Salmos 71

1 Señor, tú eres el que me mantiene a salvo. Por favor, no me defraudes.

In thee, O LORD! do I put my trust! Let me never be put to shame!

2 Sálvame, rescátame, porque tú siempre haces lo recto.

In thy goodness deliver and rescue me; Incline thine ear to me, and save me!

3 Por favor, escúchame y sálvame. Sé mi roca protectora a la que siempre pueda ir. Tu has dado la orden para salvarme, porque tú eres mi roca y mi fortaleza.

Be thou the rock of my abode, where I may continually resort! Thou hast granted me deliverance; For thou art my rock and my fortress!

4 Dios mío, libérame del poder de los malvados; de las garras de los que son malos y despiadados.

Save me, O my God! from the hand of the wicked, -From the hand of the unjust and cruel!

5 Porque tú, Señor y Dios, eres mi esperanza. Tú eres en quien he confiado desde que era joven.

For thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah! Thou hast been my trust from my youth!

6 Desde que nací he dependido de ti y me has cuidado desde que estaba en el vientre de mi madre. ¡Por eso siempre te alabo!

Upon thee have I leaned from my birth; From my earliest breath thou hast been my support; My song hath been continually of thee!

7 Mi vida ha sido un milagro ante muchos; porque tú has sido mi protector poderoso.

I am a wonder to many, But thou art my strong refuge.

8 ¡Todo el día te alabo y hablo de tus maravillas!

Let my mouth be filled with thy praise; Yea, all the day long, with thy glory.

9 No me rechaces ahora que estoy envejeciendo. Cuando mi fuerza se acabe, por favor, no me abandones.

Cast me not off in mine old age; Forsake me not, When my strength faileth!

10 Porque mis enemigos hablan mal de mi. Son los mismos que conspiran para matarme.

For my enemies speak against me, And they who lay wait for my life consult together:

11 Ellos dicen: “Dios lo ha desechado. Vayamos a buscarlo porque no tiene a nadie que lo salve”.

“God,” say they, “hath forsaken him; Pursue and seize him; for he hath none to deliver him!”

12 Dios, por favor, no te alejes de mi. ¡Dios mío, apresúrate a ayudarme!

O God! be not far from me! Come speedily to mine aid, O my God!

13 ¡Vence a mis acusadores y deshazte de ellos! Que los que quieren acarrearme problemas queden cubiertos de vergüenza y desgracia.

Let them perish with shame who are my enemies; Let them be covered with contempt and dishonor who seek my hurt!

14 En cuanto a mi, seguiré poniendo mi esperanza en ti, y te alabaré cada vez más.

But I will hope continually; I shall yet praise thee more and more.

15 Contaré cada día sobre tu bondad y tu salvación, aun cuando es incomprensible para mi.

My mouth shall speak of thy goodness, —Of thy sure protection all the day long; For thy mercies are more than I can number.

16 Vendré y explicaré lo que el Señor ha hecho. Le recordaré a las personas que solo tú actúas con justicia.

I will celebrate thy mighty deeds, O Lord Jehovah! I will make mention of thy goodness, of thine only!

17 Dios, tu me has enseñado desde que era joven y aún le cuento a otros sobre las maravillas que haces.

O God! thou hast taught me from my youth, And thus far have I declared thy wondrous deeds;

18 Aunque estoy viejo y lleno de cabellos blancos, por favor, no me abandones. Déjame contarle a la nueva generación sobre tu poder. Déjame decirle a todos los que vienen sobre las grandes cosas que tú haces.

And now, when I am old and gray-headed, O God! forsake me not, Until I make known thine arm to the next generation, -Thy mighty power to all that are to come!

19 ¡Dios, tu fidelidad y verdadero carácter son más altos que los cielos! Tu has hecho cosas maravillosas, Dios. No hay nadie como tú.

For thy goodness, O God! reacheth to the heavens; Wonderful things doest thou! O God! who is like unto thee?

20 Me hiciste pasar por muchas tribulaciones y miseria, pero tú me traerás de regreso a la vida. Y me levantarás desde las profundidades de la tierra.

Thou hast suffered us to see great and grievous troubles; Thou wilt again give us life, And wilt bring us back from the depths of the earth!

21 Me otorgarás gran prestigio, y me harás feliz nuevamente.

Thou wilt increase my greatness; Thou wilt again comfort me!

22 Entonces te alabaré con mi arpa por tu fidelidad, mi Dios. Cantaré alabanzas a ti con la lira, Dios Santo de Israel.

Then will I praise thee with the psaltery; Even thy faithfulness, O my God! To thee will I sing with the harp, O Holy One of Israel!

23 Gritaré de alegría mientras canto alabanzas a ti, porque tu me has redimido.

My lips shall rejoice, when I sing to thee; And my soul, which thou hast redeemed from death;

24 Todo el día contaré de las cosas buenas que has hecho, porque los que han tratado de causarme mal han caído en desgracia y humillación.

My tongue also shall continually speak of thy righteousness: For all who seek my hurt are brought to shame and confounded.
