2 Crónicas 22
1 Los habitantes de Jerusalén nombraron rey a Ocozías, su hijo menor, en su lugar, porque la banda de hombres que vino con los árabes al campamento había matado a todos los mayores. Así reinó Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá.
And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.
2 Ocozías tenía cuarenta y dos años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó un año en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Atalía, hija de Omri.
Twenty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.
3 También él anduvo en los caminos de la casa de Acab, porque su madre fue su consejera para actuar con maldad.
He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly.
4 Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, al igual que la casa de Acab, pues ellos fueron sus consejeros después de la muerte de su padre, para su destrucción.
Wherefore he did evil in the sight of Yhwh like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to his destruction.
5 También siguió su consejo y fue con Joram, hijo de Ajab, rey de Israel, a la guerra contra Hazael, rey de Siria, en Ramot de Galaad; y los sirios hirieron a Joram.
He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth–gilead: and the Syrians smote Joram.
6 Volvió para curarse en Jezreel de las heridas que le habían hecho en Ramá, cuando luchó contra Hazael, rey de Siria. Azarías hijo de Joram, rey de Judá, bajó a ver a Joram hijo de Ajab en Jezreel, porque estaba enfermo.
And he returned to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds which were given him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Azariah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab at Jezreel, because he was sick.
7 La destrucción de Ocozías fue obra de Dios, ya que se dirigió a Joram; pues cuando éste llegó, salió con Joram contra Jehú, hijo de Nimsí, a quien Yahvé había ungido para que destruyera la casa de Acab.
And the destruction of Ahaziah was of God by coming to Joram: for when he was come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom Yhwh had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.
8 Cuando Jehú ejecutaba el juicio sobre la casa de Ajab, encontró a los príncipes de Judá y a los hijos de los hermanos de Ocozías sirviendo a Ocozías, y los mató.
And it came to pass, that, when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Judah, and the sons of the brethren of Ahaziah, that ministered to Ahaziah, he slew them.
9 Buscó a Ocozías, y lo capturaron (ahora estaba escondido en Samaria), lo llevaron a Jehú y lo mataron; y lo enterraron, porque dijeron: “Es el hijo de Josafat, que buscó a Yahvé con todo su corazón.” La casa de Ocozías no tenía poder para mantener el reino.
And he sought Ahaziah: and they caught him, (for he was hid in Samaria, ) and brought him to Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought Yhwh with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom.
10 Cuando Atalía, madre de Ocozías, vio que su hijo había muerto, se levantó y destruyó toda la descendencia real de la casa de Judá.
But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah.
11 Pero Josabet, hija del rey, tomó a Joás, hijo de Ocozías, y lo rescató sigilosamente de entre los hijos del rey que habían sido asesinados, y lo puso a él y a su nodriza en la alcoba. Entonces Josabet, hija del rey Joram, esposa del sacerdote Joiada (pues era hermana de Ocozías), lo escondió de Atalía, para que no lo matara.
But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king’s sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, ( for she was the sister of Ahaziah, ) hid him from Athaliah, so that she slew him not.
12 Estuvo con ellos escondido en la casa de Dios seis años, mientras Atalía reinaba sobre el país.
And he was with them hid in the house of God six years: and Athaliah reigned over the land.
