam son of Solomon.
8 De Betah y de Berothai, ciudades de Hadadzer, el rey David tomó una gran cantidad de bronce.
And king David took from Metebac, and from the choice cities of Adraazar, very much brass: with that Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the lavers, and all the furniture.

And You the king of Hemath heard that David had struck all the host of Adraazar.
10 entonces Toi envió a Joram, su hijo, a saludar al rey David y a bendecirlo, porque había luchado contra Hadadézer y lo había golpeado; pues Hadadézer tenía guerras con Toi. Joram trajo consigo vasos de plata, vasos de oro y vasos de bronce.
And You sent Jedduram his son to king David, to ask him of his welfare, and to congratulate him on his fighting against Adraazar and striking him, for he was an enemy to Adraazar: and in his hands were vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass.
11 El rey David también los dedicó a Yahvé, con la plata y el oro que dedicó de todas las naciones que sometió:
And these king David consecrated to the Lord, with the silver and with the gold which he consecrated out of all the cities which he conquered,
12 de Siria, de Moab, de los hijos de Amón, de los filisteos, de Amalec y del botín de Hadadézer, hijo de Rehob, rey de Soba.
out of Idumea, and out of Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalec, and from the spoils of Adraazar son of Raab king of Suba.
13 David se ganó una reputación cuando volvió de abatir a dieciocho mil hombres de los sirios en el Valle de la Sal.
And David made [himself] a name: and when he returned he struck Idumea in Gebelem to [the number of] eighteen thousand.
14 Puso guarniciones en Edom. En todo Edom puso guarniciones, y todos los edomitas se convirtieron en siervos de David. El Señor le dio la victoria a David dondequiera que fuera.
And he set garrisons in Idumea, even in all Idumea: and all the Idumeans were servants to the king. And the Lord preserved David wherever he went.
15 David reinó sobre todo Israel; y David hizo justicia y rectitud a todo su pueblo.
And David reigned over all Israel: and David wrought judgment and justice over all his people.
16 Joab, hijo de Sarvia, estaba al frente del ejército; Josafat, hijo de Ahilud, era secretario;
And Joab the son of Saruia [was] over the host; and Josaphat the son of Achilud [was keeper] of the records.
17 Sadoc, hijo de Ajitub, y Ajimelec, hijo de Abiatar, eran sacerdotes; Seraías era escriba;
And Sadoc the son of Achitob, and Achimelech son of Abiathar, [were] priests; and Sasa [was] the scribe,
18 Benaía, hijo de Joiada, estaba al frente de los cereteos y de los peleteos; y los hijos de David eran ministros principales.
and Banaeas son of Jodae [was] councillor, and the Chelethite and the Phelethite, and the sons of David, were princes of the court.
