1 Reyes 15

1 En el año dieciocho del rey Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, Abiyam comenzó a reinar sobre Judá.

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jerobo'am the son of Nebat became Abiyam king over Judah.

2 Reinó tres años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Maaca, hija de Abisalón.

Three years he reigned in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Ma'achah, the daughter of Abishalom.

3 Anduvo en todos los pecados de su padre, que había hecho antes de él, y su corazón no era perfecto con Yahvé su Dios, como el corazón de David su padre.

And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not entire with the Lord his God, like the heart of David his father.

4 Sin embargo, por causa de David, Yahvé su Dios le dio una lámpara en Jerusalén, para que pusiera a su hijo después de él y para que estableciera a Jerusalén;

Nevertheless for the sake of David did the Lord his God give him a rule in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to allow Jerusalem to exist.

5 porque David hizo lo que era justo a los ojos de Yahvé, y no se apartó de nada de lo que le mandó en todos los días de su vida, excepto solamente en el asunto de Urías el hitita.

Because David did what is right in the eyes of the Lord, and turned not aside from all that he had commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriyah the Hittite.

6 Hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todos los días de su vida.

And there had been war between Rehobo'am and Jerobo'am all the days of his life.

7 Los demás hechos de Abijam, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Hubo guerra entre Abijam y Jeroboam.

And the rest of the acts of Abiyam, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah. And there was [also] war between Abiyam and Jerobo'am.

8 Abijam durmió con sus padres, y lo enterraron en la ciudad de David; y su hijo Asa reinó en su lugar.

And Abiyam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Assa his son became king in his stead.

9 En el vigésimo año de Jeroboam, rey de Israel, Asa comenzó a reinar sobre Judá.

And in the twentieth year of Jerobo'am the king of Israel became Assa king over Judah.

10 Reinó cuarenta y un años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Maaca, hija de Abisalón.

And forty and one years did he reign in Jerusalem. And the name of his mother was Ma'achah, the daughter of Abishalom.

11 Asá hizo lo que era justo a los ojos de Yahvé, como lo hizo su padre David.

And Assa did what is right in the eyes of the Lord, like David his father.

12 Expulsó a los sodomitas del país y eliminó todos los ídolos que habían hecho sus padres.

And he put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols which his fathers had made.

13 También destituyó a su madre Maacá como reina, porque había hecho una imagen abominable como Asera. Asa cortó su imagen y la quemó en el arroyo Cedrón.

And also Ma'achah his mother, even her he removed from being queen; because she had made a scandalous image for the grove; and Assa cut down her scandalous image, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

14 Pero los lugares altos no fueron quitados. Sin embargo, el corazón de Asa fue perfecto con Yahvé todos sus días.

But the high-places were not removed; nevertheless Assa's heart was entire with the Lord all his days.

15 Llevó a la casa de Yahvé las cosas que su padre había dedicado, y las que él mismo había dedicado: plata, oro y utensilios.

And he brought the things which his father had sanctified, and his own sanctified things, into the house of the Lord, silver, and gold, and vessels.

16 Hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, durante todos sus días.

And there was war between Assa and Ba'sha the king of Israel all their days.

17 Baasa, rey de Israel, subió contra Judá y edificó Ramá, para no permitir que nadie saliera ni entrara a Asa, rey de Judá.

And Ba'sha the king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, in order not to suffer any one to go out or come in to Assa the king of Judah.

18 Entonces Asa tomó toda la plata y el oro que quedaba en los tesoros de la casa de Yahvé y en los tesoros de la casa del rey, y lo entregó en manos de sus servidores. Entonces el rey Asá los envió a Ben Hadad, hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hezión, rey de Siria, que vivía en Damasco, diciendo:

Then did Assa take all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king's house, and gave them into the hand of his servants; and king Assa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Chesyon, the king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying,

19 “Que haya un tratado entre tú y yo, como el que hubo entre mi padre y tu padre. He aquí que te he enviado un presente de plata y oro. Ve, rompe tu tratado con Baasa, rey de Israel, para que se aparte de mí”.

A covenant is between me and thee, [as] between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; go and do break thy covenant with Ba'sha the king of Israel, that he may withdraw from me.

20 Ben Hadad escuchó al rey Asá y envió a los capitanes de sus ejércitos contra las ciudades de Israel, y atacó a Ijón, a Dan, a Abel Bet Maaca y a toda Cinerot, con toda la tierra de Neftalí.

And Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Assa, and sent the captains of the armies which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote 'Iyon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-ma'achah, and the whole of Kinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

21 Cuando Baasa se enteró de esto, dejó de construir Rama y vivió en Tirsa.

And it came to pass, when Ba'sha heard this, that he left off the building of Ramah, and remained in Tirzah.

22 Entonces el rey Asá hizo una proclama a todo Judá. Nadie quedó exento. Se llevaron las piedras de Rama y su madera, con las que Baasa había construido; y el rey Asa las utilizó para construir Geba de Benjamín y Mizpa.

Then king Assa called together by proclamation all Judah, none being exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and its timber, wherewith Ba'sha had built; and king Assa built with them Geba' of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

23 El resto de todos los hechos de Asa, y todo su poderío, y todo lo que hizo, y las ciudades que edificó, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Pero en el tiempo de su vejez enfermó de los pies.

And the rest of all the acts of Assa, and all his mighty deeds, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah. Nevertheless in the time of his old age he became diseased in his feet.

24 Asa durmió con sus padres y fue sepultado con ellos en la ciudad de su padre David; y su hijo Josafat reinó en su lugar.

And Assa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son became king in his stead.

25 Nadab hijo de Jeroboam comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en el segundo año de Asa, rey de Judá; y reinó sobre Israel dos años.

And Nadab the son of Jerobo'am became king over Israel in the second year of Assa the king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years.

26 Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, y anduvo en el camino de su padre, y en su pecado con que hizo pecar a Israel.

And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, and he walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he had induced Israel to sin.

27 Baasa, hijo de Ajías, de la casa de Isacar, conspiró contra él; y Baasa lo hirió en Gibbetón, que era de los filisteos, pues Nadab y todo Israel estaban sitiando Gibbetón.

And Ba'sha the son of Achiyah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Ba'sha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines: while Nadab and all Israel were besieging Gibbethon.

28 En el tercer año de Asa, rey de Judá, Baasa lo mató y reinó en su lugar.

And Ba'sha slew him in the third year of Assa the king of Judah, and became king in his stead.

29 Tan pronto como fue rey, golpeó a toda la casa de Jeroboam. No dejó a Jeroboam ni un solo aliento, hasta que lo destruyó, según la palabra de Yahvé, que habló por medio de su siervo Ahías, el silonita;

And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jerobo'am; he left not any that breathed unto Jerobo'am, until he had destroyed him, according to the word of the Lord, which he had spoken by his servant Achiyah the Shilonite;

30 por los pecados de Jeroboam que cometió y con los que hizo pecar a Israel, a causa de su provocación con la que hizo enojar a Yahvé, el Dios de Israel.

Because of the sins of Jerobo'am which he had sinned, and through which he had induced Israel to sin, by his provoking wherewith he provoked the Lord the God of Israel to anger.

31 El resto de los hechos de Nadab y todo lo que hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

And the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

32 Hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, durante todos sus días.

And there was war between Assa and Ba'sha the king of Israel all their days.

33 En el tercer año de Asá, rey de Judá, Baasa hijo de Ahías comenzó a reinar sobre todo Israel en Tirsa durante veinticuatro años.

In the third year of Assa the king of Judah became Ba'sha the son of Achiyah king over all Israel, in Thirzah, [for] twenty and four years.

34 Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, y anduvo en el camino de Jeroboam, y en su pecado con que hizo pecar a Israel.

And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, and walked in the way of Jerobo'am, and in his sin wherewith he had induced Israel to sin.
