1 Crónicas 5

1 Los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel (pues él era el primogénito, pero por haber profanado el lecho de su padre, su primogenitura fue entregada a los hijos de José, hijo de Israel; y la genealogía no debe enumerarse según la primogenitura.

Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.

2 Porque Judá prevaleció sobre sus hermanos, y de él salió el príncipe; pero la primogenitura fue de José) —

For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph’s: )

3 los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron y Carmi.

The sons, I say, of Reuben the firstborn of Israel were, Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

4 Los hijos de Joel: Semaías su hijo, Gog su hijo, Simei su hijo,

The sons of Joel; Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,

5 Miqueas su hijo, Reaías su hijo, Baal su hijo,

Micah his son, Reaia his son, Baal his son,

6 y Beera su hijo, a quien Tilgath Pilneser, rey de Asiria, llevó cautivo. Era príncipe de los rubenitas.

Beerah his son, whom Tilgath–pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.

7 Sus hermanos por sus familias, cuando se enumeró la genealogía de sus generaciones: el jefe, Jeiel, y Zacarías,

And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned, were the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,

8 y Bela hijo de Azaz, hijo de Sema, hijo de Joel, que vivía en Aroer, hasta Nebo y Baal Meón;

And Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal–meon:

9 y vivía hacia el este hasta la entrada del desierto desde el río Éufrates, porque sus ganados se multiplicaban en la tierra de Galaad.

And eastward he inhabited unto the entering in of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

10 En los días de Saúl, hicieron la guerra a los hagritas, que cayeron por su mano, y vivieron en sus tiendas por toda la tierra al este de Galaad.

And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand: and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the east land of Gilead.

11 Los hijos de Gad vivieron junto a ellos en la tierra de Basán hasta Salecá:

And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salchah:

12 Joel el principal, Safam el segundo, Janai y Safat en Basán.

Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

13 Sus hermanos de las casas paternas: Miguel, Mesulam, Seba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia y Heber, siete.

And their brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.

14 Estos fueron los hijos de Abihail, hijo de Huri, hijo de Jaroa, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Micael, hijo de Jeshishai, hijo de Jahdo, hijo de Buz;

These are the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;

15 Ahi hijo de Abdiel, hijo de Guni, jefe de las casas de sus padres.

Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their fathers.

16 Vivían en Galaad, en Basán, y en sus ciudades, y en todas las tierras de pastoreo de Sarón hasta sus fronteras.

And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.

17 Todos estos fueron enumerados por genealogías en los días de Jotam, rey de Judá, y en los días de Jeroboam, rey de Israel.

All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18 Los hijos de Rubén, los gaditas y la media tribu de Manasés, de hombres valientes, capaces de llevar broquel y espada, de disparar con arco y hábiles en la guerra, eran cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta que podían salir a la guerra.

The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.

19 Hicieron la guerra a los hagritas, a Jetur, a Nafis y a Nodab.

And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and Nodab.

20 Fueron ayudados contra ellos, y los hagritas fueron entregados en su mano, y todos los que estaban con ellos; porque clamaron a Dios en la batalla, y él les respondió porque pusieron su confianza en él.

And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.

21 Les quitaron el ganado: de sus camellos cincuenta mil, de las ovejas doscientas cincuenta mil, de los asnos dos mil y de los hombres cien mil.

And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of donkeys two thousand, and of men an hundred thousand.

22 Porque muchos cayeron muertos, porque la guerra era de Dios. Vivieron en su lugar hasta el cautiverio.

For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity.

23 Los hijos de la media tribu de Manasés vivían en la tierra. Se multiplicaron desde Basán hasta Baal Hermón, Senir y el monte Hermón.

And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baal–hermon and Senir, and unto mount Hermon.

24 Estos eran los jefes de las casas de sus padres: Efer, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavías y Jahdiel: hombres valientes y famosos, jefes de sus casas paternas.

And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, and heads of the house of their fathers.

25 Se rebelaron contra el Dios de sus padres y se prostituyeron en pos de los dioses de los pueblos de la tierra que Dios había destruido antes que ellos.

And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.

26 Entonces el Dios de Israel despertó el espíritu de Pul, rey de Asiria, y el espíritu de Tilgat Pilneser, rey de Asiria, y se llevó a los rubenitas, a los gaditas y a la media tribu de Manasés, y los llevó a Halah, Habor, Hara y al río de Gozán, hasta el día de hoy.

And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath–pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.
