Proverbios 7
1 Hijo mío, acepta lo que te digo y saca provecho de mis instrucciones.
My son! Keep my sayings, And lay up my commands with you.
2 Haz lo que te digo y vivirás. Observa mis enseñanzas, y estímalas como el objetivo principal de tu vida.
Keep my commands, and live, And my law as the pupil of your eye.
3 Átalas a tus dedos y escríbelas en tu mente.
Bind them on your fingers, Write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 A la sabiduría, dile: “Eres mi hermana”, y considera la inteligencia como tu mejor amiga.
Say to wisdom, “You [are] my sister.” And cry to understanding, “Relative!”
5 Ellas te protegerán de la mujer inmoral, y de la prostituta que viene a ti con palabras seductoras.
To preserve you from a strange woman, From a stranger who has made her sayings smooth.
6 Una vez miré a través de la ventana de mi casa,
For at a window of my house, I have looked out through my casement,
7 y vi entre los jóvenes inmaduros a uno que era totalmente insensato.
And I see among the simple ones, I discern among the sons, A young man lacking understanding,
8 Este hombre caminaba por la calle cerca a la esquina de la casa de la prostituta, y tomó el sendero que pasaba por su casa.
Passing on in the street, near her corner, And the way [to] her house he steps,
9 Ya era la hora del crepúsculo, y la luz se desvanecía, mientras llegaba la oscuridad de la noche.
In the twilight—in the evening of day, In the darkness of night and blackness.
10 Entonces salió esta mujer a su encuentro. Estaba vestida como una prostituta con intenciones engañosas.
And behold, a woman to meet him—(A harlot’s dress, and watchful of heart,
11 (Era ruidosa y provocativa, sin deseo de quedarse en casa.
She [is] noisy, and stubborn, her feet do not rest in her house.
12 Por momentos caminaba por las calles, luego andaba por las plazas, vagabundeando en cada esquina).
Now in an out-place, now in broad places, And she lies in wait near every corner)—
13 Lo agarró y lo besó, y con osadía en su rostro, le dijo:
And she laid hold on him and kissed him, She has hardened her face and says to him,
14 “Ya presenté mi ofrenda de paz hoy, y pagué mis votos.
“Sacrifices of peace-offerings [are] by me, Today I have completed my vows.
15 Por eso vine a tu encuentro. ¡Te estaba buscando, y ahora te he encontrado!
Therefore I have come forth to meet you, To earnestly seek your face, and I find you.
16 Mi cama está lista, con sábanas de colores traídas desde Egipto.
I decked my bed [with] ornamental coverings, Carved works—cotton of Egypt.
17 En mi cama he rociado perfume, aromas de mirra, aloe y canela.
I sprinkled my bed [with] myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18 Ven conmigo, y hagamos el amor hasta el amanecer. ¡Disfrutemos el uno del otro haciendo el amor!
Come, we are filled [with] love until the morning, We delight ourselves in loves.
19 Mi esposo no está en casa, pues se ha ido a un largo viaje.
For the man is not in his house, He has gone on a long journey.
20 Se llevó una bolsa de dinero, y no volverá hasta la luna nueva”.
He has taken a bag of money in his hand, At the day of the new moon he comes to his house.”
21 Así lo convenció con sus palabras, y lo sedujo con su hablar.
She turns him aside with the abundance of her speech, She forces him with the flattery of her lips.
22 Él la siguió de inmediato, como buey llevado al matadero. Como ciervo atrapado en una trampa
He is going after her straight away, he comes as an ox to the slaughter, And as a chain to the discipline of a fool,
23 hasta que una lanza traspasa su hígado, como un ave que vuela y queda atrapada, y no sabe que pagará con su vida.
Until an arrow splits his liver, As a bird has hurried to a snare, And has not known that it [is] for its life.
24 Así que escúchame ahora, hijo mío, y presta atención a lo que digo.
And now, you sons, listen to me, And give attention to sayings of my mouth.
25 No pienses ni siquiera en seguir a tal mujer. No camines por su casa.
Do not let your heart turn to her ways, Do not wander in her paths,
26 Porque ella ha hecho caer a muchos hombres, y los ha destruido.
For many [are] the wounded she caused to fall, And mighty [are] all her slain ones.
