2 Crónicas 7

1 Cuando Salomón terminó de orar, bajó fuego del cielo y consumió el holocausto y los sacrificios, y la gloria de Yahvé llenó la casa.

And when Solomon had made an end of praying, a fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt-offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.

2 Los sacerdotes no podían entrar en la casa de Yahvé, porque la gloria de Yahvé llenaba la casa de Yahvé.

And the priests were not able to enter into the house of the Lord; because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord's house.

3 Todos los hijos de Israel miraban, cuando el fuego descendía y la gloria de Yahvé estaba sobre la casa. Se inclinaron con el rostro hacia el suelo sobre el pavimento, adoraron y dieron gracias a Yahvé, diciendo “Porque él es bueno, porque su bondad es eterna”.

And all the children of Israel were looking on as the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord [was resting] upon the house; and they kneeled down with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and prostrated themselves, and gave thanks unto the Lord, for he is good; because unto everlasting endureth his kindness.

4 Entonces el rey y todo el pueblo ofrecieron sacrificios ante el Señor.

And the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord.

5 El rey Salomón ofreció un sacrificio de veintidós mil cabezas de ganado y ciento veinte mil ovejas. Así el rey y todo el pueblo dedicaron la casa de Dios.

And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep: and so they dedicated the house of God, the king and all the people.

6 Los sacerdotes estaban de pie, según sus cargos; los levitas también con instrumentos de música de Yahvé, que el rey David había hecho para dar gracias a Yahvé, cuando David alababa por su ministerio, diciendo: “Porque su bondad es eterna.” Los sacerdotes tocaron las trompetas delante de ellos, y todo Israel se puso en pie.

And the priests were standing on their stations, and the Levites with the instruments of the music of the Lord, which king David had made to give thanks unto the Lord, because unto everlasting endureth his kindness, with the song of praise of David in their hand; and the priests blew the trumpets opposite to them, and all Israel were standing.

7 Además, Salomón santificó el centro del atrio que estaba delante de la casa de Yahvé, porque allí ofrecía los holocaustos y la grasa de los sacrificios de paz, porque el altar de bronce que Salomón había hecho no podía recibir el holocausto, el presente y la grasa.

And Solomon hallowed the interior of the court that was before the house of the Lord; for he prepared there the burnt-offerings, and the fat of the peace-offerings; because the copper altar which Solomon had made was not able to contain the burnt-offerings, and the meat-offerings, and the fat.

8 Salomón celebró entonces la fiesta durante siete días, y todo Israel con él, una asamblea muy grande, desde la entrada de Hamat hasta el arroyo de Egipto.

And Solomon held the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from the entrance of Chamath unto the river of Egypt.

9 El octavo día celebraron una asamblea solemne, pues celebraron la dedicación del altar durante siete días, y la fiesta durante siete días.

And they held on the eighth day a solemn assembly; for the dedication of the altar they held seven days, and the feast seven days.

10 El día veintitrés del mes séptimo, despidió al pueblo para que se fuera a sus tiendas, alegres y contentos de corazón por la bondad que Yahvé había mostrado a David, a Salomón y a su pueblo Israel.

And on the three-and-twentieth day of the seventh month he dismissed the people unto their tents, joyful and glad of heart because of the good that the Lord had done for David, and for Solomon, and for Israel his people.

11 Así terminó Salomón la casa de Yahvé y la casa del rey, y completó con éxito todo lo que le vino al corazón de Salomón para hacer en la casa de Yahvé y en su propia casa.

Thus did Solomon complete the house of the Lord, and the king's house; and [in] all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of the Lord, and in his own house, he prospered.

12 Entonces Yahvé se le apareció a Salomón de noche y le dijo: “He escuchado tu oración y he elegido este lugar para mí como casa de sacrificio.

Then appeared the Lord to Solomon during the night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and I have made choice of this place for myself as a house of sacrifice.

13 “Si cierro el cielo para que no llueva, o si ordeno a la langosta que devore la tierra, o si envío la peste entre mi pueblo,

If I shut up the heavens that there be no rain, or if I give a charge to the locusts to devour off the land, or if I send a pestilence among my people:

14 si mi pueblo, llamado por mi nombre, se humilla, ora, busca mi rostro y se convierte de sus malos caminos, entonces yo escucharé desde el cielo, perdonaré su pecado y sanaré su tierra.

And if my people, over whom my name is called, do then humble themselves, and pray, and seek my presence, and turn away from their evil ways: then will I also hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

15 Ahora mis ojos estarán abiertos y mis oídos atentos a la oración que se haga en este lugar.

Now, my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive unto the prayer on this place.

16 Porque ahora he elegido y santificado esta casa, para que mi nombre esté allí para siempre; y mis ojos y mi corazón estarán allí perpetuamente.

And now I have chosen and hallowed this house, that my name may be there for ever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there at all times.

17 “En cuanto a ti, si andas delante de mí como anduvo David, tu padre, y haces todo lo que te he mandado, y guardas mis estatutos y mis ordenanzas,

And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father hath walked, so as to do in accordance with all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my ordinances:

18 entonces estableceré el trono de tu reino, según el pacto que hice con David, tu padre, diciendo: ‘No te faltará un hombre que sea gobernante en Israel’.

Then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom, just as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall never fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.

19 Pero si se apartan y abandonan mis estatutos y mis mandamientos que he puesto delante de ustedes, y van a servir a otros dioses y los adoran,

But if ye will indeed turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and will go and serve other gods, and bow down to them:

20 entonces los arrancaré de raíz de mi tierra que les he dado; y esta casa, que he santificado para mi nombre, la echaré de mi vista, y la convertiré en proverbio y en palabra de guerra entre todos los pueblos.

Then will I pluck them up out of my land which I have given unto them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast away from my sight, and I will render it to be for a proverb and for a by-word among all the people.

21 Esta casa, que es tan alta, todo el que pase por ella se asombrará y dirá: “¿Por qué ha hecho esto Yahvé a esta tierra y a esta casa?”

And this house, which hath been so exalted, shall become an astonishment to every one that passeth by it: so that he will say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and unto this house?

22 Responderán: “Porque abandonaron a Yahvé, el Dios de sus padres, que los sacó de la tierra de Egipto, y tomaron otros dioses, los adoraron y los sirvieron. Por eso ha traído sobre ellos todo este mal’”.

And men shall then say, For the cause that they forsook the Lord the God of their fathers, who had brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and they took hold of other gods, and bowed down to them, and served them: therefore hath he brought upon them all this evil.
