1 Crónicas 28

1 David reunió en Jerusalén a todos los príncipes de Israel, a los príncipes de las tribus, a los capitanes de las compañías que servían al rey por divisiones, a los capitanes de millares, a los capitanes de centenas y a los jefes de toda la hacienda y las posesiones del rey y de sus hijos, con los oficiales y los valientes, todos los valientes.

And so David called together all the leaders of Israel, the rulers of the tribes, and those in charge of the companies, who were ministering to the king, and also the tribunes and centurions, and those in charge of the substance and possessions of the king, and his sons, with the eunuchs and the powerful and those most experienced in the army, at Jerusalem.

2 Entonces el rey David se puso en pie y dijo: “¡Oídme, hermanos míos y pueblo mío! En cuanto a mí, estaba en mi corazón construir una casa de reposo para el arca de la alianza de Yahvé, y para el escabel de nuestro Dios; y había preparado la construcción.

And when the king had risen up and was standing, he said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I thought that I would build a house, in which the ark of the covenant of the Lord, the footstool of our God, might rest. And so I prepared everything for its building.

3 Pero Dios me dijo: ‘No construirás una casa a mi nombre, porque eres un hombre de guerra y has derramado sangre’.

But God said to me: ‘You shall not build a house to my name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood.’

4 Sin embargo, Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, me eligió de entre toda la casa de mi padre para ser rey de Israel para siempre. Porque ha elegido a Judá como príncipe; y en la casa de Judá, la casa de mi padre; y entre los hijos de mi padre se complació en mí para hacerme rey sobre todo Israel.

Now the Lord God of Israel chose me, out of the entire house of my father, so that I would be king over Israel forever. For from Judah he chose leaders; then from the house of Judah he chose the house of my father; and from the sons of my father, it pleased him to choose me as king over all of Israel.

5 De todos mis hijos (pues Yahvé me ha dado muchos hijos), ha elegido a mi hijo Salomón para que se siente en el trono del reino de Yahvé sobre Israel.

Then too, among my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons) he chose Solomon my son, so that he would sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord, over Israel.

6 Me dijo: “Salomón, tu hijo, edificará mi casa y mis atrios; porque lo he escogido para que sea mi hijo, y yo seré su padre.

And he said to me: ‘Solomon your son shall build my house and my courts. For I have chosen him to be to me as a son, and I will be to him as a father.

7 Estableceré su reino para siempre si sigue cumpliendo mis mandamientos y mis ordenanzas, como hoy.’

And I will make firm his kingdom, even unto eternity, if he will persevere in doing my precepts and judgments, as also today.’

8 Ahora, pues, a la vista de todo Israel, de la asamblea de Yahvé, y en audiencia de nuestro Dios, observa y busca todos los mandamientos de Yahvé, tu Dios, para que poseas esta buena tierra y la dejes en herencia a tus hijos después de ti para siempre.

Now therefore, before the entire assembly of Israel, in the hearing of our God, keep and seek all the commandments of the Lord our God, so that you may possess the good land, and may bequeath it to your sons after you, even forever.

9 Tú, Salomón, hijo mío, conoce al Dios de tu padre y sírvele con un corazón perfecto y una mente dispuesta; porque el Señor escudriña todos los corazones y entiende todas las imaginaciones de los pensamientos. Si lo buscas, lo encontrarás; pero si lo abandonas, te desechará para siempre.

And as for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind. For the Lord searches all hearts, and understands the thoughts of all minds. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will cast you aside for eternity.

10 Presta atención ahora, porque Yahvé te ha elegido para construir una casa para el santuario. Sé fuerte y hazlo”.

Now therefore, since the Lord has chosen you, so that you would build the house of the Sanctuary, be strengthened and accomplish it.”

11 Entonces David dio a Salomón su hijo los planos del pórtico del templo, de sus casas, de sus tesoros, de sus habitaciones superiores, de sus habitaciones interiores, del lugar del propiciatorio;

Then David gave to his son Solomon a description of the portico, and the temple, and the storerooms, and the upper floor, and the innermost rooms, and the house of propitiation,

12 y los planos de todo lo que tenía por el Espíritu, para los atrios de la casa de Yahvé, para todas las habitaciones circundantes, para los tesoros de la casa de Dios y para los tesoros de las cosas dedicadas

and indeed also of all the courts that he had planned, and the outer rooms on all sides, for the treasuries of the house of the Lord, and for the treasuries of the holy things,

13 también para las divisiones de los sacerdotes y de los levitas, para toda la obra del servicio de la casa de Yahvé, y para todos los utensilios del servicio de la casa de Yahvé—

and for the divisions of the priests and the Levites: concerning all the works of the house of the Lord and all the items in the ministry of the temple of the Lord.

14 de oro por peso para el oro de todos los utensilios de toda clase de servicio, para todos los utensilios de plata por peso, para todos los utensilios de toda clase de servicio;

There was gold by weight for every vessel of the ministry, and also silver by weight for the diversity of vessels and equipment.

15 por peso también para los candelabros de oro y para sus lámparas, de oro, por peso para cada candelabro y para sus lámparas; y para los candelabros de plata, por peso para cada candelabro y para sus lámparas, según el uso de cada candelabro;

Then too, he distributed gold for the lampstands and their lamps, according to the measure of each of the lampstands with their lamps. Similarly also, he distributed silver by weight for the silver lampstands with their lamps, according to the diversity of their measure.

16 y el oro por peso para las mesas de pan de muestra, para cada mesa; y la plata para las mesas de plata

Also, he gave gold for the tables of the presence, according to the diversity of the tables; similarly too, he gave silver for the other tables of silver.

17 y los tenedores, los cuencos y las copas, de oro puro; y para los cuencos de oro, por peso, para cada cuenco; y para los cuencos de plata, por peso, para cada cuenco;

Also, he distributed from the purest gold for the small hooks and the bowls and the censors, as well as for the little lions of gold, in accord with the precise measure of the weight, for lion after lion. Similarly too, for the lions of silver, he set aside a different weight of silver.

18 y para el altar del incienso, oro refinado por peso; y oro para los planos del carro, y los querubines que se extienden y cubren el arca del pacto de Yahvé.

Then, for the altar on which the incense was burned, he gave the purest gold. And from the same he made the likeness of the chariot of the Cherubim, with extended wings, which is veiling the ark of the covenant of the Lord.

19 “Todo esto”, dijo David, “se me ha hecho entender por escrito de la mano de Yahvé, todas las obras de este modelo.”

“All these things,” he said, “came to me written by the hand of the Lord, so that I would understand all the works of the pattern.”

20 David dijo a su hijo Salomón: “Sé fuerte y valiente, y hazlo. No temas ni te desanimes, porque el Dios de Yahvé, mi Dios, está contigo. Él no te fallará ni te abandonará, hasta que toda la obra para el servicio de la casa de Yahvé esté terminada.

David also said to his son Solomon: “Act manfully, and be strengthened, and carry it out. You should not be afraid, and you should not be dismayed. For the Lord my God will be with you, and he will not send you away, nor will he abandon you, until you have perfected the entire work of the ministry of the house of the Lord.

21 He aquí que hay divisiones de los sacerdotes y de los levitas para todo el servicio de la casa de Dios. Todo hombre dispuesto que tenga habilidad para cualquier clase de servicio estará con ustedes en toda clase de trabajo. También los capitanes y todo el pueblo estarán enteramente a tus órdenes”.

Behold, the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for every ministry of the house of the Lord, are standing before you. And they have been prepared, and so they know, both the leaders and the people, how to carry out all your precepts.”
