Salmos 55
1 Para el director del coro. Con instrumentos de cuerda. Un salmo (masquil) de David. ¡Escucha, oh Dios, mi oración; no ignores mi clamor de ayuda!
For the music director. With stringed instruments. A psalm (maskil) of David. God, please hear my prayer; don't ignore my cry for help!
2 Por favor escúchame, y dame una respuesta. ¡Estoy atribulado por todos mis problemas!
Please listen, and give me an answer. I'm terribly troubled by my problems! I'm frantic!
3 Porque mis enemigos me gritan; los malvados me intimidan. Ellos hacen llover sufrimientos sobre mí, con furia me asaltan en su odio.
For my enemies are screaming at me; the wicked are intimidating me. They rain down suffering on me, angrily assaulting me in their hatred.
4 ¡Mi corazón late en agonía! Estoy aterrorizado, ¡Siento que voy a morir!
My heart thumps in agony! Terrified, I feel I'm about to die!
5 Estoy en pánico, temblando con miedo; sentimientos de horror me inundan.
I'm in a panic, trembling with fear; feelings of horror wash over me.
6 Me digo a mí mismo: “¡Si tan solo Dios me diera alas como una paloma para que pudiera volar lejos y estar en paz!
I tell myself, If only God would give me wings like a dove so I could fly away and be at peace!
7 Volaría muy lejos para escapar, y me quedaría en el desierto. (Selah)
I would fly far away to escape, and stay in the wilderness. (Selah)
8 Correría a un lugar para esconderme, lejos del viento, a salvo de la tormenta furiosa”.
I would hurry to a place to hide, out of the wind, safe from the raging storm.
9 ¡Confúndelos, Señor! cambia lo que están diciendo, porque veo violencia y conflictos en la ciudad.
Confuse them, Lord! Muddle what they're saying, for I see violence and conflict in the city.
10 Ellos patrullan los muros de la ciudad de día y de noche, pero los problemas y la maldad están adentro.
They patrol the city walls day and night, and wickedness and trouble are within the city.
11 Los que causan la destrucción están dentro de la ciudad; los fraudes y los engaños merodean en las calles.
The ones causing destruction are inside the city; frauds and cheats are always on the streets.
12 El problema es que no es un enemigo el que se burla de mí. Eso hasta podría soportarlo. Pero quien me insulta no es alguien que me odia. Si no, podría evitarlos.
The problem is that it's not an enemy who mocks me—I could stand that. It's not someone who hates me who insults me—I could avoid them.
13 No, eres tú, un hombre igual a mí, ¡Mi mejor amigo, a quien conozco tan bien!
No, it's you, a man just like me, my best friend who I know so well!
14 Nuestra amistad era muy cercana. Solíamos tener grandes pláticas juntos mientras caminábamos con los demás hacia la casa del Señor.
Our friendship was so close. We used to have great talks together as we walked with everyone to the house of God.
15 Que la muerte venga rápido sobre ellos; que bajen a la tumba con vida, porque los malvados encuentran ahí su hogar. (Sheol h7585)
May death come quickly to them; may they go down into the grave alive, because evil finds its home in them. (Sheol h7585)
16 Mientras tanto yo, clamaré al Señor, y él me salvará.
As for me, I cry out to God, and the Lord will save me.
17 Lloré y gemí día, tarde y noche, y él me escuchó.
I weep and groan morning, noon, and night, and he listens to me.
18 Me rescató, manteniéndome a salvo de mis atacantes, porque hay muchos en mi contra.
He rescues me, keeping me safe and sound from my attackers, because there are so many against me.
19 Dios, quien ha gobernado desde el principio me oirá y les responderá. (Selah) Porque ellos se rehúsan a cambiar y no respetan a Dios.
God who has ruled from the beginning will hear me and answer them. (Selah) For they refuse to change and don't respect God.
20 Mientras que mi mejor amigo, atacó a sus amigos que no tenían ninguna pelea con él, rompió las promesas que les había hecho.
As for my best friend, he attacked his friends who had no quarrel with him; he broke the promises he had made to them.
21 Lo que dice es tan suave como la mantequilla, pero por dentro él solo planea guerra; sus palabras son tan calmantes como el aceite, pero cortan como espadas afiladas.
What he says is as smooth as butter, but inside he plans war; his words are as soothing as oil, but they cut like sharp swords.
22 Arroja tus cargas sobre el Señor y él te cuidará. Él no permitirá que aquellos que viven con rectitud caigan.
Throw your burdens onto the Lord and he will take care of you. He will never allow those who live right to fall.
23 Pero tú, Dios, derribarás a los asesinos y a los mentirosos, arrojándolos al pozo de la destrucción antes de que hayan vivido la mitad de sus vidas. Y yo, confiaré en ti.
But you, God, will bring down murderers and liars, throwing them into the pit of destruction before they have even lived half their lives. As for me, I will trust in you.
