1 Crónicas 20
1 A la vuelta del año, en la época en que salen los reyes, Joab sacó el ejército y asoló el país de los hijos de Amón, y llegó a sitiar Rabá. Pero David se quedó en Jerusalén. Joab atacó a Rabá y la derrocó.
And it came to pass, at the time of the return of the year, at the time when kings go out [to battle], that Joab led forth the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and overthrew it.
2 David se quitó la corona de su rey de la cabeza, y encontró que pesaba un talento de oro, y que había piedras preciosas en ella. La puso en la cabeza de David, y sacó mucho botín de la ciudad.
And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David’s head: and he brought forth the spoil of the city, exceeding much.
3 Sacó a la gente que estaba en ella y la hizo cortar con sierras, con picos de hierro y con hachas. Así hizo David con todas las ciudades de los hijos de Amón. Luego David y todo el pueblo regresaron a Jerusalén.
And he brought forth the people that were therein, and cut [them] with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. And thus did David unto all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
4 Después de esto, surgió la guerra en Gezer con los filisteos. Entonces Sibecai el husatita mató a Sippai, de los hijos del gigante, y fueron sometidos.
And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines: then Sibbecai the Hushathite slew Sippai, of the sons of the giant; and they were subdued.
5 Nuevamente hubo guerra con los filisteos, y Elhanán, hijo de Jair, mató a Lahmi, hermano de Goliat, el giteo, cuyo asta de lanza era como una viga de tejedor.
And there was again war with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.
6 Volvió a haber guerra en Gat, donde había un hombre de gran estatura que tenía veinticuatro dedos en las manos y en los pies, seis en cada mano y seis en cada pie.
And there was again war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six [on each hand], and six [on each foot]; and he also was born unto the giant.
7 Cuando desafió a Israel, lo mató Jonatán, hijo de Simea, hermano de David.
And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David’s brother slew him.
8 Estos le nacieron al gigante en Gat; y cayeron por mano de David y por mano de sus siervos.
These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
