To the Chief Musician. For "the Lilies of Testimony." Asaph’s. A Melody. O Shepherd of Israel, give ear, Thou who leddest forth Joseph like a rock, Thou who art throned on the cherubim, appear!
2 en la presencia de Efraín, Benjamín, y Manasés. ¡Reúne todo tu poder y ven a salvarnos!
Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up thy strength, And come! to our salvation.
3 Por favor, Dios, ¡Restáuranos! Permite que tu rostro resplandezca sobre nosotros para que podamos ser salvos.
O God, bring us back, And light up thy face, That we may be saved.
4 ¡Oh, Señor, Todopoderoso! ¿Por cuánto tiempo más estarás airado con las oraciones de tu pueblo?
O Yahweh, God of hosts! How long hast thou been wroth with the prayer of thy people?
5 Los alimentaste con el pan de las lágrimas, y les diste un tazón lleno de estas para que bebieran.
Thou hast fed them with the food of tears, And hast caused them to drink the water of weeping in threefold abundance.
6 Nos conviertes en víctimas por las que nuestros vecinos peleen; de las que nuestros enemigos se burlen.
Thou dost make us an object of contention to our neighbours, And, our foes, find mockery for themselves.
7 Dios todopoderoso, ¡Restáuranos! ¡Permite que tu rostro se resplandezca sobre nosotros para que podamos ser salvos!
O God of hosts, bring us back, And light up thy face, That we may be saved.
8 Nos sacaste de Egipto como una vid, expulsaste a las naciones paganas y sembraste la vid en su lugar.
A vine out of Egypt, thou didst remove, Thou didst cast out nations, and plant it;
9 Preparaste el suelo. Echo raíz y llenó la tierra
Thou didst make a clear space before it, So it rooted well its roots, and filled up the land;
10 Las montañas fueron cubiertas por su sombra; sus ramas cubrieron los grandes cedros.
Covered were the mountains with its shade, And, with its boughs, the mighty cedars.
11 Envió sus ramas hacia el oeste, hasta el mar Mediterráneo y sus brotes hacia el este, hasta el río Éufrates.
It thrust forth its branches as far as the sea, —And, unto the River, its shoots.
12 ¿Por qué has roto los muros que lo protegían para que cualquiera que pase pueda robar su fruto?
Wherefore hast thou broken down its fences, So that all who pass along the way, pluck its fruit?
13 Los cerdos salvajes del bosque se los comen, animales salvajes se alimentan de él.
The boar out of the forest, browseth upon it, And, the wild beast of the field, pastureth thereon.
14 Dios todo poderoso, por favor, ¡Vuelve a nosotros! ¡Observa hacia abajo desde los cielos y mira lo que nos está pasando a nosotros! Ven y cuida de esta vid
O God of hosts, return, we pray thee, —Look down out of the heavens, and see, And inspect this vine:
15 que tú mismo plantaste, este hijo que tú criaste por tus propios méritos.
Yea the stock which thy right hand planted, Even upon the son thou didst secure for thyself.
16 Nosotros, tu vid, hemos sido talados y quemados. Ojalá todos los que hicieron esto mueran cuando los mires.
To be burned with fire, it is cut down, —At the rebuke of thy countenance, they will perish.
17 Protege al hombre que permanece a tu lado; fortalece al hijo que has escogido.
Let thy hand be, Upon the Man of thy right hand, Upon the Son of Man thou didst secure for thyself;
18 Entonces no nos apartaremos de ti. Devuélvenos la vida para que podamos invocar tu nombre.
So will we not draw back from thee, Thou wilt bring us to life, And, on thy Name, will we call.
19 ¡Oh, Señor! Dios todopoderoso, ¡Restáuranos! ¡Permite que tu rostro resplandezca sobre nosotros para que podamos ser salvos!
O Yahweh, God of hosts! bring us back, Light up thy face, That we may be saved.
