Salmos 52

1 Para el director del coro. Un salmo (masquil) de David, cuando Doeg el Edomita fue a Saúl y le dijo “David se ha ido a la casa de Ahimelec”. Grandes hombres, ¿Por qué alardean de todas las cosas malas que han hecho? El gran amor de Dios permanece todo el día.

For the Leader. Maschil of David; when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him: 'David is come to the house of Ahimelech.' Why boastest thou thyself of evil, O mighty man? The mercy of God endureth continually.

2 Hacen planes para ver a la gente sufrir; sus palabras cortan como un rastrillo afilado, ¡Mentirosos!

Thy tongue deviseth destruction; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

3 Aman el mal más que al bien, y aman decir mentiras más que la verdad. (Selah)

Thou lovest evil more than good; falsehood rather than speaking righteousness. (Selah)

4 Aman las calumnias que destruyen a los demás, ¡Mentirosos!

Thou lovest all devouring words, the deceitful tongue.

5 Pero Dios los derribará con tanta fuerza que nunca más se podrán levantar. Dios los agarrará y los sacará de su tienda. Los expulsará de la tierra de los vivos. (Selah)

God will likewise break thee for ever, He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, and root thee out of the land of the living. (Selah)

6 Aquellos que hacen el bien verán todo esto. Se asombrarán y se reirán, diciendo:

The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

7 “¡Miren lo que les pasa a los que no acuden a Dios en busca de ayuda, sino que confían en su gran riqueza y fortaleza, que solo les traerá destrucción!”

'Lo, this is the man that made not God his stronghold; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.'

8 Pero yo soy como un árbol de olivo que crece fuertemente en la casa de Dios. Confiaré en su amor inagotable por siempre y para siempre.

But as for me, I am like a leafy olive-tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

9 Te alabaré por siempre, ¡Oh, Dios! Por todo lo que has hecho. En la presencia de tu pueblo, depositaré mi confianza en ti, porque tú eres bueno.

I will give Thee thanks for ever, because Thou hast done it; and I will wait for Thy name, for it is good, in the presence of Thy saints.
