Salmos 17
1 Una oración de David. ¡Señor, por favor escucha mi clamor de justicia! ¡Por favor presta atención a mi llamado de auxilio! ¡Escucha la oración de un hombre honesto!
A Prayer of David. Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry; give ear unto my prayer from lips without deceit.
2 Vindícame delante de ti, porque tú ves lo que es correcto.
Let my judgment come forth from Thy presence; let Thine eyes behold equity.
3 Has conocido mis pensamientos, me has visitado por la noche, me has examinado, y no has encontrado nada malo. Me prometí a mí mismo que no diría nada indebido.
Thou hast tried my heart, Thou hast visited it in the night; Thou hast tested me, and Thou findest not that I had a thought which should not pass my mouth.
4 Con respecto a las acciones de otros: he hecho lo que me dijiste, y he evitado lo que hacen las personas violentas.
As for the doings of men, by the word of Thy lips I have kept me from the ways of the violent.
5 No me he extraviado de tu camino; mis pies no han tropezado.
My steps have held fast to Thy paths, my feet have not slipped.
6 Dios, te hablo a ti porque yo sé que me responderás. Por favor escucha atentamente lo que tengo que decir.
As for me, I call upon Thee, for Thou wilt answer me, O God; incline Thine ear unto me, hear my speech.
7 Muéstrame cuán maravilloso es realmente tu amor fiel ¡Salvador de todos los que acuden a ti, pidiendo protección contra sus enemigos!
Make passing great Thy mercies, O Thou that savest by Thy right hand from assailants them that take refuge in Thee.
8 Mantenme a salvo, como a alguien que amas; y escóndeme bajo tus alas.
Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me in the shadow of Thy wings,
9 Protégeme de los ataques de los malvados que quieren destruirme, de los enemigos que me rodean e intentan matarme.
From the wicked that oppress, my deadly enemies, that compass me about.
10 Ellos no tienen compasión, y solo saben hablar con arrogancia.
Their gross heart they have shut tight, with their mouth they speak proudly.
11 Ellos me persiguen y me rodean, buscando la oportunidad para golpearme y tirarme al suelo.
At our every step they have now encompassed us; they set their eyes to cast us down to the earth.
12 Son como leones que quieren desgarrar sus presas; como feroces leones agazapados en una emboscada.
He is like a lion that is eager to tear in pieces, and like a young lion lurking in secret places.
13 Señor, ¡levántate y confróntalos! ¡Fuérzalos a volver atrás! ¡Con tu espada, defiéndeme de los malvados!
Arise, O LORD, confront him, cast him down; deliver my soul from the wicked, by Thy sword;
14 Señor, por tu poder, sálvame de personas cuyos únicos pensamientos son de este mundo. Que se llenen con lo que tienes reservado para ellos, sus hijos también, ¡con sobras para sus nietos!
From men, by Thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life, and whose belly Thou fillest with Thy treasure; who have children in plenty, and leave their abundance to their babes.
15 En cuanto a mí, veré tu rostro en toda su gloria. Cuando despierte, estaré grandemente complacido de verte cara a cara.
As for me, I shall behold Thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with Thy likeness.
