1 Crónicas 13
1 David consultó con los capitanes de millares y de centenas, incluso con cada jefe.
David consulted with the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, with every leader.
2 David dijo a toda la asamblea de Israel: “Si les parece bien, y si es de Yahvé nuestro Dios, mandemos a decir a nuestros hermanos que han quedado en toda la tierra de Israel, con los sacerdotes y levitas que están en sus ciudades que tienen tierras de pastoreo, que se reúnan con nosotros.
David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if this comes from Yahweh our God, let us send messengers everywhere to our brothers who remain in all the regions of Israel, and to the priests and Levites who are in their cities. Let them be told to join us.
3 Además, traigamos de nuevo el arca de nuestro Dios, pues no la buscamos en los días de Saúl.”
Let us bring the ark of our God back to ourselves, for we did not seek his will in the days of Saul's reign.”
4 Toda la asamblea dijo que lo harían, porque la cosa era justa a los ojos de todo el pueblo.
The whole assembly agreed to do these things, because they seemed right in the eyes of all the people.
5 Entonces David reunió a todo Israel, desde el río Shihor de Egipto hasta la entrada de Hamat, para traer el arca de Dios desde Quiriat Jearim.
So David assembled all Israel together, from the Shihor River in Egypt to Lebo Hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim.
6 David subió con todo Israel a Baalá, es decir, a Quiriat Jearim, que pertenecía a Judá, para hacer subir desde allí el arca de Dios que está sentada encima de los querubines, que se llama por el Nombre.
David and all Israel went up to Baalah, that is, Kiriath Jearim, which belongs to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by Yahweh's name, Yahweh, who sits enthroned over the cherubim.
7 Llevaron el arca de Dios en un carro nuevo, y la sacaron de la casa de Abinadab; Uzza y Ahio conducían el carro.
So they set the ark of God on a new cart. They brought it out of Abinadab's house. Uzzah and Ahio were guiding the cart.
8 David y todo Israel tocaron ante Dios con toda su fuerza, con cantos, con arpas, con instrumentos de cuerda, con panderetas, con címbalos y con trompetas.
David and all Israel were celebrating before God with all their might. They were singing with stringed instruments, tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.
9 Cuando llegaron a la era de Chidón, Uza extendió su mano para sostener el arca, pues los bueyes tropezaron.
When they came to the threshing floor of Kidon, Uzzah reached out with his hand to grab the ark, because the oxen stumbled.
10 La ira de Yahvé se encendió contra Uza, y lo hirió porque había puesto su mano sobre el arca; y allí murió ante Dios.
Then the anger of Yahweh burned against Uzzah, and Yahweh killed him because Uzzah had reached out with his hand to the ark. He died there before God.
11 David se disgustó porque Yahvé se había ensañado con Uza. Llamó a ese lugar Fares Uzza, hasta el día de hoy.
David was angry because Yahweh had attacked Uzzah. That place is called Perez Uzzah to this day.
12 Ese día David tuvo miedo de Dios, diciendo: “¿Cómo voy a llevar el arca de Dios a mi casa?”
David was afraid of God that day. He said, “How can I bring the ark of God home to me?”
13 Así que David no trasladó el arca con él a la ciudad de David, sino que la llevó a un lado, a la casa de Obed-Edom el gitano.
So David did not move the ark to the city of David, but put it aside in the house of Obed Edom the Gittite.
14 El arca de Dios permaneció con la familia de Obed-Edom en su casa durante tres meses; y el Señor bendijo la casa de Obed-Edom y todo lo que tenía.
The ark of God remained in Obed Edom's household in his house for three months. So Yahweh blessed his house and all that he possessed.
