Salmos 124

1 Un cántico para los peregrinos que van a Jerusalén. Un salmo de David. Si el Señor no hubiera estado para nosotros, ¿Qué habría pasado? Todo Israel diga:

A Song of Degrees. If it had not been that the Lord was among us, let Israel now say;

2 Si el Señor no hubiera estado para nosotros, ¿Que hubiera pasado cuando los pueblos nos atacaron?

if it had not been that the Lord was among us, when men rose up against us;

3 Nos hubieran tragado vivos al encenderse su furor contra nosotros.

verily they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us:

4 Se hubieran precipitado como una inundación; nos habrían arrastrado por completo como una corriente torrencial.

verily the water would have drowned us, our soul would have gone under the torrent.

5 Habrían pasado por encima de nosotros con fuerza como aguas furiosas, ahogándonos.

Yes, our soul would have gone under the overwhelming water.

6 Alaben al Señor, quién no nos entregó a ellos como presas para ser destruidos por sus dientes.

Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us for a prey to their teeth.

7 Escapamos de ellos como pájaros huyendo del cazador. ¡La trampa se rompió y volamos lejos!

Our soul has been delivered as a sparrow from the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are delivered.

8 Nuestra ayuda viene del Señor, quien hizo los cielos y la tierra.

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
