1 Samuel 19
1 Saúl habló con su hijo Jonatán y con todos sus servidores para que mataran a David. Pero Jonatán, hijo de Saúl, se alegró mucho de David.
And Saul speaketh unto Jonathan his son, and unto all his servants, to put David to death,
2 Jonatán le dijo a David: “Mi padre Saúl quiere matarte. Ahora, pues, cuídate por la mañana, vive en un lugar secreto y escóndete.
and Jonathan son of Saul delighted exceedingly in David, and Jonathan declareth to David, saying, 'Saul my father is seeking to put thee to death, and, now, take heed, I pray thee, in the morning, and thou hast abode in a secret place, and been hidden,
3 Yo saldré y me pondré al lado de mi padre en el campo donde estás, y hablaré con mi padre sobre ti; y si veo algo, te lo diré.”
and I — I go out, and have stood by the side of my father in the field where thou [art], and I speak of thee unto my father, and have seen what [is coming], and have declared to thee.'
4 Jonatán habló bien de David a Saúl, su padre, y le dijo: “No permitas que el rey peque contra su siervo, contra David, porque él no ha pecado contra ti, y porque sus obras han sido muy buenas para contigo;
And Jonathan speaketh good of David unto Saul his father, and saith unto him, 'Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works for thee [are] very good;
5 porque él puso su vida en su mano e hirió al filisteo, y Yahvé obró una gran victoria para todo Israel. Tú lo viste y te alegraste. ¿Por qué, pues, pecarás contra la sangre inocente, matando a David sin causa?”
yea, he putteth his life in his hand, and smiteth the Philistine, and Jehovah worketh a great salvation for all Israel; thou hast seen, and dost rejoice, and why dost thou sin against innocent blood, to put David to death for nought?'
6 Saúl escuchó la voz de Jonatán y juró: “Vive Yahvé que no lo matarán”.
And Saul hearkeneth to the voice of Jonathan, and Saul sweareth, 'Jehovah liveth — he doth not die.'
7 Jonatán llamó a David, y Jonatán le mostró todas esas cosas. Entonces Jonatán llevó a David ante Saúl, y éste estuvo en su presencia como antes.
And Jonathan calleth for David, and Jonathan declareth to him all these words, and Jonathan bringeth in David unto Saul, and he is before him as heretofore.
8 Volvió a haber guerra. David salió y luchó con los filisteos, y los mató con gran mortandad; y ellos huyeron ante él.
And there addeth to be war, and David goeth out and fighteth against the Philistines, and smiteth among them — a great smiting, and they flee from his face.
9 Un espíritu maligno de parte de Yahvé estaba sobre Saúl mientras éste estaba sentado en su casa con su lanza en la mano, y David tocaba música con su mano.
And a spirit of sadness [from] Jehovah is unto Saul, and he is sitting in his house, and his javelin in his hand, and David is playing with the hand,
10 Saúl trató de clavar a David en la pared con la lanza, pero éste se escabulló de la presencia de Saúl, y clavó la lanza en la pared. David huyó y escapó esa noche.
and Saul seeketh to smite with the javelin through David, and through the wall, and he freeth himself from the presence of Saul, and he smiteth the javelin through the wall; and David hath fled and escapeth during that night.
11 Saúl envió mensajeros a la casa de David para vigilarlo y matarlo por la mañana. Mical, la esposa de David, le dijo: “Si no salvas tu vida esta noche, mañana te matarán”.
And Saul sendeth messengers unto the house of David to watch him, and to put him to death in the morning; and Michal his wife declareth to David, saying, 'If thou art not delivering thy life to-night — tomorrow thou art put to death.'
12 Entonces Mical hizo bajar a David por la ventana. Él se alejó, huyó y escapó.
And Michal causeth David to go down through the window, and he goeth on, and fleeth, and escapeth;
13 Mical tomó el terafín y lo puso en la cama, y le puso una almohada de pelo de cabra en la cabeza y lo cubrió con ropa.
and Michal taketh the teraphim, and layeth on the bed, and the mattress of goats' [hair] she hath put [for] his pillows, and covereth with a garment.
14 Cuando Saúl envió mensajeros para llevarse a David, ella dijo: “Está enfermo”.
And Saul sendeth messengers to take David, and she saith, 'He [is] sick.'
15 Saúl envió a los mensajeros a ver a David, diciendo: “Tráiganlo a la cama, para que lo mate”.
And Saul sendeth the messengers to see David, saying, 'Bring him up in the bed unto me,' — to put him to death.
16 Cuando los mensajeros entraron, he aquí que el terafín estaba en la cama, con la almohada de pelo de cabra a la cabeza.
And the messengers come in, and lo, the teraphim [are] on the bed, and the mattress of goats' [hair], [for] his pillows.
17 Saúl dijo a Mical: “¿Por qué me has engañado así y has dejado ir a mi enemigo, de modo que ha escapado?” Mical respondió a Saúl: “Me dijo: ‘¡Déjame ir! ¿Por qué he de matarte?”
And Saul saith unto Michal, 'Why thus hast thou deceived me — that thou dost send away mine enemy, and he is escaped?' and Michal saith unto Saul, 'He said unto me, Send me away: why do I put thee to death?'
18 David huyó y escapó, y vino a Samuel en Ramá, y le contó todo lo que Saúl le había hecho. Él y Samuel se fueron a vivir a Naiot.
And David hath fled, and is escaped, and cometh in unto Samuel to Ramath, and declareth to him all that Saul hath done to him, and he goeth, he and Samuel, and they dwell in Naioth.
19 Le avisaron a Saúl diciendo: “He aquí que David está en Naiot, en Ramá”.
And it is declared to Saul, saying, 'Lo, David [is] in Naioth in Ramah.'
20 Saúl envió mensajeros para apresar a David; y cuando vieron a la compañía de los profetas profetizando, y a Samuel de pie como jefe sobre ellos, el Espíritu de Dios vino sobre los mensajeros de Saúl, y ellos también profetizaron.
And Saul sendeth messengers to take David, and they see the assembly of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing, set over them, and the Spirit of God is on Saul's messengers, and they prophesy — they also.
21 Cuando se le informó a Saúl, envió otros mensajeros, y ellos también profetizaron. Saúl volvió a enviar mensajeros la tercera vez, y también profetizaron.
And they declare [it] to Saul, and he sendeth other messengers, and they prophesy — they also; and Saul addeth and sendeth messengers a third time, and they prophesy — they also.
22 También fue a Ramá y llegó al gran pozo que está en Secu, y preguntó: “¿Dónde están Samuel y David?” Uno dijo: “He aquí que están en Naioth, en Ramá”.
And he goeth — he also — to Ramath, and cometh in unto the great well which [is] in Sechu, and asketh, and saith, 'Where [are] Samuel and David?' and [one] saith, 'Lo, in Naioth in Ramah.'
23 Allí fue a Naiot en Ramá. Entonces el Espíritu de Dios vino también sobre él, y siguió profetizando hasta llegar a Naiot en Ramá.
And he goeth thither — unto Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of God is upon him — him also; and he goeth, going on, and he prophesieth till his coming in to Naioth in Ramah,
24 También se despojó de sus ropas. También profetizó ante Samuel y se acostó desnudo todo aquel día y toda aquella noche. Por eso dicen: “¿También Saúl está entre los profetas?”
and he strippeth off — he also — his garments, and prophesieth — he also — before Samuel, and falleth down naked all that day and all the night; therefore they say, 'Is Saul also among the prophets?'
