Salmos 72
1 Un de Salomón. Dios, por favor, dale al rey sentido de justicia y la capacidad para hacer lo recto con el hijo del rey.
Solomon’s. O God! thy justice, give, unto the king, And thy righteousness, unto the son of a king;
2 Que juzgue a tu pueblo con rectitud y que sea justo con los pobres.
May he judge, Thy people with righteousness; And thine oppressed ones with justice;
3 Que los montes traigan paz al pueblo, y las colinas bondad.
May the mountains bring peace to the people, And the hills [be laden] with righteousness;
4 Que defienda al pobre y salve a sus hijos. Que aplaste a quienes los oprimen.
May he, Vindicate the oppressed of the people, Bring deliverance to the children of the needy, and, Crush the oppressor.
5 Que ellos lo respeten tanto como brille el sol y la luna en los cielos, por todas las generaciones.
Let men revere thee, With the sun, And in presence of the moon, Unto the remotest generation.
6 Que su reino sea como la lluvia que cae sobre la hierba nueva, como el rocío que riega la tierra.
Let him come down, Like rain on fields to be mown, Like myriad drops on land to be reaped.
7 Que los que viven en justicia prosperen bajo su gobierno, y que haya prosperidad hasta que la luna no salga más.
May righteousness, in his days, blossom forth, And abundance of peace, till there be no moon.
8 Que gobierne de un mar a otro, de un rio a otro y en todos los extremos de la tierra.
So let him have dominion, From sea to sea, And from the River ["Euphrates"] unto the ends of the earth;
9 Las tribus que habitan en el desierto se arrodillarán ante él, y sus enemigos comerán del polvo de la tierra.
Before him, let the men of the desert kneel, But, as for his foes, the dust, let them lick;
10 Los reyes de Tarsis y las islas le traerán tributos; y los reyes de Saba y Seba vendrán con regalos.
The kings of Tarshish and of the Coastlands, A gift, let them render, The kings of Sheba and Seba, A present, let them bring;
11 Cada rey se arrodillará ante él; cada nación le servirá.
Yea let all kings, bow down unto him, Let, all nations, serve him;
12 Él ayudará al pobre cuando clame a él, y ayudará a los que sufren y no tienen quien los ayude.
Because he Rescueth, The needy from the rich, The oppressed, who hath no helper;
13 Él tiene compasión de los pobres y necesitados. ¡Él es quien salva sus vidas!
He Pitieth the weak and the needy, And, the lives of the needy, he Saveth:
14 Él los rescata de la violencia y la opresión, porque sus vidas son de gran valor para él.
From extortion, and, violence, he Redeemeth their life, And precious is their blood in his sight.
15 ¡Que viva para siempre! Que Saba le regale todo su oro. Que el pueblo siempre ore por él y lo bendiga todo el día.
Let him live, then! And be there given unto him of the gold of Sheba, —Let prayer also be offered for him continually, All the day, let him be blessed.
16 Que haya abundancia de grano en la tierra, incluso que crezca en lo alto de las montañas. Que el fruto de los árboles cuelgue como en los árboles del Líbano. Que la gente de la ciudad prospere como la hierba en el campo.
May there be an abundance of corn in the earth, in the top of the mountains, —Let the fruit thereof, wave like Lebanon, And they of the city bloom like the fresh shoots of the earth.
17 Que su renombre dure para siempre, tanto como el sol. Que todas las naciones Sean bendecidas a través de él, y que todas lo alaben.
May his Name be age-abiding, In the presence of the sun, let his Name flourish, —And may all the families of the ground bless themselves in him, All nations, pronounce him happy!
18 ¡Alaben al Señor, Dios de Israel, porque es el único que puede hacer tales maravillas!
Blessed be Yahweh God, the God of Israel, —Who doeth wondrous things by himself alone;
19 ¡Alaben su maravilloso nombre para siempre! ¡Que todo el mundo sea lleno de su gloria! ¡Amén y amén!
And blessed be his glorious Name, unto times age-abiding, —And filled with his glory be all the earth, Amen and Amen!
