Salmos 107
1 ¡Agradezcan al Señor, porque él es bueno! ¡Su misericordioso amor perdura para siempre!
'Give ye thanks to Jehovah, For good, for to the age [is] His kindness:'
2 Que todos a los que salvó salgan a gritarle al mundo; aquellos a quienes rescató del poder del enemigo.
Let the redeemed of Jehovah say, Whom He redeemed from the hand of an adversary.
3 Los ha reunido desde tierras lejanas, desde el este y el oeste, y del norte y el sur.
And from the lands hath gathered them, From east and from west, From north, and from the sea.
4 Ellos vagaron por el árido desierto, sin encontrar una sola ciudad en la que vivir.
They wandered in a wilderness, in a desert by the way, A city of habitation they have not found.
5 Hambrientos y sedientos, se desanimaron.
Hungry — yea — thirsty, Their soul in them becometh feeble,
6 Entonces clamaron al Señor para que los ayudara, y los salvó de su sufrimiento.
And they cry unto Jehovah in their adversity, From their distress He delivereth them,
7 Los guió por un camino directo a la ciudad donde podrían vivir.
And causeth them to tread in a right way, To go unto a city of habitation.
8 Alaben al Señor por su gran amor, y por todas las cosas hermosas que hace por la gente.
They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men.
9 Porque brinda agua al sediento, y alimenta a los hambrientos.
For He hath satisfied a longing soul, And a hungry soul hath filled [with] goodness.
10 Algunos se sientan en completas tinieblas, prisioneros de la miseria y atados con cadenas de hierro,
Inhabitants of dark places and death-shade, Prisoners of affliction and of iron,
11 Porque se han revelado contra lo que Dios ha dicho; han rechazado la dirección del Altísimo.
Because they changed the saying of God, And the counsel of the Most High despised.
12 Entonces Dios humillará su orgullo con los problemas de la vida; tropezarán y no habrá nadie cerca que los ayude a no caer.
And He humbleth with labour their heart, They have been feeble, and there is no helper.
13 Y llamarán al Señor en medio de sus problemas, y los salvará de su sufrimiento.
And they cry unto Jehovah in their adversity, From their distresses He saveth them.
14 Los traerá de vuelta desde las tinieblas, romperá en pedazos sus cadenas.
He bringeth them out from the dark place, And death-shade, And their bands He draweth away.
15 Alaben al Señor por su gran amor, y por todas las cosas hermosas que hace por la gente.
They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men.
16 Porque Él rompe las puertas de bronce, y corta las barras de hierro.
For He hath broken doors of brass, And bars of iron He hath cut.
17 Ellos fueron necios al rebelarse; y sufrieron por sus pecados.
Fools, by means of their transgression, And by their iniquities, afflict themselves.
18 No quisieron comer; y estuvieron a las puertas de la muerte.
All food doth their soul abominate, And they come nigh unto the gates of death,
19 Entonces llamaron al Señor para que los ayudara, y Él los salvó de su sufrimiento.
And cry unto Jehovah in their adversity, From their distresses He saveth them,
20 Dio la orden y fueron sanados; los salvó de la tumba.
He sendeth His word and healeth them, And delivereth from their destructions.
21 Alaben al Señor por su gran amor, y por todas las cosas hermosas que hace por la gente.
They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men,
22 Preséntense ante él con ofrendas de gratitud y canten de alegría sobre lo que ha hecho.
And they sacrifice sacrifices of thanksgiving, And recount His works with singing.
23 Los que zarpan en barcos, y cruzan océanos para ganar la vida,
Those going down [to] the sea in ships, Doing business in many waters,
24 ellos han visto el increíble poder de Dios en marcha, y las maravillas que hizo en aguas profundas.
They have seen the works of Jehovah, And His wonders in the deep.
25 Él solo tiene que hablar para causar vientos tormentosos y levantar grandes olas,
And He saith, and appointeth a tempest, And it lifteth up its billows,
26 Lanzando a los barcos al aire y luego arrastrándolos una vez más al suelo. Los navegantes estaban tan aterrorizados que su coraje se desvaneció.
They go up [to] the heavens, they go down [to] the depths, Their soul in evil is melted.
27 Se tambalearon, cayendo de lado a lado como ebrios, todas sus habilidades de marineros les fueron inútiles.
They reel to and fro, and move as a drunkard, And all their wisdom is swallowed up.
28 Entonces llamaron al Señor para que los ayudara, y Él los salvó de su sufrimiento.
And they cry to Jehovah in their adversity, And from their distresses He bringeth them out.
29 Calmó la tempestad, y las olas se aquietaron.
He establisheth a whirlwind to a calm, And hushed are their billows.
30 Los navegantes estaban tan felices de que las aguas se hubieran calmado, y el Señor los llevó hasta el puerto que querían.
And they rejoice because they are quiet, And He leadeth them to the haven of their desire.
31 Alaben al Señor por su gran amor, y por todas las cosas hermosas que ha hecho por su pueblo.
They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men,
32 Digan cuán maravilloso es en frente de toda la congregación y de los ancianos.
And they exalt Him in the assembly of the people, And in the seat of the elders praise Him.
33 Él seca ríos y convierte tierras en desiertos; las cascadas de agua dejan de fluir y la tierra se vuelve seca y polvorienta.
He maketh rivers become a wilderness, And fountains of waters become dry land.
34 Los terrenos fructíferos se convierten tierras arenosas y baldías a causa de la maldad de los que allí vivían.
A fruitful land becometh a barren place, For the wickedness of its inhabitants.
35 Pero Él también se vuelve y hace lagunas de agua en mitad del desierto, y hace fluir cascadas en tierras secas.
He maketh a wilderness become a pool of water, And a dry land become fountains of waters.
36 Trae a la gente hambrienta a un lugar donde pueden reconstruir sus ciudades.
And He causeth the hungry to dwell there, And they prepare a city of habitation.
37 Ellos siembran sus campos y plantan viñas, produciendo buena cosecha.
And they sow fields, and plant vineyards, And they make fruits of increase.
38 Él cuida de su pueblo, y este aumenta su tamaño drásticamente, también el número de sus ganados!
And He blesseth them, and they multiply exceedingly, And their cattle He doth not diminish.
39 Cuando son pocos, reducidos por el dolor, la miseria y la opresión.
And they are diminished, and bow down, By restraint, evil, and sorrow.
40 Derrama su desprecio hacia sus líderes, haciéndolos vagar, perdidos en el desierto.
He is pouring contempt upon nobles, And causeth them to wander in vacancy — no way.
41 Pero Él saca al pobre de sus problemas, y hace a sus familias tan grandes como los rebaños.
And setteth on high the needy from affliction, And placeth families as a flock.
42 Los que viven en rectitud mirarán lo que está pasando y se alegrarán, pero los malvados serán silenciados.
The upright do see and rejoice, And all perversity hath shut her mouth.
43 Aquellos que son sabios prestarán atención a esto, y meditarán en el gran amor de Dios.
Who [is] wise, and observeth these? They understand the kind acts of Jehovah!
