1 Timoteo 2
1 Exhorto, pues, ante todo, a que se hagan peticiones, oraciones, súplicas y acciones de gracias por todos los hombres,
I exhort therefore first of all to be made entreaties, prayers intercessions, [and] thanksgivings on behalf of all men,
2 por los reyes y por todos los que están en autoridad, para que llevemos una vida tranquila y sosegada en toda piedad y reverencia.
for kings and all those in authority being, so that a tranquil and quiet life we may lead in all godliness and in [all] dignity.
3 Porque esto es bueno y agradable a los ojos de Dios, nuestro Salvador,
This (for *k*) [is] good and acceptable before the Savior of us God,
4 que desea que todos los hombres se salven y lleguen al pleno conocimiento de la verdad.
who all men desires to be saved and to [the] knowledge of [the] truth to come.
5 Porque hay un solo Dios y un solo mediador entre Dios y los hombres, el hombre Cristo Jesús,
One for God [there is], one then mediator between God and men, [the] man Christ Jesus
6 que se entregó a sí mismo en rescate por todos, el testimonio a su debido tiempo,
the [One] having given Himself [as] a ransom for all, the testimony proper times in [their] own,
7 para el cual fui designado predicador y apóstol — digo la verdad en Cristo, no miento —, maestro de los gentiles en la fe y la verdad.
in regard to which was appointed I myself a herald and an apostle — [the] truth I am speaking (in Christ *K*) not I do lie — a teacher of [the] Gentiles in faith and truth.
8 Deseo, pues, que los hombres oren en todo lugar, levantando las manos santas, sin ira ni duda.
I desire therefore to pray the men in every place lifting up holy hands apart from anger and (dissension; *NK(O)*)
9 De la misma manera, que también las mujeres se adornen con ropa decente, con modestia y propiedad, no con cabellos trenzados, oro, perlas o ropa costosa,
likewise also (*k*) women in apparel respectable with modesty and self-control adorning themselves, not with braided hair (or with gold *N(k)O*) or with pearls or with clothing costly,
10 sino con buenas obras, lo cual es apropiado para las mujeres que profesan la piedad.
but with what is becoming to women professing [the] fear of God, through works good.
11 Que la mujer aprenda en tranquilidad con plena sumisión.
A woman in quietness should learn in all submissiveness;
12 Pero no permito que la mujer enseñe, ni que ejerza autoridad sobre el hombre, sino que esté en quietud.
To teach however a woman not I do permit nor to use authority over a man but to be in quietness.
13 Porque primero fue formado Adán y luego Eva.
Adam for first was formed, then Eve.
14 Adán no fue engañado, pero la mujer, siendo engañada, ha caído en la desobediencia;
And Adam not was deceived, but the woman (having been deceived *N(k)O*) into transgression has come;
15 pero se salvará por medio de sus hijos, si continúan en la fe, el amor y la santidad con sobriedad.
She will be saved however through childbearing if they shall abide in faith and in love and in holiness with self-restraint.
