1 Reyes 10

1 Cuando la reina de Sabá se enteró de la fama de Salomón en cuanto al nombre de Yahvé, vino a probarlo con preguntas difíciles.

And the queen of Saba heard of the name of Solomon, and the name of the Lord, and she came to try him with riddles.

2 Llegó a Jerusalén con una caravana muy grande, con camellos que llevaban especias, mucho oro y piedras preciosas; y cuando llegó a Salomón, habló con él de todo lo que tenía en su corazón.

And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train; and [there came] camels bearing spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and she came in to Solomon, and told him all that was in her heart.

3 Salomón respondió a todas sus preguntas. No hubo nada que se le ocultara al rey que no le dijera.

And Solomon answered all her questions: and there was not a question overlooked by the king which he did not answer her.

4 Cuando la reina de Sabá vio toda la sabiduría de Salomón, la casa que había construido,

And the queen of Saba saw all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house which he built,

5 la comida de su mesa, la asistencia de sus sirvientes, la asistencia de sus funcionarios, sus ropas, sus coperos, y su ascenso por el cual subía a la casa de Yahvé, no hubo más espíritu en ella.

and the provision of Solomon and the sitting of his attendants, and the standing of his servants, and his raiment, and his cupbearers, and his whole burnt offering which he offered in the house of the Lord, and she was utterly amazed.

6 Ella le dijo al rey: “Fue una noticia verdadera la que oí en mi tierra acerca de tus actos y de tu sabiduría.

And she said to king Solomon, [It was] a true report which I heard in my land of your words and your wisdom.

7 Sin embargo, no creí las palabras hasta que llegué y mis ojos lo vieron. He aquí que no se me dijo ni la mitad. Tu sabiduría y tu prosperidad superan la fama que he oído.

But I believed not them that told me, until I came and my eyes saw: and, behold, the words as they reported to me are not the half: you have exceeded in goodness all the report which I heard in my land.

8 Felices son tus hombres, felices son estos tus siervos que están continuamente ante ti, que escuchan tu sabiduría.

Blessed [are] your wives, blessed [are] these your servants who stand before you continually, who hear all your wisdom.

9 Bendito sea el Señor, tu Dios, que se complació en ti para ponerte en el trono de Israel. Porque Yahvé amó a Israel para siempre, por eso te hizo rey, para que hicieras justicia y rectitud.”

Blessed be the Lord your God, who has taken pleasure in you, to set you upon the throne of Israel, because the Lord loved Israel to establish [him] for ever; and he has made you king over them, to execute judgment with justice, and in their causes.

10 Ella le dio al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro, una gran cantidad de especias y piedras preciosas. Nunca más hubo tanta abundancia de especias como las que la reina de Sabá dio al rey Salomón.

And she gave to Solomon a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and very many spices, and precious stones: there had not come any other spices so abundant as those which the queen of Saba gave to king Solomon.

11 La flota de Hiram que traía oro de Ofir también trajo de Ofir grandes cantidades de sándalos y piedras preciosas.

And the ship of Chiram which brought the gold from Suphir, brought very much hewn timber and precious stones.

12 El rey hizo de los almugares pilares para la casa de Yahvé y para la casa del rey, también arpas e instrumentos de cuerda para los cantores; no vinieron ni se vieron hasta hoy tales sándalos.

And the king made the hewn timber [into] buttresses of the house of the Lord and the king's house, and lyres and harps for singers: such hewn timber had not come upon the earth, nor have been seen anywhere until this day.

13 El rey Salomón dio a la reina de Sabá todo lo que deseaba, todo lo que pedía, además de lo que Salomón le daba de su generosidad real. Entonces se volvió y se fue a su tierra, ella y sus sirvientes.

And king Solomon gave to the queen of Saba all that she desired, whatever she asked, besides all that he had given her by the hand of king Solomon: and she returned, and came into her own land, she and her servants.

14 El peso del oro que llegó a Salomón en un año fue de seiscientos sesenta y seis talentosde oro,

And the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold.

15 además de lo que traían los comerciantes, y el tráfico de los mercaderes, y de todos los reyes de los pueblos mixtos, y de los gobernadores del país.

Besides the tributes of them that were subjects, both merchants and all the kings of the [country] beyond [the river], and of the princess of the land.

16 El rey Salomón hizo doscientos escudos de oro batido; seiscientos siclos de oro fueron para un escudo.

And Solomon made three hundred spears of beaten gold: three hundred shekels of gold were upon one spear.

17 Hizo trescientos escudos de oro batido; tres minas de oro fueron para un escudo; y el rey los puso en la Casa del Bosque del Líbano.

And three hundred shields of beaten gold: and three pounds of gold were in one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

18 Además, el rey hizo un gran trono de marfil y lo cubrió con el mejor oro.

And the king made a great ivory throne, and gilded it with pure gold.

19 El trono tenía seis peldaños, y la parte superior del trono era redonda por detrás; y había apoyos para los brazos a ambos lados del lugar del asiento, y dos leones de pie junto a los apoyos para los brazos.

The throne [had] six steps, and calves in bold relief to the throne behind it, and side-pieces on either hand of the place of the seat, and two lions standing by the side-pieces,

20 Doce leones estaban de pie a un lado y al otro en los seis escalones. No se hizo nada parecido en ningún reino.

and twelve lions standing there on the six steps on either side: it was not so done in any [other] kingdom.

21 Todos los vasos del rey Salomón eran de oro, y todos los vasos de la Casa del Bosque del Líbano eran de oro puro. Ninguno era de plata, porque se consideraba de poco valor en los días de Salomón.

And all the vessels made by Solomon [were] of gold, and the lavers [were] golden, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; there was no silver, for it was not accounted of in the days of Solomon.

22 Porque el rey tenía una flota de barcos de Tarsis en el mar con la flota de Hiram. Una vez cada tres años la flota de Tarsis venía trayendo oro, plata, marfil, monos y pavos reales.

For Solomon had a ship of Tharsis in the sea with the ships of Chiram: one ship came to the king every three years out of Tharsis, [laden with] gold and silver, and wrought stones, and hewn stones.

23 Así, el rey Salomón superó a todos los reyes de la tierra en riquezas y en sabiduría.

And Solomon increased beyond all the kings of the earth in wealth and wisdom.

24 Toda la tierra buscaba la presencia de Salomón para escuchar su sabiduría que Dios había puesto en su corazón.

And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom which the Lord [had] put into his heart.

25 Año tras año, cada hombre traía su tributo, vasos de plata, vasos de oro, ropa, armaduras, especias, caballos y mulas.

And they brought every one their gifts, vessels of gold, and raiment, and stacte, and spices, and horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

26 Salomón reunió carros y jinetes. Tenía mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil jinetes. Los mantuvo en las ciudades de los carros y con el rey en Jerusalén.

And Solomon had four thousand mares for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen: and he put them in the cities of his chariots, and with the king in Jerusalem: and he ruled over all the kings from the river to the land of the Philistines, and to the borders of Egypt.

27 El rey hizo que la plata fuera tan común como las piedras en Jerusalén, y los cedros tan comunes como los sicómoros que hay en la llanura.

And the king made gold and silver in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedars as the sycamores in the plain for multitude.

28 Los caballos que tenía Salomón fueron traídos de Egipto. Los mercaderes del rey los recibieron en tropel, cada uno de ellos conducido a un precio.

And the goings forth of Solomon's horsemen [was] also out of Egypt, and the king's merchants [were] of Thecue; and they received them out of Thecue at a price.

29 Un carro fue importado de Egipto por seiscientos siclos de plata, y un caballo por ciento cincuenta siclos; y así los exportaron a todos los reyes de los hititas y a los reyes de Siria.

And that which proceeded out of Egypt went up [thus, even] a chariot for a hundred [shekels] of silver, and a horse for fifty [shekels] of silver: and thus for all the kings of the Chettians, and the kings of Syria, they came out by sea.
