Salmos 104
1 ¡Qué todo mi ser alabe al Señor! ¡Dios mío, eres tan grande, revestido en majestad y esplendor!
Bless, O my soul, the Lord. O Lord my God, thou art very great; with glory and majesty art thou clothed.
2 Usas la luz como vestidura; tú extiendes el tejido de los cielos.
[Thou art he] who wrappeth himself in light as with a garment; who stretcheth out the heavens like a curtain;
3 Colocas las vigas de tu casa en las nubes de lluvia. Haces de las nubes de los cielos tus carruajes. Te montas sobre las alas del viento.
Who frameth of the waters the beams of his upper-chambers; who maketh the clouds his chariot; who walketh along upon the wings of the wind:
4 Haces de los vientos tus ángeles, y a las llamas de fuego tus sirvientes.
Who maketh the winds his messengers; the flaming fire his ministers;
5 Tú pusiste la tierra sobre sus bases; y nunca será estremecida.
Who hath founded the earth upon her bases, that she should not be moved to all eternity.
6 Estaba cubierta con océanos profundos, las aguas cubrían las montañas—
Thou hadst covered the deep as with a garment: above the mountains stood the waters.
7 pero a tu orden las aguas huyeron; al sonido de tu trueno corren.
At thy rebuke they fled, at the voice of thy thunder they hastened away.
8 Las montañas se levantaron y los valles se hundieron hasta donde tú habías determinado.
They ascended mountains; they went down valleys, unto the place which thou hadst founded for them.
9 Pusiste un límite para los océanos, para que no regresaran y volvieran a cubrir la tierra.
Bounds hast thou set which they cannot pass over, that they return not again to cover the earth.
10 Haces que los manantiales fluyan hacia los arroyos, bajando desde las montañas.
[Thou art he] who sendeth springs into the valleys, between mountains they run along.
11 Proveen agua para todos los animales salvajes, para que los caballos salvajes aplaquen su sed.
They give drink to all the beasts of the field: the wild asses quench [thereon] their thirst.
12 Los pájaros construyen sus nidos entre los árboles al lado de las corrientes de agua, cantando entre el follaje.
By them have the fowls of the heaven ever their habitation, from between the branches they send forth their voice.
13 Envías lluvias sobre las montañas desde tu hogar en lo más alto; llenas la tierra con cosas buenas.
Who watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: from the fruit of thy works is the earth satisfied.
14 Haces que la grama crezca para las vacas, y las plantas también para que la gente se alimente de ellas, cultivos de la tierra para servir como alimento,
[Thou art he] who causeth grass to grow for the cattle, and herbs by the service of man, that he may bring forth bread out of the earth;
15 y vino para hacerlos felices, aceite de oliva para hacer resplandecer sus rostros, y pan para hacerlos fuertes.
And wine that maketh joyful the heart of man, [and] oil to brighten his face, and bread which strengtheneth the heart of man.
16 Los árboles del Señor están bien regados, los cedros del líbano que Él plantó.
Full of sap are the trees of the Lord, the cedars of Lebanon which he hath planted;
17 Los gorriones se anidan ahí; las garzas hacen sus nidos en los más altos árboles.
Where the birds make their nests: the stork—fir-trees are her house.
18 Las cabras salvajes viven en los picos de las montañas; y los damanes se esconden entre las rocas.
The high mountains are for the wild goats: the rocks are a shelter for the conies.
19 Tú hiciste la luna para marcar los meses, y el sol sabe cuándo ponerse.
He hath made the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
20 Haces caer la oscuridad para que venga la noche, el momento en el que los animales del bosque salen a cazar.
Thou causest darkness, and it becometh night, wherein creep forth all the beasts of the forest.
21 Los jóvenes leones rugen mientras buscan a su presa, buscando la comida que Dios les proveyó.
The young lions roar after their prey, and ask from God their food.
22 Cuando el sol sale vuelven a sus guaridas para descansar.
The sun ariseth, they withdraw [to their lairs], and lie down in their dens.
23 Entonces las personas salen a hacer sus tareas, y trabajan hasta el ocaso.
Man goeth [then] forth unto his work, and to his labor until the evening.
24 Señor, ¡Cuántas cosas has hecho, todas ellas sabiamente formadas! La tierra está llena de tus criaturas.
How manifold are thy works, O Lord! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
25 Considera el mar, profundo y ancho, lleno de todos los tipos de seres vivientes, grandes y pequeños.
Here is this great and wide-extended sea; therein are moving things without number, living creatures both small and great.
26 Los barcos navegan allí, y el Leviatán, que creaste para que jugara en él.
There the ships make their way: [there also] is the leviathan, whom thou hast made to sport therein.
27 Todas las criaturas te buscan para que les des comida en el momento correcto.
All of these wait upon thee, to give them their food in its due season.
28 Cuando se las provees, la recogen. Les repartes alimento a todos, y son saciados.
What thou givest them they gather: thou openest thy hand, they are satisfied with good.
29 Cuando te alejas de ellos, se aterrorizan; cuando retiras su aliento de vida, ellos mueren y regresan al polvo.
Thou hidest thy face, they suddenly vanish: thou takest away their spirit, they perish, and to their dust they return.
30 Mas cuando envías tu aliento, son creados, y la vida cubre la tierra una vez más.
Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created; and thou renewest the face of the earth.
31 ¡Qué la gloria del Señor permanezca para siempre! El Señor se alegra con todo lo que ha hecho.
The glory of the Lord will endure for ever; the Lord will rejoice in his works:
32 Solo tiene que mirar hacia la tierra y esta tiembla; las montañas dejan salir humo a su toque.
He who looketh down on the earth, and she trembleth; who toucheth the mountains, and they smoke.
33 Cantaré al Señor mientras viva; cantaré alabanzas a Dios toda mi vida.
I will sing unto the Lord while I live: I will sing praises to my God while I exist.
34 Ojalá el Señor se plazca con mis pensamientos porque me alegro en el Señor.
May my speech be agreeable to him: I will indeed rejoice in the Lord.
35 ¡Sean destruidos los pecadores de la tierra; qué los malvados dejen de existir! ¡Todo mi ser alabe al Señor!
May the sinners cease from off the earth, and the wicked be no more. Bless, O my soul, the Lord. Hallelujah.
