Salmos 59
1 Para el director del coro. Según la melodía de “No destruir”. Un salmo (mictam) de David, sobre la vez que Saúl envió soldados a la casa de David con órdenes de matarlo. ¡Rescátame, Dios, de mis enemigos! Protégeme de quienes me están atacando!
To the Chief Musician. "Do not Destroy." A precious Psalm of David. When Saul sent, and they watched the house, to kill him. Rescue me from my foes, O my God, From them who lift themselves up against me, wilt thou set me on high:
2 ¡Rescátame de esta gente mala! ¡Sálvame de estos asesinos!
Rescue me, from the workers of iniquity, And, from the men of bloodshed, save me.
3 ¡Mira cómo están acostados esperando matarme! Hombres poderosos están reunidos en mi contra, Señor, incluso aunque no he pecado ni he hecho nada malo.
For lo! they have lain in wait for my life, Mighty ones stir up strife against me, Without transgression of mine, and without sin of mine, O Yahweh;
4 Incluso aunque no soy culpable corren para prepararse para atacarme. Por favor levántate, ven y ayúdame, y ve lo que está pasando.
For no iniquity, do they run that they may take their stand, Rouse thyself to meet me, and see.
5 Tú eres Dios, el Señor todopoderoso, Dios de Israel. Levántate, y castiga a todas las naciones. No tengas misericordia de esos traidores. (Selah)
Thou, therefore, O Yahweh, God of hosts, God of Israel, Awake, to visit all the nations, Do not show favour to any iniquitous traitors. (Selah)
6 En el ocaso vuelven, gruñendo como perros mientras merodean por la ciudad.
They return at evening, They grow like a dog, And go round the city.
7 ¡Escucha las necedades que salen de sus bocas! Sus palabras son cortantes como espadas. Se dicen a sí mismos: “¿Quién puede oirnos?”
Lo! they belch forth with their mouth, Swords, are in their lips, For [say they], Who doth hear?
8 Pero tú, Señor, te ríes de ellos; viertes desprecio sobre las naciones.
Thou, therefore, O Yahweh, wilt laugh at them, Thou wilt mock at all nations.
9 ¡Tú eres mi fuerza! Te miraré, Dios, porque eres el único que me protege.
O my Strength, unto thee, will I make melody, For, God, is my high tower.
10 En su gran amor, Dios vendrá y me salvará. Me mostrará cómo mis enemigos son derrotados.
My God of lovingkindness, will come to meet me, God, will let me look on mine adversaries.
11 No los mates de inmediato, de lo contrario mi pueblo olvidará rápidamente lo que has hecho. Por tu poder haz que se tambaleen por ahí y luego caigan, Señor, nuestra protección.
Do not slay them, lest my people forget, Cause them to wander by thy strength, and prostrate them, [Thou] our shield, O Lord!
12 Permite que sean capturados por el mal que han hecho y las palabras que con orgullo dicen, ¡Derríbalos por sus maldiciones y mentiras!
The sin of their mouth, The word of their lips, Let them then be captured in their pride, Both for the oath and for the deception they record.
13 ¡Destrúyelos con tu ira! ¡Destrúyelos completamente! ¡Entonces todos sabrán que Dios reina en Israel!
Bring to a full end in wrath, Bring to a full end, that they be no more, —That men may know that, God, is ruling in Jacob, Unto the ends of the earth. (Selah)
14 Al anochecer vendrán, gruñendo como perros mientras merodeen la ciudad.
Let them return, then, at evening, Let them growl like a dog, And go round the city.
15 Ellos vagan de aquí para allá, buscando algo que comer, y aúllan cuando no están satisfechos.
They, may prowl about for food, —And, if they are not satisfied, then let them whine!
16 Pero yo cantaré de tu fuerza; en la mañana cantaré de alegría por tu gran amor. Porque tú has sido mi protección; mi lugar seguro en tiempos de problemas.
But, I, will sing thy power, And will shout aloud, in the morning, thy lovingkindness, —For thou has become a refuge for me, And a place to flee to in the day of my distress.
17 Tú eres mi fuerza, cantaré alabanzas a ti, ¡Porque tú eres el único que me protege, el Dios que me muestra su gran amor!
O my Strength, unto thee, will I make melody, For, God, is my high tower, my God of lovingkindness.
